I had a bunch of food left in barracks on armor stands after I made backpacks. I'm guessing it's a backpack bug? Like they load up for an expedition during training.

Try removing Mining, woodcutting and hunting from anyone in the military. It's possibly an old "civilian uniform" bug that apparently hasn't been fixed yet.

You can tell them to always wear their uniforms and it fixes this mostly
But that also isn’t a true fix, just a stopgap

I already have done that before, so thats not the issue. What I did was forbid every backpack in my fort. It´s not a fix but at least no more miasma....

I just stopped using animal products
It also works in stopping miasma
