Oh and this doesn't work with armadillo pack
For obvious reasons
-removes avoiding melee damage via roll
-adds an auto parry to roll

No just that would likely suck... It would still make traversing cool but no actual combat use because of how the game is designed
That's why the cooldown is halved compared to a normal roll
And the dash speed as well
Now you're more likely to get behind the enemy or avoid their attacks by flying over them rather than using iframes
Oh and I kept the projectiles iframes
i don’t know about not being able to dodge through melee attacks though
Inquisitors would ruin this
And knife throwers
And literally any other projectile firing enemy in the game

Depends on how fast you're also falling down between dashes
I would generaly put this at obtainability somewhere where you already need all runes so it doesn't allow for any crazy skips if those are possible somehow

I dont think there is a boss that cannot be beaten without a melee roll
Perhaps dracula second phase because the mouth laser counts as melee...? But that can be tweaked
just kinda looking through the melee enemy roster, a lot of those seem kind of frustrating if you can’t roll through their attacks
sure, dodge away or jump, but still
well if the dash replaces the roll and the dash doesn’t avoid melee damage…
is it referring to only in the air?

If you get behind an enemy before they finish the attack windup they will miss
but you can’t do it while they’re attacking with this
dash through a lacerator
Technically you can dash above them if there is no ceiling
can you jump that high?

You will also get a hitbox size decrease when you dash
Because yknow
Roll is required to get trough some tight spots like gaps
So the dash will look like a slide on the ground and look quite slim mid air
Your hitbox will be the same height as when you are crouching
So yeah you can kinda avoid some attacks like leap
Like failed experiment leap
it could still be a roll while on the ground

Ok well I do think that my idea is still pretty viable even if you dash every time but
It would require practice and some horrendous skill cap
So
A roll on the ground
But an air dash
partly just that a slide would require a new animation
And tweaking the air dash now
So it gives iframes, and some changes in general
If we make roll on the ground and no iframes mid air it would feel super inconsistent
Ill just tweak this rq
