TL;DR:
Affixes are very inconsistent and should be updated/fixed in a major update.

Warning! A lot of nerdy talk here!
There are specific problems with certain affixes, I will explain which problems they have here:

  • "Full Life Damage" (+50% dmg at max HP) and "Super Crit" (+20% crit dmg) block all other elemental damage affixes such as "+80% dmg against poisoned targets". This is very bad considering you lose out on two elemental damage affixes (you can only have 2 of those) just to have a weaker affix. Why it this the case with those two but not "Back Damage" (+30% dmg dealt from behind)?
  • Change the "More Damage" starred affix ("+15 dmg") to be a non-starred affix, it makes no sense that it's one when most other similar affixes are normal affixes.
  • Weapons with the "Heavy" tag shouldn't be able to get the weaker damage affixes ("+15% dmg" & "+20% crit dmg") as they have access to the heavy weapon affixes ("+20% dmg" & "+30% crit dmg")
  • "Back Arrow" shouldn't be limited to weapons that have bullets.
  • Change the description of "Bullet Armor" from "Damage from projectiles reduced by -75%" to "[...] reduced by 25%", it's quite misleading.
  • Basically all the newer weapons can easily have self-synergy (e.g. Baseball Bat with "+70% damage against stunned targets") while older weapons can't (e.g. Blood Sword can't get "+60% damage against bleeding targets"). Major issue & inconsistency!

There are way more even changes needed. I believe that an affixes update, similarly to how legendaries received a lot of attention in 3.0, would help fix a lot of problems that Affixes have. We already saw that a lot of affixes didn't scale properly (arrow & poison/fire affixes), so why not focus on this for one update? Go over the forbidden affix tags, forbidden items, chances, cost impacts, etc. and make sure everything makes sense because rn there are more exceptions than rules.

some problems I have with affixes:

  • ice crossbow gets crit bonuses
  • fullife and extra crit damage blacklist elemental affixes
  • serenade can't get fulllife for some reason??
  • +15% damage is a lame star affix
  • +20% damage is an affix that exists (with how common it is just buff heavy weapons by 20% ffs)
  • toxic cloud on hit and poison damage are not mutually exclusive
  • bleed on hit is unnecessarily rare (1/10 the chance of EITHER of the two poison on hit affixes)
  • pushonstop is unnecessarily rare
  • blowgun can get poison damage
  • diverse deck can get electric and poison damage
  • elemental affixes + the double/quad damage affixes are way too strong
  • burn on hit can't show up as a normal affix
  • root on death can't show up as a normal affix
  • stunshield can't show up as a normal affix
  • heavycrit exists
  • wrecking ball can get piercing affixes
  • backarrow is exclusive to ranged weapons for some reason
  • supercrit and backdamage are mutually exclusive for no reason
  • paytowin (money shooter legendary that also provides superpierce innately) is not mutually exclusive with pierce affixes
  • ice bow can get superpiece but not pierce for some reason
  • toxic cloud on deploy is way too common and isn't mutually exclusive with poisondamageact
  • stundamage is not blacklisted from toothpick or war javelin
  • lightning aoe is marked as an electric synergy tag despite not inflicting electricity
  • lightning aoe does not inflict electricity
  • grenade/arrows on destroy do very little damage
  • root damage can appear on boy axe and maw of the deep
  • rollbomb does not scale with scrolls so it's absolute dogshit
  • heavystun has zero duration
  • mariojump has even more of a zero duration
  • star affixes are unnecessarily rare for amulets
  • globalshieldonuse is has zero duration
  • extendedduration is really strong but it's still unnecessarily rare

I believe the self-synergy rule is: If the weapon inflicts the effect, it can't have the affix, if it crits on the effect but doesnt inflict it on its own, it's all good
