two handed weapon.

Left door- Moveset includes closed range slams, hold the attack to make the beheaded close the door, making it immune to melee attacks. Blocking attacks turns the next attack with the right door into a critical hit.

Right door-Moveset includes one foward advancing rush, hold the attack to make the beheaded immune to ranged attacks. Blocking attacks turns the next attack with the left door into a critical hit.

Obs:. In this hold to attack mechanic the door will stay closed for a period of time before the attack is delivered. It is meant to work just like the katana

I like the idea of limited invulnerability to kind of compensate for the loss of a shield (or ranged weapon), but it might get tricky to remember which door blocks which kind of attack (at least Flashing Fans and Iron Staff have some amount of differentiation/intuitiveness)

There's also the fact that the devs have gone on the record as saying they want to discourage the idea of camping in a corner with some form of invulnerability while turrets / pets / other passive damage slowly destroy an elite/boss.

I think I prefer the idea of hitting an enemy with the door, then (like Tombstone's third hit) leaving an Emergency Door behind as a certain part of the combo. That way there'd be mechanical consistency between "this door" and "that door".

Rushing-forward attacks are cool though.

Left door spins upwards(helicopter style) damaging and knocking enemies aside. Right door can be placed in front like emergency door that will shatter after a blocked attack(7 second recharge). Holding either slams doors together and parries attacks, then the beheaded rushes forward damaging enemies.

Because it makes it an actual door this way. Nothing about this is a door unless it’s used as an actual door. It could just be called slabs. Or dual shield. Unless it has a door like mechanic what makes a door?

Yeah I was actually thinking of that while I typed out my idea. But that weapon isn’t a door. It’s just two big ass slabs of concrete.
