What things (specific stuff or categories) are worth trying to stock up on now, because they'll be irritatingly expensive to buy in the future?

I want to build a spectrophotometer with TSL2591. Is it possible to control a single LED with i2c light controller with stemma type of connector, so that I can pair it with TSL2591 light sensor without using extra GPIOs and soldering. could you please suggest if there is such an LED controller

It's hard to say as the market is volatile. There are things only made in China, like Espressif chips, etc.
