I put together a lot of player suggestions as well as my own into one, cohesive thread for Dwarf Fortress Steam Edition on multiple forums. It covers different sections such as Tutorials, Click Intensive Activities, Tasks, etc. If you are interested in contributing, feel free to join in on the discussion and I'll add your feedback.

All this would add so much information for the player and remove so much tedium. Great list.

I hope the devs look at this suggestions too. The game would be even more great with this extras interface updates

Added a link to the second page (curse you word count!)

#

Updates are a little slow as I am trying to make sure the developers can easily identify where players will find issues.

I wonder if there should be a #suggestions channel to separate them out from genuine bugs.

I suggestion I have is bring back a more detailed status when hover the mouse to see the total of wealth. In classic version we can see some extra details like amount of works in the jobs

#

or this would be accessible to see in some other are because I don't found this information. Most of this stuff was already in the game then is registered in some place and I imagine is easier to bring back

#

and this have the advantage already show job too

#

When we rover the mouse in the steam version there is not the job details

I agree with this too. Seems like they went with dumbing down info to not overwhelm new players... But it just has the effect of hiding vital info

having an icon show up on suspended buildings, and also make a tool for easily unsuspend them or suspend the construction

be sllowed to select the building material before putting the wall/floor/anything

Small UI change, but right-clicking on a window, instead of closing it, should return back to the previous window, if you were drilled down multiple windows.

The game removed the idler dwarf counter?

dfhack has that feature

#

I also asked for it as a QoL improvement during beta

#

(very late in beta, there was not really time for that kind of thign at the point probably)

Nice, hopefully they aren't too far off from releasing a steam version of dfhack, although it may still be some time. After playing around with @silent barn suggestion, it would actually be more intuitive to do it this way, since you can only select materials that you have, and you get an exact count of how much of the material is available before placement. No more headaches when you select an object, try to place it, and an error shows up to let you know that you don't have the item.

#

There could also be a small counter somewhere on the screen to indicate how much of the material is left.
