Not included in the Patreon post are the changes being made to SCP-106’s Pocket Dimension. All items that have been dropped in the Pocket Dimension will have a chance of randomly respawning back in the Facility. The chances of the items respawning in the Facility are based on its rarity. For example, items such as Medkits have a smaller chance of respawning, compared to the Micro H.I.D. Further information will be revealed in the future.

Hello @everyone

We always want to bring the best experience when playing SCP: Secret Laboratory. Each year we try our best to improve our game. We also try to incorporate features around different holidays, such as Christmas and Halloween.

Unfortunately, whilst we are hard at work with the upcoming release of our 12.0 ‘Mimicry’ update, staff availability is focused to ensure this is done to a high standard. Therefore, this year, we are sadly unable to provide a new Halloween feature. For those of you still missing the Halloween Achievement, it will still be able to be unlocked by playing the game during this period.

We are also extremely saddened by this, but, in the future, we hope to be able to continue to provide themed updates; we still intend to host the Christmas update.

In other, more positive, news, on Tuesday the 1st of November (8 days) we are lowering the tier required to access the Patreon beta of the 12.0 ‘Mimicry’ update. The tier will be lowered to ‘Major Scientist’ ($10 USD).

Please note that in order to access the Beta until then you still require the tier of ‘Zone Manager’(25$), which will refresh the subscription at the end of the month.

We’re sorry we are unable to provide a Halloween update, but we hope you will all enjoy the new, upcoming release.

The public beta is accessible through Steam, but you must opt-in in order to play.

You can opt-in to the beta by right-clicking SCP:SL in your Steam Library, and then by selecting the ‘Properties’ tab.
From there, select the ‘Betas’ category, and finally, select the ‘Public Beta’ option from the dropdown menu.
You may need to fully restart Steam to force the Beta to appear.

Not only will players have access to new features and improvements, but the lighting system has been completely overhauled. This completely changes the atmosphere of the game, giving players a whole new experience.

There is a workaround to this issue. You can switch to Discord authentication instead.
Tutorial:

  1. Go to Steam library, right click SCP:SL and select properties.
  2. Scroll down. You should see a text box allowing you to specify launch options (will be marked as an option for advanced users). Enter -fdiscord there. Then close the window.
  3. Launch SCP:SL.
  4. While SCP:SL is loading, Discord will ask you whether you authorize SCP:SL. Click "Authorize". You might need to manually open discord to see the dialog.
  5. You should be able to play SCP:SL. Keep in mind that you will not have all your server roles (such as admin or VIP), because your UserID changed (you are now playing using Discord, not Steam). When the Steam downtime is over you can remove the -fdiscord argument and you will get your roles back.

Hello everyone!

We’d like to provide you with a relatively quick rundown of what our Patreon Early Rebalancing Session(s) (PEARS), actually is!

PEARS is an exclusive event which roughly takes place on a bi-monthly basis — where Patreons with the ‘Major Scientist’ tier and above will be provided with the opportunity to playtest features that have not yet been released on the public branch of the game.

The entirety of PEARS will be hosted on servers running on an experimental version of SCP: SL. The servers will remain open for a total of 72 hours. This is to ensure that every player from around the world has the opportunity to play, regardless of what their timezone may be.

Patreons who participate in PEARS will gain exclusive access to a number of channels, in which they’ll be able to share feedback, and discuss their concerns or ideas with our development teams.

We are currently finalising our next update, Version 13.5, and will be releasing it to the public branch very soon. In anticipation of this, we are excited to announce that we will be launching a Patreon beta for Version 13.5! This beta will last for about a week. It includes a handful of changes, such as several SCP tweaks, the SCP-207 changes, and the reworked SCP-1853.

If you are interested in the beta, Patreon subscribers of Tier 3 (Major Scientist) and above will be able to participate in the beta and provide feedback. Our release date is this Friday the 3rd (time to be determined), and we will be updating more on how to get into the beta within the contributor channels soon.

These are a bit more streamlined and hopefully make things more efficient for Server Hosts. All server-related enforcement going forward will reflect what is outlined within the CSG. The Foundation’s walls are shifting once again – not from containment failure, but creativity. We’re officially opening submissions for this year’s SCP: Secret Laboratory Art Contest, and this time, we are introducing a theme.

To participate in the contest, we kindly ask that you first complete the following Google Form to be registered as a contestant: https://forms.gle/txfx3i3SSWRaq93x8

This form will ask for some general information to help us better streamline the submission process. Participants will have one week to register themselves as a contestant. Otherwise, they will not be able to participate.

Contest rules are:

  • NO NSFW content.
  • Keep ALL art related to SCP:SL.
  • NO art that would cause drama or toxicity.
  • NO art theft or re-use of previous work.
  • NO AI generated content at any step of the process.

The contest will follow three key phases:

Registration Phase
October 30th to November 6th.
Artists will officially enlist. Declare your intent, because illusions begin here.

Submission Phase
November 7th to November 21st.
The art breaches containment. Your single piece, your ultimate gambit. No revisions.

Public Voting Phase
November 22nd to November 29th.

Windows build on some servers drains a lot of CPU and causes SSL errors. Linux build is fine. Windows will be rebuilded and uploaded to steam.

Small Discord Update Time!

We are introducing a few new and fan-favourite returning features for the Discord server, with some more coming on the way

  • Levelling

079 was split into three bots currently, each one having a different role

@steep scaffold - Main bot having all of the features fit for a server, similar to meeseeks, dyno and all that, should be an all in one package, the exact same as in here! - Will be public soon!

@low zenith - Bot made specifically for SL, handling our warnings and warning for pinging Hubert, as well as Patreon stuff - Will not be public!

@lyric gyro - A new bot Handling levels and ranks for levels, more features could be added soon! - Will be public after beta!

Talking about that, levels !

For talking on the channels, one can gain experience! The algorithm is extremely sophisticated, having cooldowns, awarding more for typing longer sentences more often and all of that. We will be testing it on the server starting today, with a possible levels reset around it leaving beta if the database cannot be moved.

But numbers only are no reward, eh? You can see fancy profiles of yours with .profile and .rank, but that yet again is not everything, but behoooold!

Good morning and good evening to all! We are looking for a few people from you, the community, to join us in becoming ambassadors to the rest of the community on Discord! You will be the voice of the discord users and work closely with us in passing along information from the people to the discord staff team and work for satisfaction among the masses. This ensures the least amount of influence on our end and lets you decide who you want to represent you.

The only requirement to be considered a valid candidate is to have at least 500 messages on this discord server.

Good morning, good evening, and good night to all! This past week, we here on the discord have been slowly organizing a community event that we hope to share and have fun with everyone all around! Here’s the plan:

On December 22nd, 2018 (5 days from now) around 2:00 PM CST, we will hold a livestream where SCP:SL Staff members will read community submitted SCP-Themed holiday stories, poems, fan-fics, and whatever other writings you may have!

This is your chance to write something great and have it read on stream by a studio staff member, and possibly by the glorious Hubert himself! Legend says if he chooses you, there is suddenly a knock on your door and when you answer it, nobody in sight except for a can of Red-Bull sitting on the ground…

If you’re interested in writing a piece for staff to read, please make sure to keep it obviously safe-for-work, meaning no sexual content involved and very little to no foul language – however, jokes and jabs at the game and staff members are to be had and, in fact, strongly encouraged! Writing a submission gives you the chance to show off your memey side and possibly be immortalized in SCP:SL history!

There are also going to be rewards! At the end of the readings, we will have the viewers vote on their favorite writings and choose their top 5 favorites. The top 5 writers will get a $5 gift card each! The viewers will also vote on their one favorite staff reader, who will also get a $5 gift card!

We will host a campaigning style election again, where interested users can run as candidates for ambassador. Of those candidates running, people will choose their preferred candidate and submit their vote for them. There will be a maximum of 25 candidates. Only 5 candidates will make it through to finally become an ambassador.

Each candidate will get to post 1 message in the #556165283899899924 channel, and must use this message to express themselves, their ideas, what they want to accomplish, and why you should vote for them. Abusing this message in any way is grounds for disqualification from the election.

Requirements:

  1. Have over 3000 messages on this server (SCP: Secret Laboratory)

Due to the recent issues with Steam authentication system, we've started working on alternative ways of authentication. Discord came with help and that's why you can see the new tabs on the top of the channel list. We had to put anything in the release date in order to be accepted by the Discord system and the date was totally random.

Just for clarification, we have never released any official ETA of Megapatch II and the Community estimations are mostly false. All I can say for now is that Megapatch Part II is being finished and we're going to start closed beta testing sessions very soon. Believe us, we can't provide any ETAs since we've reworked the entire networking system which requires a lot of testing. We want to release the update when it's ready and free of the most annoying bugs.

As an addition to the above, we are not proposing to REMOVE camping/hiding. That'd be silly. We are instead focusing on making it less impactful on the duration of the game as a whole, so lowering delays caused by camping and such. Who knows, we might make hiding more of a key way to survive, without the delay, depending on the outcome of the survey 😉

It's been a while since we've had an official communication about the code side of things, hasn't it?

Hubert has been working on the very final feature of the patch, which is finalizing the new HID. After that, it's going to go into into our QA cycles until we're confident that it's ready to go, which will likely be a few weeks at the minimum but no longer than a month if we're efficient. We had a QA test last night that uncovered a very critical issue, and that issue might have been a huge breakthrough to speed things along, but it remains to be seen until we test that, too. April Fools' was a flop in how buggy it was, and we don't want a repeat of that. MP2'll be good to go once it's completely ready and stable enough to last more than five seconds in a public match. I don't know when that will be, but it shouldn't be long.

In related news, the patch is close enough to ready that we're about ready to start Patreon testing for all levels of patrons. We'll be running Patreon tests alongside QA tests, because more folks tends to uncover things that a team of our size can't. We managed to have a functional game last night during a test - things are looking up. Any Patreon subs will have access to the test, so look forward to it.

As for what took us so long to get to this point, it's been said before, but I'll reiterate it: Linux servers were having an issue where players were randomly being disconnected. Linux servers make up the vast majority of the servers we use, so we obviously didn't want to release when we broke most of the game, but the issue was on Unity's end, so we had to wait. Once 2019 betas were released, we started using those, and they're working well.

Thanks for sticking with us, folks. We're as ready to get this out the door as you are.

Small edit: I forgot to mention that higher patreon tiers will get access at least three days prior, but all patrons will get access to the closed test after that time passes.

I'm seeing the public response, so as the lead programmer, I want to make another clarification about the status of the update - patrons have had this information for quite a while, but I don't think I've given some elucidation in public.

Right now, MP2 is feature-complete (which means all of our major features are fully implemented) and in the QA phase. For those of you who don't know, this is quality assurance - they're the team that tests the game and finds bugs for the programmers to fix. We have a small handful of issues that are severe enough to halt release, so we've been trying fixes for them and running them back through. We're whittling it down, but these things take time, especially since we can't afford to pay our programmers full-time to incentivize them to do work if they don't want to.

Once the QA team is able to run three rounds consecutively without any major gamebreaking bugs, we'll start getting ready to roll out the beta to patrons. For more information on that patron testing, you can check #contributor-announcements if you're a patron, which includes how things will be rolled out and the criteria for who gets it first. The results of the Halloween poll were pretty close, but the majority of folks voted in favor of continuing work on MP2. While we had time to kill, we tried doing some brief Halloween stuff with the MP1 code, but it proved too problematic. For the time being, we've gone ahead and enabled the achievement on the game servers - you should get the Halloween achievement whenever you join any server for the rest of the month, and maybe a few days afterwards.

some quick statements:

  • our central servers are under really heavy load right now, so you might have trouble until the spike decreases!
  • some servers might have malformed level generation, which means they're under too much load. that should also even itself out after a little while.
  • you can't see your cursor when you hit Escape - you can press N in the meantime to circumvent it.

we're keeping an eye on things and logging any issues we find. we'll get some hotfixes out once we're able to.

the huge stress that servers are under can make them do weird things - the patch itself should be more stable as new servers come online and the populations can get more evenly distributed between them.

we've found the issue causing the cursor thing, so it should be done in the next hotfix, which will come later tonight assuming no crazy problems. in the meantime, have fun n' enjoy the game, though do bear in mind that servers are flat-out not meant to handle this many people trying to join at once (no game's is!) so things will be a little crazy for a few hours.

a note - if you're not seeing the update, try restarting your Steam. we had that same problem during staff testing, but it's a Steam thing, not us.

We're aware of Avast Antivirus having issues with the new update. We aren't doing anything harmful to your computer, it's just a false positive. If you're experiencing this, you need to add the game to the exception list. (some people also reported that it even prevents steam from downloading the update)

Attention all server hosts - there seems to be a bug occurring where some players can't die. This is because of a file left over from the previous update - the translation was name Legancy_Interfaces and we fixed the name to Legacy_Interfaces, but the file wasn't properly removed for some servers. I'm told that if you delete that old file, some bugs should fix up.

If you're Czech and you're experiencing Server List Deserialization error, you need to change your Windows Region (Region, not Language) to English. We're working on a fix for this issue.

A point of note: during development of MP2, we switched to a new preference system. this means that your settings will need to be reapplied. I've heard that a lot of folks have been having performance trouble specifically because their settings (especially vsync) were reset.

Steam is heavily loaded (due to Steam Winter Sale) and is not working for some players. If you are having issues with steam and you can't play SCP:SL because of them, you can always download SCP:SL from our Discord Store (on the top of the server) and play without Steam.

If you want to launch Steam version in Discord mode (authentication performed by Discord) just add -fdiscord startup parameter to SCP:SL on Steam (Library -> Right click on SCP:SL -> Properties -> Set Launch Options), but Discord will ask you for authorization after launching SCP:SL, because you are using Steam version of the game.

There was an outage on Steam's Web API that we use for authentication. Their servers seem to be stable again and authentication is working normally.

To answer the most commonly addressed concern, stamina bar is not going to be as restrictive as in other games. This is the element that we will devote the most time to testing, to make sure it's not frustrating. We'll make sure server owners can disable this feature, if you guys don't like it <3
Version 10.0.0 will also include more config settings, so the server owners can modify or disable ammo/item limits.

With the global pandemic continuing, we have an important announcement: Scopopobia, our newest update, will be getting delayed until April 2020.

For context, we're an international studio, and we work all around the world. With COVID-19 being a worldwide issue, some of our staff are now in quarantine or self-isolation, with a few of them living in Italy. Because we work remotely, this hasn't affected us too much, but a lot of our developers have shifted their focus towards keeping themselves healthy and safe.

Because of the slowdown in development, coupled with 096's rework not being as polished as we'd like it to be, we've made the very difficult decision to delay Scopophobia's release to early April. After how long the wait was for Megapatch 2, we wanted to push hard to release more consistent content updates so as to not repeat the situation, and our March has been very productive, but COVID-19 interrupted our workflow and slowed things down. We're sorry about having to delay this update, especially when it comes with such a big rework, and we hope that we can get it out as fast as we can. It also means that we won't be able to release a special version for this year's April Fools Day.

Thankfully, however, further delays are unlikely. All features except for 096 have been finalized and tested thoroughly. Patrons have had access to a beta version featuring everything except 096's rework for about a week or two now, and we've been further refining the update based on feedback from those tests. Although SCP-096 abilities are subject to change based on playtesting and feedback, we've released an early showcase for Patron supporters a week ago and we decided to share it with you now: https://youtu.be/cPF-FlEE_uo

Stay healthy, remember to wash your hands often, stay at home, and if you think you have been exposed - get tested if your locale has testing readily available. We're all in this together.

@everyone Hello Everyone.

We are aware that you all have been patiently waiting for the Scopophobia update, and that we have missed our original estimate for its release by quite a long shot.

This is ultimately our fault, and we want to open by apologizing for the situation. We majorly underestimated both the problems that would occur as a result of the update and how long they would take to fix. What's important to know, however, the beta is playable, but very unstable if the servers are running for a couple rounds without a restart.

Going forward, we will be working to regularly update as development progresses and problems are solved. We are doing our best to get the Scopophobia update out to you as soon as possible, and are prioritizing it over all other projects.

We thank you all for hanging in there with us despite the delays — we couldn't do this without your support.

On May 29th, if we are not ready for public release, we will be releasing Scopophobia (Version 10.0) as a public beta on a separate branch. This allows you to play the content promised, while we iron out the problems. We thank you for your patience and hope to see you all in the public beta.

Regarding the invisibility command:

If you play on a server and the invisibility bug occurs, check if there are any online admins on the server (press N to open the player list and look for people with badges "moderator", "admin", etc). If you find one, tell them about your observations.

  1. Enter the overwatch mode (or simply be the Spectator)
  2. Try to spectate the person affected by the invisibility bug, make sure that the camera won't be able to properly track their movement (the camera will simply stay in one place)
  3. Get their PlayerId from the Remote Admin and type vischeck ID_HERE in the main ("~") console, it prints the reason why the player is invisible.
  4. Send us the results, preferably a video showing all these steps.

Twenty-first build is now live! We're getting really close to the official release, but we've refactored and adjusted few systems to make sure we can get the game as stable as we can.

  1. We've fixed a number of issues related the server logs.

  2. Anticheat has been slightly adjusted. Within the next millennia, we will hopefully reach a point where it works as planned :)

  3. The spawning system has been completely reworked, including a few important gameplay changes:
    a) Added the TICKETS INFO command to the remote admin, allowing to check the details regarding the next respawn waves.
    b) The game won't suddenly end when MTF reaches 0 tickets. Instead, MTF will be excluded from future spawn waves and CI will continue to spawn for the rest of the round.
    c) The ratio of tickets directly affect the CI spawn chance. In other words - by playing actively, you're gaining tickets for your team, increasing their chance of spawning at the next wave.

Hey! We've just updated our beta branch with the first Release Candidate version! That's the last step before the release, so your feedback is very important, as it's the last moment we can make changes.

The most notable changes are:

- Multiple bugfixes (fixed over 15 bugs that were present in the previous betas)
- SCP-096 can also get triggered when a player collides with him (that should reduce the "looking at the floor" tactic)
- Players will die if they try to squeeze through a gate that's being pried by 096 (gate exploit fix)
- We haven't managed to provide the old menu support on time, the option to change the menu type was temporarily removed until version 10.1.

Hello everyone, I’m cross-conception! For the last year I have had the privilege of working with @reef pumice and @young wave to develop the SCP:SL wiki. After a full year of work behind the scenes, we are finally ready to pair the release of Scopophobia with the dedicated SCP:SL wiki.

As a small amount of you who discovered and discussed it are aware, the SCP:SL wiki is constantly being updated and improved. To encourage community input, we have made a Discord channel #736009227172053103 where you can contact the SCP:SL wiki team with any comments or suggestions. To those of you who have already contributed, we have greatly appreciated your help!

I'm Sin, Northwood's Game Design Manager. Scopophobia has been out for some time now, and we've listened to all sides of the particularly polarized discussion regarding the balance of SCP-096. We're aware that 096 has some quirks that need correction, and this time around I'd like to involve the community a bit in the design process. Provided at the bottom of this announcement are links to a feedback survey regarding a few of our internally popular ideas for SCP-096's rebalancing, translated into multiple languages. I implore you to have a look at what we've come up with and respond to the survey. While we receive plenty of feedback on the Steam discussion forums, in-game, and on Discord itself, this feedback is very difficult to codify compared to the survey, in which we can take the raw data and turn it into numbers for later analysis.

I will stress once more; surveys are, by far, the best metric that we can use to gauge people's thoughts about this or that. I implore you to respond to them whenever we go out. Provided below are the links to various translations of the survey

Hello again,

We have pushed another update to our open beta to fix the game not starting. We have also fixed the compatibility with the following platforms:

  • Computers that had silent/sudden crashes on launch.
  • Windows 7
  • Wine ( Still not officially supported but Happy Linux noises PenguDance )
  • Cloud PC's. (The only thing we couldn't confirm yet is with Geforce NOW. Please let us know! GeForce NOW confirmed working. 😄 )

This build also includes additional optimizations.
Just like the last one, it is client only and you are able to join any 10.1 servers on the server list.

Like last time we have made an open-beta branch on Steam to download this fix. Alternatively you can also play on Discord using #715944724438974556 branch.
This fix is client only and you are able to join any 10.1 servers on the server list.

Recently you may have read an announcement from a large community server talking about a file that is currently within the game directory called “KM-SL-AC.sys”. They have dubbed this as an arbitrary kernel driver and potentially dangerous. We want to express that this file is not in use. You may also notice that the file can be deleted freely and the game still functions. Meaning the file is not being used.

“KM-SL-AC.sys” is a packed dummy(fake) file to make malicious people (like cheat developers) think it's a kernel driver. This file was included to observe the behavior of cheat devs and to analyze their skill levels. We closely monitor known cheating forums and discord to combat their methods in our Anti-Cheat solution.

For the techies: "KM-SL-AC.sys" does not access, read, write any files and/or processes. Our Anti-Cheat currently only, and only runs in user mode. (SL-AC.dll + SCPSL.exe).
We do not plan on making a kernel level mode Anti-Cheat now or in the near future, simply because there is no need for it.

This .sys file was signed with a regular code signing certificate.
Microsoft requires EV (Extended Validation) certificates approved by the Microsoft Hardware Dev Center for any kernelmode drivers for newer windows 10 versions (version 1607 and newer).

We have seen increased reports that our game is not starting on Windows 7.

As long as Windows 7 is in the minimum requirements, we will keep fixing all bugs related to it.
We do however recommend Windows 7 users to migrate to Microsoft supported Windows version like Windows 8.1 or Windows 10.
Windows 7 has reached its official end-of-life already, we will drop support for Windows 7 respectively in the near future.

This open beta will not be released as a standalone patch, but rather added/merged into our upcoming Christmas update.

If you encounter a bug which causes the player to move in place, doors to not interact, and the player to get disconnected from the game, please send the game logs to @rotund jackal. (Łukasz Klapek#9172 | 180304850574114816)

Please do not send any Trello reports regarding these bugs. The Quality Assurance team is aware of this bug and only needs the logs to be able to fix it.

Here is how to access logs:

Open your Steam, RMB click on the game name -> PROPERTIES -> LOCAL FILES, in the tab click on "Browse Local Files"

In the newly opened window, you should have the file "log.bat". Launch it and send the files named "player[.log]" and "player_prev[.log]" to @rotund jackal.

We've just released a patch to the public beta. Restart your Steam (or validate game files) or go to #715944724438974556 to download it.

# CHANGELOG
- SCP-939 now has 1800 HP and 600 AHP (hume shield). It regenerates 20AHP/s after 7 seconds of the last received damage.
- Replaced all ammo dropmodel placeholders except for the 12/70 buckshot (still work-in-progress, like the AK sounds).
- Movement refresh rate is now synchronized with the framerate. This should provide a smoother experience.
- Fixed CASSIE announcements when SCPs die to MTF.
- Fixed SCP-079 not getting EXP when closing hallway doors.
- Fixed body armor glitching into other items upon death.
- Fixed server crashing when SCP-096 dies during charge-gate animation.
- Fixed a bunch of useless warnings in the client debug log, making it easier to read.
- Fixed some exceptions that were thrown at round start/end concerning Teslas, 049-2, and CharacterClassManager.
- Fixed some issues causing culling to break.
- Fixed SCP-049-2 strafing animation. They will no longer aim down sights or T-Pose.
- Reduced audio of certain 173 effects.
- Fixed floating bullet holes on the surface.
- Default jumpscare sound effect no longer plays on 173.
- Added 1.5 second anti-missclick timer to "Breakneck Speeds", so it can't be accidentally cancelled immediately after activation.
- Fixed a bunch of issues with SCP-939 that have been occuring on the private patreon beta.

Ever since the release of the second version of the public beta, many servers are experiencing stability issues during round restarts, and as of now we aren't able to pinpoint the exact cause. We have reasons to believe it's one of the features included in the previous build. Because of this, we will be releasing a few builds, each excluding one of the features that were made in the previous update, including the rewrite that took place in order to facilitate balance changes (such as the AHP hume shield), and a few minor features. This decision ensures that we are able to narrow down our searches and find a proper fix for these recent issues that many players have recently reported.

There seems to be no issues with features released yesterday on the pre-beta-staging branch, and they are now also available on the main public-beta branch. In the meanwhile, we've pushed another build to test on the staging branch. It mostly includes backend changes that need testing, so gameplay-wise these two branches are nearly identical.

Another batch of minor features and improvements has just been released onto the pre-beta branch.

# IMPROVEMENTS
- Completely reworked first-person flashes to make them look nicer. Please note thirdperson effects are still work-in-progress and were temporarily disabled.
- Slightly adjusted the SCP-079 camera effects.
- Reworked muting system.
- Weapon status is now also synced in thirdperson models. That means other players can see if the weapon was unloaded, cocked, or out of ammo.
- Revolver cocking sound will now be audible to other players.

Another build was just released on the pre-beta-staging branch. It contains a lot of new features and we've updated the networking system our game uses. We hope it'll address many softlocking issues (or at least be a good point to effectively start dealing with them).

Quick note: this patch includes a few visual issues with thirdperson models that we are already aware of. We've decided to release this build anyway, since it's nothing major or worth further delay.

# FEATURES & IMPROVEMENTS
- Added "summary" screen for workstations and spectator editor, used to compare different gun presets.
- All equip time modifiers are now converted into seconds.
- Added AK gunshot and the remaining equip/inspect sounds.
- Added more decimal places for ADS accuracy in inventory descriptions for firearms.
- Revolver cocking sound is now audible to other players.
- Generally improved realism with dryfire mechanics. Weapons with bolt-catch can't be dry-fired after running out of ammo, unless magazine was removed or charging handle was used. Unloading weapons will reset the hammer.
- Added translations for workstation buttons.
- Reduced AK's downsides of the suppressor and slightly nerfed the long barrel.
- Re-added overcharge command via request from serverhosts.
- Adjusted win conditions. Class-D can't win if Foundation personnel is the only team alive.
- SCP-173
  - 173's tantrum's after affect (Stained) is reduced from 3 -> 2 seconds.
  - Changed Tantrum Pool size to better reflect its effect radius.
  - Re-added blink scaling: 3.0s base, 0.6s per witness
  - "Breakneck speeds" blink distance bonus from 2x -> 1.5x increase.
  - "Breakneck speeds" now also halves blink time (including from being witnessed.) 1.5s base, 0.3s per witness
  - Blink is now only active for 3 seconds after losing witnesses.
  - Lowered loudness of sound of getting shot by 40%, but it'll now ignore the audio ducking caused by gunshots.
  - New neck-snap sound effects.
  - Staring ambience now pans left and right depending on where 173 is on your screen.
  - New sound effect for blinking.
  - New sound when 173 dies.
  - New "footstep" sounds.
  - Shield breaking sound should be more noticeable (when 173's AHP is depleted).
  - Staring ambience now fades out when you look away.
  - Music will now fade away faster (5 seconds -> 3.5 seconds).

- Fixed long standing issue with rooms not being properly darkned.

- Fixed issue with being unable to attack when one of two SCP-939 instances were killed.

  - Fixed issue with "try not to cry" ability not giving first targe rage time
  - Fixed issue with rage time being limited to 27s, not 30s.
  - Fixed issue with gaining time for getting targets while raging.


# API CHANGES
- Exposed `BaseStats` to be a property of `Firearm` instead of `IHitregModule`.
- Added `SimulatedInstanceMode` to firearms, which allows to safely instantiate modules and simulate stats without assigning the weapon to any player.

- Improved ADS shooting animations. The NV scopes aren't so shaky.
- Reducted Crossvec's NV scope to 1.3 kg, it's still heavier than 3 other options combined, but it's at least not a total dealbreaker.
- Adjusted spawning inventories:
  - NTF Specialists get additional medkit and 40 cartridges of 9x19mm.
  - Conscripts and Riflemen get additional AK mag (+30 7.62x39mm).
- Rebalanced MTF-E11-SR's JHP ammo:
  - Damage per magazine against unarmored enemies is nearly identical to regular FMJ, despite having 10 fewer bullets. It now performs even worse against armor, and rifle receiver can no longer negate its downsides: Damage multiplier changed from 115% -> 130%. Penetration multiplier changed from 65% -> 50%. 
- Slightly rebalanced AK's muzzle devices:
  - Default barrel buff: Weight reduced from 0.15 -> 0.1 kg
  - Heavy barrel nerf: Weight increased from 0.9 -> 0.95 kg. Length increased from 226 -> 229 mm. Added +5% hip inaccuracy penalty.
  - Suppressor buff: Weigh reduced from 0.8 -> 0.65 kg. Length reduced from 203 -> 198 mm.
  - Muzzle booster buff: Fire rate multiplier increased from 110% to 115%.


# OTHER
- Fixed Logicer's glitched ADS anims when using the foregrip
- Slightly reworked code responsible for dropping items, it's the only feature that has a potential of breaking the game, hence we're testing it on the pre-beta-branch first.

There's a new build available on the pre-beta-staging branch. It contains bugfixes and minor improvements, which will be added to the main branch tomorrow (if proven to be working). Since we're entering the game is stable enough for the big release, it's most likely the final build released on the pre-beta branch.

Version 11.1 has just been released on the public-beta branch on Steam (right-click on SL in your Steam library -> Properties -> Beta -> select "public-beta"). If you can't see it - restart your Steam client. Version 11.1 will be officially released on the main branch in a few days, unless new issues are found. We're going to post a detailed changelog at the main release day, but here's a list of changes in case you want to see what's changed:

- Reintroduced SCP-330 (Candies) and its chamber.
- Reintroduced SCP-2176 (Ghostlight).
- Rebalanced SCP-173. Per-observer cooldown has been removed, teleport distance has been reduced.
- Slightly buffed firearm suppressors.
- Refactored system responsbile for dealing damage. It's mostly a back-end improvement, changes aren't immediately noticeable in the base gameplay.
- Added a few more ragdoll death animations.
- Shotgun can now be unloaded by holding R.
- Dropped body armor is now less likely to obstruct small items.
- Changed default gameplay config.
- Added spawnable admin toys (RA command "spawntoy" will list all available toys).
- Introduced a lot of smaller improvements and fixed many bugs, full list will be provided in the main changelog.

Hello everyone! the following is a brief review of some of this Christmas's major features:

The fate of SCP-2536:

The Design team is thrilled with the feedback on SCP-2536. The rework of this SCP has resulted in a more player-friendly experience. The improved rewards have also ignited the imagination of the playerbase; leading to many more interesting ways in which SCP-2536 can be improved. These improvements and additional rewards will be taken into consideration for the 2022 Christmas update.

To be more specific:

SCP-2536 was a success on both a mechanical and artistic level. Although the rework of the base mechanics is unlikely, there is a high chance that new, fun items could be found under the anomalous tree for next year.

The Fate of the particle disruptor rifle:

The particle disruptor is a personal favourite of this update. The Sound team did an excellent job making it feel powerful and fun. It's one of the best Christmas experiments to date!

A large part of the community has voiced their support for the weapon to be a permanent addition to the game. Some of the reasons supporting this inclusion is because the rifle is fun, gimmicky, and a powerful save-me weapon with some clever gameplay uses. The studio largely agrees and wants the weapon to remain in-game as much as the playerbase does. We, however, need to take our time before we permanently introdroduce it to vanilla gameplay.

The particle disruptor’s model is largely disliked by various artists, who believe it should sport a look truer to SCP:SL and less like a generic, futuristic gun. The Design team believes it needs extra support to feel like a natural part of the game. This would include some supporting features such as a place and method to acquire it, as well as some rebalancing.

The fate of SCP-244:

SCP-244 was one of the more interesting design experiments the past year, and it's certainly given us a lot to think about. Currently, we don't believe the SCP is working as is.We would like to spend more time working on it behind the scenes.

Its fate is largely undecided, but our first and foremost goal will be to try and fix the predominant problems before we decide to scrap it.

We definitely believe that environmental hazards and AoE SCP-items do have a place in SCP:SL, and 244 has helped us understand what works and what doesn't.

Version 11.2 has now entered public beta phase! We're giving you free early access, so we can patch out the remaining issues more effectively.

To download it, follow these steps:

  1. Right-click on SCP:SL in your Steam Library
  2. Select "Properties" and go to "Beta" tab.
  3. Select the public-beta branch from the list.
  4. If you can't see it, restart your Steam client.

The beta will last for a few days before getting officially released onto the main branch (most likely less than a week, although it depends on how many issues we'll face). Have fun! :)
