#Alpha Code / Setting

To prevent unfair levels, grababble blocks that turned invisible / is invisible will not be grababble, same with grappling and anything that kills.
the completely black additive block appears
It’d be cool if parts can appear and disappear without using additive and transparents
No slin hates transparent blocks
But it would be pretty cool tho
I dont think it should be a toggle to make it invisible. More like a gradual alpha slider
Ranging from 0 to 100%
Gradient blocks are an option
Or a gradient additive block
That could work but it would add limitation, I think a simple “on and off” render switch would be good
We literally already did this with additives mode?
But it fades depending on the darkness of the color
Isn’t there a 20 block limit of it?
Making something invisible is as simple as not rendering them
And what if it needs to block something while staying invisible?
Complex maps?
Reuse them
With triggers that activate animations
Teleporting them to their location
Need multiple triggers / code blocks so complexity-wise it is unreliable - too long to set up especially in complex maps
Okay what are you even trying to build?
Realistic forest landscape for a horror game
I don’t want players to jump out of the map
And I don’t want to use wind blocks
you only need like 5 blocks
The map is more than just a square
Add more of them
I dont see why your limited
Yeah but you are not reaching it
Fo what your currently building
So why is it a problem
- invisible walls for obstacles so people don’t cheat the AI
Expain again, have you reached the 20 block limit? How?
Obstacles like fences or big rock piles will just make the AI glitch out since it can’t climb them, plus the walls for outside the map.
Guess how you could fix this issue
Is there a fix that doesn’t take a lot of time to set up?
What is so bad about invisible blocks that you have to tell me the same thing multiple times? Just asking
Idk maybe you never had to suggest this in the first place since the problem could already be solved. I do think in the future this limit will be increased. I dont think your idea is bad. I was just curious why your suggesting this.
Add a trigger that avoids certain group names.
Make the pathfinder turn away when trig is active
You could name these avoidable objects something in a group
I feel like this should work
Speaking about problems being solved, there was a modded block that has gradients, then was later added to the game. If the problems is already solved with the invisible blocks, why can’t it be added? Plus invisible blocks exist as well, it’s just hard to see where they are.
Request noted. Current focus is on core systems. Invisible blocks cover need now. Support later if viable.
not possible i dont think
well
