#Trailer Issue

Dear Support Team,

I am currently experiencing a recurring issue in Gold Rush: The Game regarding the connection and use of trailers.

When attempting to attach any trailer to a vehicle (e.g., the pickup truck), the coupling process appears to work at first glance:

The trailer’s support wheel lifts,

the support leg folds away,

and the hitch visually connects to the vehicle.

However, the trailer cannot be moved afterward. It remains stationary as if it’s not properly connected. Additionally, detaching the trailer is no longer possible through regular means.

A temporary workaround is to save the game, reload the save file, attempt the next step (e.g., recoupling), save again, and reload – often requiring several cycles. This workaround, however, only works occasionally.

In some cases, when either the trailer or towing vehicle is reset, the trailer starts behaving erratically – moving in unintended directions, sometimes even suddenly appearing on the opposite side of the parcel. This issue was not present last year.

To troubleshoot, I have already sold and repurchased the trailers, but the issue still persists with the new ones as well.

I have attached relevant screenshots for reference.

I would appreciate it if you could investigate this issue and let me know whether it's a known bug or if there is a fix or workaround available.

Regards

Hi! Thanks a lot for your report. I’ve looked into the issue you described, but I have trouble reproducing it—on my end, all trailers seem to be working fine. Could you help us with two things?

  1. Please check if you experience the same issue with trailers purchased in a completely new game. Before doing that, make sure to manually save your current game to a different save file to avoid losing progress.

  2. Are you able to reproduce the bug consistently on your current save file? If so, could you provide us with a step-by-step description of what you do to trigger the incorrect trailer behavior? Every step from the moment you load the game is important. If it’s easier, feel free to record a video and share it with us.

Hello, thanks for the answer. I have tested it with a new save state and there are no problems. Everything really works here. I think that it is reproducible with the current memory status. I'll send a video in the hope that it helps.

Hi @tawdry comet ! I was trying to replicate your issue, unfortunately no succes so far. Do you remember what happened before you expierenced this bug for the first time on your save state?

#

Would you also like to help us by sending us your save file with the issue?

Thank you for the follow-up. Please excuse my late response.

I loaded the save state and then the error occurred. I had previously completely reinstalled the game because I had replaced my computer. So the error occurred right from the start. Please find attached the savegame, thank you very much for taking a look at it.

@tawdry comet Thank you very much for your save file! We are going to analyze it now as we have to find the cause of the issue, hopefully we can give you some updates soon.
At this point we are happy to receive any additional informations regarding this issue - if you can think of any important in-game actions that could lead to this bug please let us know.

@tawdry comet have you tried buying a new trailer and checking if that problem also happens? By watching the video, it seems to me that something caused the trailer states to be entangled. So when you first activate the coupling it went into attached mode but it didnt attached to the pickup, then you activated again and it attached visually to the pickup but changed its state to parking mode as it was in attached mode previously. Try making a backup of your save and test a new magnetite trailer to see if its unaffected.

i just read you tested, my bad

#

do you recall if you use the fast travel system or constantly leaves the magnetite trailer in a different loading zone?

Good morning,

Thank you for the message. The magnetite pendant is always on the claim, so it is not possible to move it. It is also not in a loading zone. I haven't used fast travel yet and haven't used a fast travel point.

Thank you for the message, yes, I drove into town and left the trailer there

maybe the problem is related to the player being in a different section of the map

#

lets wait till the devs find something

Hello, several months have already passed. Is there any news on this yet? The error persisted in today's test.

Hi @tawdry comet, thanks for asking. We have updated the trailer hitches around month or two ago. Although we are not able to directly repair your trailer by patching the game (as every vehicle and trailer has it's very unique ID), if you buy a new one it shouldn't get bugged like this again 🙂
