Are you talking cars specifically? What did you have in mind? I quite like the MPV and a FWD Japanese coupe being included.
at least a rwd car, these are a slap in to face to competitive racers and competitive servers, once classes are implemented they will have there place but until then its boat anchors on a highway. I always expect big updates around christmas and i feel i was just handed coal lol. The new track seems alright though i havent driven it yet, was to pissed off after driving the new cars, the track was also way behind, i'm considering that a late addition to previous updates, was excited about the mirror function, of course it doesnt work properly though
tbh i quite like the fwd cars as well! then again im one of the few people who actually rather fwd than rwd so im kinda an outlier
i don't mind them, they're just not capable of the speed certain servers require to keep pace
if they gave the minivan a few more horses i probabl;y wouldnt mind it
What servers are you playing? In a proper competitive setting the meta will usually revolve around just 1 or 2 cars anyway
ah, fair enough
have not played server-wise with the new update so i dont know the pacing there
unwilling to say as i am essentially talking smack and don't wanna associate any server with myself atm
hint, its a fast clean server though lol
Fair enough. FWD is an acquired taste granted, but I wouldn't call them a slap in the face to competitive racing. I've done plenty of competitive racing in FWD in WF1 and WF2 so far as well
I'm not one of the aliens but I can put a good lap together
i challenge you to come race with us and place top 10 in any fwd XD it's so rare, meta is switchback, cardinal, and buggy rn though, im still upset they nuked the slayer lol
I know the old WF1 clean servers but not sure how many have carried across so far. Wouldn't mind getting back into the swing of things proper in WF2. Not played as much as I used to back in the day whilst the game is still in EA. I was hoping to see tuning before the end of the year but hey-ho.
gonna dm you the server
Sure
Just put Harry in the mini van
What we should be doing is recruiting @ivory crypt here to one of our "proving grounds" events. Sure we could get a good group together for some fwd fun!
already did, dm'd him to avoid associating the server with myself while im talking smack
Should probably remove the tag next to your name as well lol
that hadn't occured to me, glad i didn't say anything over the top lol
And refrained from posting your feet pics
Did manage a few top 10 finishes and a top 5 with the Phaser in peak hours with fast drivers. That being said the FWD cars generally speaking at the moment have quite a big performance gap relative to stuff like the Buggy. They still just can’t get power down effectively. More of a lack of tuning problem though than a car specific one. So hopefully a temporary deficit, at least to this extent. I’ve eaten my words yesterday for now however 😛
I've won quite a few races in the Grandstar but assuming because I'm on very dirty servers and it's easier to not get spun or wrecked in it atm
How many RWD cars we areleady have? 9? How much FWD cars we have? 3? And you want another meta RWD car?
The Phaser feel a bit like it have a limited slip differential. In the Gizmo i have way more problems with the diff. Sometimes i nearly stop because the diff in curves, so i stopped driving it. With the Prelude however its slightly different. I would like to see more FWD cars, Aslong they dont have these diff problems .
Im really happy with the update. I really love the Prelude.
Yep. On competetive servers there are always the meta cars. On dirty servers you have a chance to win even in a non meta car..
The Gizmo's diff is a lot worse yeah. The Crusader's seems to have become a bit more prone to freewheeling this update also. Guessing that is down to the physics changes which are a bit more bouncy. The Phaser seems to be the best of the lot right now.
FWDs were never meta cars in WF1 outside of specific tracks thanks to exploits. However you could set some pretty good times with them once you got into a flow. A nice challenge to do momentum driving. I'm also happy to see the Minivan and Prelude
I hope for differential tuning soon. Its a bit unfair because every RWD car is going sideways easily. To easily.
The Nexus RX with a locked diff is pretty fast on shorter technical tracks in WF1. Nice to see a high revving honda again.
It's too easy to shrug off FWD now without any form of tuning
The Nexus and Firefly were my favourite 2 cars in WF1. Not exactly meta (outside the couple track specific exceptions mentioned previously) but great fun and deceptively quick in the right hands
Even if you didnt try to drift irl yet, just look at Beamng. Try to drift the Crown vic looking car, then the BMW/Saab. Crown drifts really easy, the BMW not.
Very nice and very consistent haha. I preferred C class racing to A as it had a larger driver pool to race against, but my list is similarly primarily FWD cars. Made sure to not set times in the meta cars in lieu of a car specific leaderboard lol
As for WF2. The Phaser does feel like it will end up being quite nice when tuning comes in. The Gizmo I think will be one to watch as well
Thanks. Really fast too, interesting, because you drive straights even longer. 🤔 I tried it once on C Class servers and there only was driving op cars so i stopped again.. Most servers are A class.
Yes, the Gizmo too. At the begin i was pushing above average times too.. But this shitty open diff ruined it all.
Yeah the C class servers were filled with just the meta stuff a lot of the time but I liked the challenge. The difference between the meta stuff here in WF2 vs the FWD in their current state is quite a bit more stark.
Perhaps I was looking in the wrong places then for A class servers back in the day if they were indeed more popular
My heart beats for the prelude ;) Compared to the Nexus it is a bit longer.. Easier target for opponents plus its that light i dont even try spinning muscle cars.
I always played on chaos servers, there was a bigger variety of cars. It wasnt easy for HHRS drivers there, because they mostly was the Nr. 1 target. If you can dodge buses and know how to defend yourself you was be able to pass them.
Ah, I mainly did semi-clean stuff. Likely explains the difference.
A Prelude was a good pick I think. With a stiffer suspension to stop the rear being as floppy and then the locked or lock-biased diff when tuning comes in should make it great fun.
I did drive on Blackflag Semi-Clean once.. Chaos everywere. In curves an admin always leaned on other cars. At some point i pushed back.. Then he cornerbombed and banned me after the race. Full of pussies.
This is all skill issue, more FWD nuggets.
They wrote in the description "Today, rust has claimed most of the fancy suspension[..." Thats why its a bit floppy. Well, its a light sportscar, so its fast actually. They did it on purpose^^
wym?
Sorry I was replying to OP
I took that as a nod to the electronic 4 wheel steering system you could option Preludes with but fair enough haha.
Plus they weight more so they can defend themself better.
Yeah seen a few guys put in some good times in races. Reminds me a bit of a FWD version of the Warwagon. Boaty but surprising where you can stick it.
