After the events of the Darkest Lord, they trapped the curse back in the original box it lashed out of to attack Stan (Stan actually came up to the Otherworld with the help of Sarah using a specialized oxygen mask for him to be able to get up there)
bc Sophie's magic was entirely drained and she wouldnt in real life standards be able to get up that fast and still be able to fight even after being used like that😭
Now in miitopia as apart of my headcanons and lore expansion: Saving a curse is frowned upon bc of the evil deeds one has done and bc of the era miitopia would take inspiration from? All curses and evil forces must be destroyed so saving one is seen as an act of treason (rules set by King Reggie as he has the most power over the lands in which other leaders only and simply work alongside him)

tho in that case wouldn't they have to off Emma too? Considering the mc is the one that decides to save or destroy the curse with their own powers

And Emma being the kind hearted person she is begs Sophie that they save the curse bc its just a hurting soul, not realizing the pressure and rules set amongst great sages (generations of sages had ridded of curse after curse up until this point where it was Sophie's time to take one out)
Sophie being not only Emma's mentor but a MOTHER figure to emma (and they also see emma as their daughter figure)
And that my friend is a good question: Whilst Emma in game is the one to save the curse
In this AU, sage magic is more powerful and is the only thing that can save a curse and whilst Sophie is aware of the harsh reality if they go thru with Emma's pleas - they also can't live with the guilt of basically killing someone infront of a daughter bc the law tells them to

Making René first person and curse to be saved in Miitopia history (René is just a name i gave to this version of Reborn)
He doesn't remember much and can just abt get his speech out (he's also Eric's age, 19)
So you can imagine how young he probably was when he ridded of his own face a while back before possessing Stan who was focused on his work and having those doubts if this was the right place for him to be working at

i gave Sophie a proper Post-Darkest Lord design using the idea i had about Unbalanced Magic bc i assume she certainly put up a fight to keep control of herself but the curse overpowered her. So when emma and her team save Sophie, they manage to trap the curse back in its forbidden box till Sophie is more stable and awake.
Bc of her battle trying to get back control of her own body - it left a perm. strain/scar on her eye which is an example of unbalanced magic but bc of Sophie's power and them being a sage? Its evened out the magic tho they can still be a little unpredictable at times
She's kinda PARTIALLY blind in the eye thats damaged thru the fact it was the main hit and left a scar throughout but Sophie still fights to their best ability
