That looks awesome!
We should get together this weekend and get all 6-7 JP Liveries on track π₯
@onyx shale By the way, did you made the logos with the decals or did you used an image and a tool to put it on the car? I ask because if you "uploaded" and put an image file on the car, they aren't viewable by other players because of the missing image files in their system. It might happen that you start with a blank car in the race in their point of view.
All vanilla decals. I did use an overlayed image to get the proportions close though
Wow, looks really really good. Just wondered because it looks so close to the original.
Here's a progress picture I took
Then used masks to trim down the black outline and background gradient
All in the top layer to not mess up the base colors
this was nearing completion of that decal
Really nice.
The fading yellow/orange in the letters is a smart move by "just" covering a background. When I did my car I put in every letter the gradient decals. It worked but is a bit messy. Your way gets a really clean result π
Also good to have two doors for more space. Mine is just a "Dino-Park" car π
How much time did it take u?
I really dont know honestly. maybe 4 nights where i spent about 2 hours on it each night. rough guess though
That's even fast in my opinion π
Some designs I have kept track pretty closely and I end up with around 13 hours total
Luckily I could build it in a way that i could easily recycle the decal to the hood with slight modifications so I really only made the letters once and the dino logo once. the green and red marks are simply mirrored too
The "new" option to group decals and copy them is great. Could have needed that before I finished my JP car. Had to do it over and over again.
Damn, I just couldn't figure out the logo. Ya'll be some talented mfkrs
yeah i agree grouping has been a huge time saver and lots of these designs would be borderline impossible without it. I did make enough designs pre-grouping that wouldve been vastly easier with grouping though so i know the struggle π
takes a little brain storming ill be honest. the top and bottom layer part makes it possible though. would not mind having more than just 2 seperate layers to work on though
would love to move this design over to a first gen explorer or an XJ though!
Definitely, would never do that again. The problem is even when you have to reproduce it for the other carside it was always slightly off no matter how much attention you put into it.
Try to use an overlay tool. For example "ghost it". With that tool you can use a reference pic and put it over the game window. While it's transparent u can work underneath it. Makes it easier to work on complex pics and get the proportions right although it's still work.
making this 38 a total of 4 times with no grouping was a bit of a mind numbing process. the right and left doors are not the same size and the driver door is the only one i did a red space between the black and white layers lol. was too much work to do that on each one
you definetly learn how to do a design as efficient as possible by the fourth one though LOL
Oh yeah...a lot of work...and even the car sides have dents which are different and can't be erased. That's "fun" too.
Nearly all my paintjobs are for the roadslayer. Already know it's "amenities" π
I believe you. The uv wrap is really borked on the doors thanks to those dents
By the way did you already join the "=ban channel" on discord. We will plan from there to bring all people with a jp livery together. Makes it a bit easier to get all on the track the same time.
U can also show your paintjob there. There is also a crap it livery section. The people there will really like it, I'm sure!
