yes, that's correct! I've started a new game with the tutorial and I am at day 4, drove in and out of the claim to town and back at least once a day but the fuel level remains the same. The small machines like the power generator, water pump they are working as normal. I can't speak for the mini machines as I've spend a little time with the excavator only but there might be enough reason to check all the machines out and see who's drinking gasoline and who isnt and why
