Any suggestions on what board to use for that ? I could use something else but need an expressif chip

the m7 is not espressif, so I thought you could use other things

#

did you want wifi?

"metro m7 with airlift" has it on the board, but using a breakout is an option

we don't have a circuitpython library for ESP-NOW for the AirLift

#

also the ESPNOW circuitpython support has some maybe significant open issues right now

#

as noted in the link above:

BNO055, BNO085 - Uses clock stretching, violates I2C protocol timing in some caes, and sometimes needs to be reset. Does not work well on i.MX RT10xx chips, ESP32, ESP32-S3.

There have been some I2C fixes on ESP32-S3 very recently and the BNO055 might work better, but I don't know that anyone has tried that yet. It would be CPy 9.2.0-beta.1 and later

#

I could try a BNO055 on a Metro ESP32-S3 with 9.2.0-beta.1 in a little while

#

i'll get back to you

Which ESP32 is the more "capable" recent one ?

on adafruit store

ESP32-S3 is the favored one now. But you require ESPNOW?

#

ESP32-S2 is ok too, and has fewer I2C problems. But as mentioned ESP32-S3, have to see whether BNO055 works

#

ESPNOW is on both

Great, yeah it's to read telemetry data from an hobby radiocontroller

don't get one without full USB, not C3, C6, plain ESP32, etc.

it broadcasts espnow of anything it receives
