#Slight wrecking ball rework

Wrecking Ball is extremely slow, and it feels like it takes way too long to pay off, even for a Survival weapon. For this reason, I suggest a few changes.

1: Move the first attack in the combo (The overhead strike) to the end. This makes the toss a little easier to execute and more viable against some faster bosses, and ties in to the next suggestions.

2: Make the pull attack drag enemies towards the player and inflict a heavy stun. This keeps the other parts of the combo viable.

3: Give the (now final) attack the Nutcracker’s crit condition. This effectively turns it into a “finishing move” against large crowds.

I believe that these changes would make the full combo more flowing and rewarding, and making the toss easier to execute against bosses without triggering the “payoff” immediately.

well…
The Wrecking Ball is, almost without a doubt, THE slowest weapon in the entire roster. Sometimes you commit to an attack only for an enemy or boss to move out of the way entirely and cause you to miss your shot. I understand that the whole archetype of Survival is slow and defensive, but the game is really designed for faster playstyles in general, so being slower than enemies can cause you to whiff some attacks altogether. I will admit, the damage from the final hit is amazing, but the journey there is not; you have to slog through the three incredibly sluggish hits before getting to the last one in the combo, and if you dodge roll or stop attacking for even a short amount of time, it will reset. D Tier weapon.

glad flume
#

no @bitter crescent

#

first hit at least

#

overall probably the combo is slightly faster

#

theyre about same speed

bitter crescent
gusty oak
#

NOOOOOOO

#

i’ve been horse’d

glad flume

gusty oak

My joke detector is very faulty

glad flume
#

fun fact

#

wrecking ball counts as a whip (it pierces shields)

#

and the ranged attacks are simultaneously ranged and melee

gusty oak
glad flume
#

doublecrits casually doing +30% damage

gusty oak

a wee bit of trolling

Oh here comes viral

forest ivy
# gusty oak Wrecking Ball is extremely slow, and it feels like it takes way too long to pay ...

this sounds like survival wrenching whip
it's not a terrible idea (aside from the two separate crit conditions for some reason + it would be way too slow to actually use in that capacity) but it's not even remotely similar to the vanilla weapon
which is saying nothing of the fact that most people like the current iteration of it aside from some small things like long endlag on the first hit and the ability to get piercing affixes

forest ivy
#

so OW still works

#

but frenzy doesn't

glad flume
forest ivy
#

it was OW

glad flume
#

oh i do remember

#

vampirism

gusty oak
#

Fun fact electrodynamics procs OW

forest ivy
#

I use OW a lot on solo runs to proc bleed synergies

glad flume
#

the ranged attacks heal on vamp

forest ivy
gusty oak
glad flume
#

probably same thing as you said with ow, checks if you are using a melee

forest ivy

they do 3

#

max

gusty oak
#

The orbs tho

glad flume
#

oh nvm you mean card

forest ivy
#

yes

glad flume
#

vamp also has an icd

#

frenzy and adren dont

forest ivy
#

I mean still I don't think that it makes vamp viable on WB lol

glad flume
#

yeah too slow

#

if the icd wasnt there itd be good on wb

#

but unfortunutaely
it exists

gusty oak
#

What’s the icd on vamp anyways?

glad flume
#

0.25 sec

#

makes it unbelievably shit on nonheavies

gusty oak
#

How long is the effect again?

glad flume
#

10 sec

gusty oak
#

That means vamp+edynamics orbs can restore 80% hp, even more with frenzy bc vamp gives a speed boost

glad flume
#

if the dot from electrodynamics counts as melee yeah
just remember vamp also eats your hp, from 40% to 20%

clever yarrow
#

Wait can skills proc vamp or is it just orbs

glad flume
#

probably very few
phaser probably does

gusty oak
#

I know for a fact that the orbs proc open wounds, so I wouldn’t be surprised if they proc vamp as well

glad flume
#

test it, always love vamp being good

gusty oak
#

I shall conduct a test when I get home

#

I’ll try a swift sword+frenzy+vamp+the orbs of epicness build when I get home

#

Maybe I’ll throw vengeance in there for max tanking lol

glad flume
#

swift sword sucks

#

i do not recommend using swift to tank

gusty oak
#

Vamp speed boost to proc the crit

glad flume
#

yeah it works in bosses but the heal is worthless, not worth tanking. vamp is just for crit here

gusty oak
#

Yeah, the orbs will be the main heal source

glad flume
#

i c

gusty oak
#

Swift sword is just there for damage

glad flume
#

yeah makes sense

gusty oak
#

I’ll try to fish for +40% on elec too

forest ivy
#

also why tf is this called slight rework

#

it's a complete rework

glad flume
#

lmao

gusty oak
#

look im real dumb ok

prisma flint
#

true

forest ivy
#

delete this

gusty oak
#

maybe it could be implemented as a new weapon or something

forest ivy
#

maybe

#

but

#

it literally is wrenching whip 2

#

and wrenching whip is a very odd and generally uninteresting weapon

glad flume
#

suggest wwhip rework

gusty oak
#

Oh wait do the mutineers have their anchor available as a weapon? I forgor

clever yarrow
#

No

#

and someone already tried to suggest it

gusty oak
glad flume
#

shark wanted a charge attack for maw of the deep

#

that does that

#

it would just be a bad war javelin tho

gusty oak

grappling hook and flint
