Thanks and good night. 🌒
Thanks @open girder! Always fun. No longer parched.
"Quench your search." Well said. g'night all
Happy Tuesday
hello folks
Hello!
<harmonica train chugging sound>
Good afternoon.
Howdy @haughty quiver - great choice for this week's product
time for some pearl of wisdom for one and all
technical difficulties
Lots of wheel spinning on YT and Twitch
Yep - youtube is bolloxed
Here he is!
Seems better now
all good now
hey! I see a JEP
Long lag on YouTube, but it is watchable now 🙂
Nice shirt @haughty quiver !
Not out-of-sync lag - just a delay from the Facebook feed
this is my first metro style board! I ordered the M4 express
ahaa Scott with the "yesss lotsss of RAM". he had CircuitPython plans for it
Ooh, one of my favorite boards!
awesome looking board
❤️ the product reveal
the metro card was a nice touch @haughty quiver
The M4 is definitely the easiest to use CircuitPython on. Plenty of ram/speed and none of the oddities.
I had to pick up two for this price without even knowing what I'll use it for! I've missed too many of these bargains in the past. Not this time!
I know that story!
Welcome to the club!
The proto-shields are very handy
M4 is tuned for floating point math, too. Very speedy for many sensor apps.
is that wing shield available?
It's a good "macro" board for "refining" of "data".
This is the WingShield he mentioned https://www.adafruit.com/product/196
ok, so where is that eink shield now?
You last purchased this item on June 22, 2011.
me too. I have them from Hong Kong too!
#4299?
Just an FYI, I don't think there's actually a resistor on D13 on this board. Not that it matters for testing, but I'm pretty sure the resistor between the D13 pin and the onboard LED.
#4229 I mean?
tyvm
oh cool @inner spade !
Thanks for talking about the Helm synth. Been groovin`.
And if you need to add WiFi later, there's the M4 Metro AirLift
He has a very rare autographed shirt there.
And a dual DAC
Perhaps make a USB oscope and logic analyzer with this baby!
I2S audio support is better than RP2040. I2S pins are fixed.
ty!
Thanks @haughty quiver great show as always
Thanks JP!
Thanks @haughty quiver !
Great offering and presentation @haughty quiver !
Spouse always comes out and wants to talk while JP is on...
thanks much all!
Thanks @haughty quiver
Shhh JP is helping me shop....
I think it is the only live show with a timer that is watched in this household.
Very exciting
oooh got the box of neopixel strips from last week! that was quick. 🙂 Have a good day!
hey awesome! have fun neopixeling

@shadow epoch my son just filed his taxes for the first time and I feel so bad that he has now officially entered adulthood in this manner 🙂
Aw! That's awesome my son has been doing his own for a few years now. I'd be fine if I was better at accounting regularly. Small business, expenses... Our family stuff is easier (probably because spouse does them! HA!) Etsy and Ebay do not make it easy to get a year of data. For that matter neither does Amazon. sigh
oh ugh
@hard hollow has enabled many of us. 🍠 Thank you for your dedication to Excellenceiousness Noe. The synergy of your mcad expertise coupled with the open source libraries is enabling indeed.
you're very welcome! appreicate the nice comment 😄

hey all!
Is that a real LCARS panel from the actual Star Trek: TNG show?
yep
🎵 Turn the polarizer around, love to see the light show.
Turn it 90 degrees, love to see the shadow! 🎵
Ooh @haughty quiver That is tooooooo coooooool!!!!
I hope one of the buttons orders Tea. Earl Grey. Hot.
Star Trek for real
"There are FOUR lights!"
Man -- that was an episode, wasn't it?
Polarizers on lenses -- really helps with reflections & you can even cut through water to see under it slightly.
Congrats Liz! 🎉
Congrats, @split gazelle !

My itsybitsy won’t connect to Bluefruit app and I have the necessary code on the board. Please help
My teacher looked at it and couldn’t figure out what I was doing wrong
Is it possible it’s broken
@open girder
Is this your board, @candid surge ?
https://www.adafruit.com/product/4481
Yes
I totally want a Fluke multimeter keyboard
Great idea.
(except for that L-shaped Enter key)
A fun prank - putting a sign next to the motion-activated hand dryers:
"Now voice activated! Just say Alexa - turn on hand dryer! Remember to speak LOUDLY and CLEARLY, as this hands-free technology is new."
@slow spire please help
ThinkGeek's Tautaun sleeping bag was a rad joke that turned into a real product
@candid surge Have you read through this guide?
https://learn.adafruit.com/bluefruit-le-connect
Yes
You need to be transparent with your intentions when speaking on a clear telephone. ☎️
@waxen thistle I'm happy you're here tonight. 😁
Depends on the optics.
Also sometimes even trying to get the board to output something like (“Hello”) in the serial of mu is nearly impossible
Is it just broken
1980 clear telephone! Now we know where Jony Ive got his ideas for the clear iMacs
i have to pull out my clear Apple Newton
I suspect that's an aftermarket clear case...
No I bought it from the website
But I want it to be original.
It's good to be here.
That phone formfactor came in a lovely mustard yellow from Ma Bell.
That's the "good" keypad that you can use w modern keypad matrix projects, yay!
the older keypad has wild mechanical switching matrix and on-board oscillators 🙂

@turbid hill yeah it's operating much better after applying some silicone dielectric grease. not sure what's most appropriate, but I had it on and and it seems to have made a big difference
@candid surge -- dude. Not cool. You won't find a nicer group around.
I recommend you delete that last comment
it sounds like you're a student. That's not acceptable public behavior
On a side note @candid surge -- Adafruit has a soft three-strikes policy -- which allows you to learn from your mistake. On my discord, you'd never be heard from again.
@alpine radish everyone has been rude
@candid surge Please post on the forums at https://forums.adafruit.com, as everyone here is a member of the maker community, just like yourself. This is the channel for watching the live broadcasts -- so the "right eyeballs" aren't going to see that for troubleshooting.
Additionally, please be kind.
I’ve been nothing but kind
@haughty quiver it looks like from some googling that there was a clear phone form western electric
@candid surge I'm not sure what the issue might be, but I would try other cables, since you may have a flaky connection, based on your description of Mu intermittent serial connection
oh that's great!
I ordered the cable directly from adafruit and it works perfect of my circuitplauground
So idk
This you?
Listen dude. Stuff happens. Things go bad in this profession. In fact, things rarely go well.
You are in the live-broadcast chat.
Yes I am
@candid surge the protocols involved with this type of project can be troublesome. Bluetooth is a tricky thing. Macs, Windows, and Linux machines can have trouble recognizing boards. There are always tools you can use to track down the problems. Things don't work often in project development
This is the have fun chatting to adafruit time channel
But they owe you nothing.
@candid surge I'd also post on the Adafruit Forums: forums.adafruit.com. But I'd be patient with replies. We're mostly volunteers/other customers here.
it is fun here. This is a fun group
@candid surge This isn't a support chat. This is a maker community discord -- no official Adafruit support is on here. Any help is from fellow peers and makers, just like yourself.
As I mentioned above, please go to the official Adafruit forums at https://forums.adafruit.com for product support.
woohoo!
important guide graphic update!
Lol no help
love it!
whoa is that a todbot mention I just saw
for kicks, may I ask what kind of help you are looking for?
Dude -- I'm telling you, you're screwing up right now.
i just did. Stuiff goes wrong. DEBUG IT
That's not the kind of attitude that's going to get a EE off the bench.
Why I am a paying customer slightly disappointed right now
hey @candid surge calling folks "scum" is not the way to get help, so consider this the only warning
As I am dependent on this board for my final project
@candid surge Ask in the forums as recommended
@candid surge You won't find a more helpful community than Adafruit. When is your project due?
haha for a minute I thought the music was the actual pick-n-place robot making the sounds
@JL try the arduino or CP channel.
I hope they give you guys a tour of that building when it's done.
My project is due on Tuesday but I am supposed to used the same board for my final and it’s not working
Love this foot pedal. Really clever design with the potentiometer and bracket thing that moves it.
Is it a matter of just buying a new one ?
Jammin' project
i love the musical projects
Wutttt
yeah that pedal is dope. well done, @hard hollow & @rocky reef !
@slow spire can you please help me
that stand does not look level
Now I want to make a hotplate stand that's in the shape of a foot....why? why not? 🦶
@waxen thistle isn’t your job to help as a mod ?
@candid surge We're watching a live show right now on Adafruit products, so this chatroom will be full of other discussion for the next half hour.
Just so you know why there's so much other chat here.
But this live show is naked “ask an engineer “
true that
Bourns logo slaps
Named
and that PTC has gold racing stripes on the side!
@candid surge It's unlikely your question can be resolved in the 5 minutes at the end of the show. I'd post on forums.adafruit.com.
they take questions near the end of the show but best to post in the forum or in the help-with-circuitpython room
@candid surge I'd try troubleshooting yours, first.
@candid surge This is a chat of volunteers and community members.
Please visit https://forums.adafruit.com for official support.
Moderators aren't here for product support. Please review #welcome and #code-of-conduct before continuing on this discord.
I have like many hours
Unsure, my habit is to always buy two of everything if I can then if one blows up I can switch to the backup
Silistor is the house you don't want to get sorted into
why does that remind me of silicon resistor
silistor sounds like a villain from the He-Man cartoon
lol
@candid surge This kind of issue may have a quick solution, or not.
oh that is what that green part is
and that's why I wasn't able to kill that board permanently #themoreyouknow
I'll admit, when doing SMD soldering, wearing a surgical/covid-style mask sure helps accidentally sending a tiny component across the desk/room/into an alternate dimension.
my discovery of the year has been that any kind of mask makes scooping the cat box much more pleasant. or, less unpleasant perhaps
(don't have cats anymore but was recently reminded while taking care of a friend's cat)
I haven't had a cold in 2 years. 😷
i know right?>
I now use a mask while doing heavy gardening. So useful
me too! it's been great
Sony Spresense LTE Extension Board with Global SIM Card https://www.adafruit.com/product/5432
ssssprezenzzzze!
finally some embedded LTE boards! very cool
A kn95 was so helpful when putting out a small leaf fire next door to us last fall. It was one of those events where "we need to handle this NOW or it'll be out of control before the fire department arrives"....and it sure cut back on the smoke.
I wouldn't ever recommend using it as fire fighting PPE, but in a pinch, it really made a difference.

Good call @waxen thistle I would have just run in circles screaming until I passed out.
That's how I handle SMD soldering! How'd you know my technique? 😛
I'm a quick study of character.

oh yes S3 Feather thank you
Glad to catch the end of the show - long day
@open girder question: going to NYC for a few days this weekend for my first vacation in 2 years, what’s your best suggestion for a less known place to visit?
Good to see ya @pearl shoal -- hope things are going well for you and yours.
Exciting times. AOTA conference was eye opening. Glad to see the ESP32-S3 is out!
Applebees in Times Square 😛 [just kidding, sorry sorry]
Anyone know if BLE support for CP is working yet on it? (I just joined0
Question: I was flashing the ESP32-C3-DevKit-02 with the latest CP but on the download page it refers to it as ESP32-C3-DevKitC-1-N4 in title but wording in the description is ESP32-C3-DevKit-02 and after writing the bin file nothing happens. Did I get the right bin file.
Q: Yesterday, you shared a snapshot of the ENS160 VOC sensor breakout in the works on LinkedIn. While building the prototypes, would you solder this one by hand? If so, how would you verify there are no solder bridges underneath the sensor? I ask because there are 9 pads that are in a grid pattern.
In all seriousness, I love a Ukrainian diner in the lower east side called "Veselka". Delicious perogies and borscht.
My friend used to manage one, I know too much to want to eat at an Applebees now!
No -- go to somewhere classy.....like Chili's!
Question: on the ESP32-S3 is it BLE OR WiFi or is it possible to use both at the same time (as a bridge for example?)
speaking of super cute
Such a cool traffic signal! We need one of those!
Also, "The High Line" is a great elevated park that goes through a very nice area of Manhattan.
Question you sell a SPI Flash SD Card - chip format … any plans to put it on an ESP32 or S2
I would like to know this too. I think/hope it is the case both can be used
"The black wire goes to +5 volts" 😮
Thanks! Great suggestions
Behavior management systems for kids with self regulation issues would use those traffic signals!
@pearl shoal sorry, didn't mean to tag you on that.
Question: Where do you see the Maker/Hacker community and products 5 to 10 years from now? What things will stay the same and what might change?
Ooh the spinning blinka loading indicator is a such a nice touch.
Question— you sell a ESP32 Dual Antenna in the store .. any plans to make a board unfortunately it appears to be bigger than a feather)
LED borg cube.
I so want to make one now
that's an expensive game of minecraft
The panels are not that expesive
how cool an easter egg would "conway's game of life plays on the face of the borg cube" be!
don't make the borg cube smart
@turbid hill yeah but you need thousands or millions of cubes for minecraft
Naomi Wu was testing UV bulbs for "germicidal" uses - would that new UV sensor work to verify UV wavelength?
Link to any "germicidal"😂 UV devices you'd like me to test and I'll try to find them here and see if they're fake (hint: these are). https://twitter.com/RealSexyCyborg/status/1510811885591236611/photo/1
I hope visual programming actually happens in the next 5-10 years
I loved @proper trench's answer to the MIT group - we won't go away and AT projects will be more awesome
I think that's kinda happening with "no code"; and there have been a ton of attempts over the past 30+ years, of course
Question: I've been having a lot of trouble uploading code to the Feather S2 with Arduino; do I need to burn a new bootloader over the pre-installed UF2 one?
Question: what is a kind of touchscreen that could work outside, like resistant to rain and stuff?
thanks for the exhaustive coverage of Piunora 🙂
tuned in a bit late
@slow spire for sure, this area has been busy for a long time.
There are several (or used to be) barcades in the city -- they're always a hit. Food is decentish, and the games are cheap and fun 🙂
Probably resistive, with a waterproof flexible enclosure. I'd experiment with a resistive touch screen (can be used with gloves!) and a ziplock bag.
now I'm imagining if you could describe just the UI part of your program to the computer, what if it could make all the boilerplate to create those widgets in qt or whatever UI library you use ... "I need a screen with a place to enter your name and your favorite color"... boop done
Question: Is hot glue enough to protect wires from water in a plant for a plant sensor?
External waterproof buttons - no touch screen
I did rewatch it just now 😄
@robust horizon Welcome to HyperCard.
Thanks!
if you mean the Unexpected Maker FeatherS2, he has an active discord too
@nova totem send me an email too! pt@adafruit.com for places!
Q: Any plans to update the MagTag to use an S3 or C3 in the future?
Hot glue also gets soft and loose in heat on hot days... Definitely have learned that the hard way lol
Have you checked out any quantum computing platforms, what do you forsee as practical applications for like google cirq or Qiskit frameworks
Just want BLE for my Xiaomi LYWSD03/02 things 🙂
but yeah, that makes sense. The MagTag is really nice as is!
@nova totem If you want a candy store for the consumer technologist, then B&H Photo is probably the best camera & computer store you'll find.
I have a friend who's been interviewing for a job adjacent to quantum computing. that stuff's a real mind-bender
'night all!
Not to discourage, but just read this:
https://www.technologyreview.com/2022/03/28/1048355/quantum-computing-has-a-hype-problem/
Thanks @open girder and good night. 🌒
Thanks everyone!
Thanks @open girder !!! Love you guys!
@open girder Thanks for another excellent evening of shows! Special thanks to @hard hollow and @rocky reef for hosting Show & Tell!
Thanks for the show
Thanks @open girder !
Thanks Limor! Thanks pt!
Thanks @open girder and everyone!
thanks
Yay!
thanks ladyada and pt!

Oh good idea. I have ordered from them before for camera stuff.
Keep in mind, they shut down early on Fridays & are entirely closed on Saturdays -- as they observe Shabbat.
Check their website too for any other holiday closures.
Oh yeah i remember hearing that before. I’ve purposely not planned almost anything this trip to just see where it takes me. B&H may take me to the poor house 😂
I know exactly what you mean.
Their used section is....particularly dangerous to my wallet.
"Oh, this $500 item is marked down to $100 -- and about $150 cheaper than literally any other used marketplace? .....and you have two of them, Condition 10, like new with original box and plastic still on it?"
Ha you shouldn’t have told me that!
Oh, really. Cool
oops 🙂
I went through a large stack of papers today, and about half of them were Adafruit mailing lists 🤑🤑🤑
I'm not discouraged I just think that, we need new talent looking into the technology
I meant to say, “I just read this.”
Yeah, maybe so.
Ya I agree, but having read so many books on quantum mechanics, than experimenting with the technologies. I've at least gotta prove to myself that they have something more than an fpga that you can build circuits with in python.
I have a vision in my brain placed their by aliens that I need to see if it possible to reproducr

Evening mr Callaway!
I bought a Metro M4 for my son.
I'm confused. I'm not seeing the 50% discount on the Metro M4 Express.
That was a recap from Tuesday. Sorry.
Not severed — but how would you know for certain?
Ahh, I missed that part.
Indeed. How do we know anything? 🤔
Ah. Now it’s too deep for my shallow philosophical knowledge.
@inner spade made a tool to calibrate the touchscreen.
is this the one that Liz used recently?
Will there be pink LEDs in this stream?
There should be. 😉
Everything's better with pink LEDs...
That is really neat
You can change colors and stuff as well. Here's an Instructable I made: https://www.instructables.com/Colour-Changing-Packing-Tape-Art/
Way cool!
Thanks! 😀
Hi folks. Late to the party!
VESTAX Faderboard, an innovative sampler from Japan?
I use my laptop like that more often than I should admit
Hypnotic.
🙉
otherworldly
Sounds Adafruity
That's intense.
I think this is the I2C protocol it speaks: https://github.com/scanner-darkly/teletype/wiki/II-protocol but probably easier to just read the 16n faderbank source
ooo put the 16n below the LCARS and use the sliders to turn the different elements on & off
My neocontroller parts should be here today! 🤞
THanks @haughty quiver . Have a good weekend.
Does DigiKey stock pattern buffers?
Great workshop. @haughty quiver 👍
Also, Thonk has a 16n faderbank kit
Thansk JP
Thank you!
Thanks, @haughty quiver
thanks @inner spade for that link, looking forward to calibrating!
Thanks for the cornucopia of projects today, @haughty quiver !
@shell mason thank you always for having the best GIFs!
My six-slider MIDI instrument.
You’re welcome. Calibration is mostly useful only for small buttons and such. The defaults work most of the time as-is.
i want motorized faders!
2x2 makes a circle
Oh nice, that is true, I don't think I tested 2x2 but it could give you just the 4 corners by themselves which would look very circle like.
that would be nice project
It's also spelled "giraffe" not "jiraffe". At least in English, anyway.
Tomato tomahto.
After I die, if I find myself standing before Jod I’ll be prepared to defend my pronunciation choices. 😂
I believe it's whether it's said with a hard G or soft G

Did you figure out your refresh issue from last show
Do you want one function, _create_tab_tilegrid() with an active parameter, rather than separate functions?
Hello everyone, time to start my vacation! 🙂
According to Fran Blanche it is pronounced G. I. F. for Graphic Interchange Format https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=toFJW0g7tmY

the developer friendly customisation you've built in 🤩
Would like to see the primary tab color match the page background when activated.
Yes, so it would look like the same piece of paper.
Could create two tab objects from the same bitmap with different palettes.
The multi-neko code did it that way.
Yes, it would be easier if the tab only had three indexed colors; background, edge, and center zone.
The flexibility of the arbitrary image is a great feature. Useful for shadows for a groovy 3-d effect.
I'd be tempted to sort the tab objects so that the active tab was always in the top layer of the tab group. Makes tab width less critical, too. Probably would defeat using indexing though.

Thanks for the stream Foamy !
So what is "morning"? 🙂

Good morning.
Hello
Werror-implicit-function-declaration Give a warning (or error) whenever a function is used before being declared.
🎉
The larger external screen and controller board aren’t displayio compatible. It uses its own macro graphics language.
What if you made the default tile '5'?
Is OnDisk slower but uses less memory?
Has to be in memory between updates
And only updates if dirty?
May be in cache?
Have a good day.
Thank you!
Thanks!
Thanks all 👋
Thanks for testing with OnDiskBitmap. One benefit of using ODB is that it can handle more varieties of bitmap than adafruit_imageload.load().
The Desk of Ladyada - Mailbag & Spaceball 2003! https://youtu.be/RtzZV78-LxU
Mr Ladyada gave me this funky 3D mouse to play with today - it has a DE-9 plus power supply cable on it, so with a little googling and pySerial hacking we were able to get button and motion data out of it. Next up, we want to design a RS-232 Featherwing to make it easy to attach to these sorts of devices and send/receive data. Even though RS-232...
Good evening.
Happy Sunday, everyone!
howdy peeps
This is neat!
Super cool
That ball would make a great Kerbal Space Program controller.
It’d be great for air traffic control simulations and the like, too.
Question: I’m curious for supervisor ICs, how important is the threshold voltage? I was using a 2.5V one, but can’t seem to find any but I did order some 2.2V ones for a TFT controller. Will that affect things badly?
Q: How does one use Circuit Python's UART to transmit with even parity? I can't seem to find what value to use in the parity argument of busio.UART()
classbusio.UART(tx: microcontroller.Pin, rx: microcontroller.Pin, *, baudrate: int = 9600, bits: int = 8, parity: Optional[Parity] = None, stop: int = 1, timeout: float = 1, receiver_buffer_size: int = 64)
Thanks and good night. 🌔
@open girder Question… Waiting on ESP32-C3 boards … do you find them pretty friendly with Arduino? Or still something’s to work out being new ?
bye PT and Limor. Thanks
Yeah, I see that in the docs, the problem I'm having is what to use in place of None
Ah I saw that, hold on
busio.Parity.EVEN fails to import
classbusio.Parity
Enum-like class to define the parity used to verify correct data transfer.
ODD:int
Total number of ones should be odd.
EVEN:int
Total number of ones should be even.
let me take a peak at the source instead of docs
yeah, as far as I can tell, that Parity module doesn't actually end up in the build. Or at least it doesn't on a Seeed XIAO
Thanks for a great show
from the C source code: /// - parity is the parity, None, 0 (even) or 1 (odd).
hope this helps @lavish frost . I have never used the class
anytime my friend
my hardware is in many pieces at the moment but I'm excited to try that
@lavish frost I’m not in front of my computer, but busio.Parity isn’t a module, I don’t think. So I think you should be able do something like:
import busio
uart = busio.UART(tx, rx, baudrate=9600, parity=busio.Parity.EVEN, …)
It's been a few days since I was debugging it, but if memory serves
import busio
parity = busio.Parity.EVEN
threw an exception as did
import busio.Parity
Either way, if the constant EVEN represents is 1 that could be all I need
(Sorry, Discord client is acting up on my iPad right now)
Ha no worries, appreciate the help
You could also try adding:
import busio
from busio import Parity
But I’m on my iPad and not my computer, so I can’t test any of that right now.
🙂
I've put all these ideas on post it notes so next I have it all assembled I can try them all
If you can get the constants working, that’s probably safer than hard coding a 1, because there’s no guarantee that the value won’t change in the future… I think the odds of that are small, but not zero.
But according to the creator of the GIF, it's pronounced this way:
https://www.cnn.com/2013/05/22/tech/web/pronounce-gif/index.html

Adafruit IO is the easiest way to get your projects onto the Internet of Things!
my secret to detecting a problem for freezers is 20 minutes over 20 degrees. at that point it would have been dead for hours but still have many hours before things would have to be moved
Whoa, that's neat! What MCU are you using? How does it notify you?
pi zero ws and twilio. I use io for graphs so when i get a text i check the graphs
Cool! Gonna be sharing a basic cryptography project of mine 😉
I've always wanted to try home assistant. Is it worth it?
Hi people
Yes. Absolutely yes if you like tinkering and enjoy the satisfaction of a job well done
@proven crow I love cryptography projects!
I do love tinkering, however I don't mind if a project fails lol
(I still try my best)
mine fail all the time its nbd just know when to move on
Failure is a occupational hazard! It's good to be willing to fail
As long as I learned something, it was worth it
yes

Wow @radiant ridge. Like the way you integrated many systems and sensors to work with the food bank process. Your dedication and generosity are stellar.
If we had more people who do a good turn daily, the world would be a much better place. Very awesome project.
@radiant ridge try a shorter ribbon cable on the RGB matrix and see if that helps the glitch at all? also maybe some --led-slowdown-gpio= (depending on how you are driving it)

believe it or not, this is not a true random number generator
this is one of my areas. It's good but not random
there are proofs
but per our earlier conversation it's the thrill of the innovation that matters!
"Who's messing with the thermostat!?"
"oh comon, I'm playing a game!" 🎮
[the modern version of "I'm on the internet, don't pick up the phone!"]
the theory is that a sensor or any thing based on physical reality has some range it will respond thus reducing the total space
of the randomness
Great projects everyone. Thanks for sharing.
great projects everyone!

Thanks to all for giving us your time.
@proven crow hey, what was the u2if connect issue? curious if it might be related to some other issues that have recently popped up related to hidapi library changes.
thanks all. Thanks PT and Limor. @open girder
Thanks everyone for sharing such awesome projects -- from random number generation to vintage computers to service projects -- you can find it here at Show & Tell.
ah yes IPN-SNT
Great projects all!
One sec @strange mantle , let me pull it up
I used a bit of C code to do recursive seed generation based on pulling cpu tics then feeding it into another rnd then getting a different random from cmos clock sec counter and feeding all of that back in to rnd. It generated pretty good randmoness

Yeah my OS is using to 3.8 at the moment
I usually mix Python and C++ as need for production products. Sometimes node.js/TS/JS or Arduino
I had to setup some new environments so I typically start by using latest stable and regression, especially on a low criticality system
Also, I had to interview several Python engineers and I wanted to be super up to date so I could assess their knowldge
I have a Deb 11 vm and it's using 3.10 but my primary dev environment is KDE Neon based on 20.04 LTS and it's still 3.8
I know Python is an interpreted language, but is there any technical reason that would prevent someone from writing a compiler for it?
but now that 22.04 lts is out it is just a matter of time before KDE Neon will put out a updater to bring the 20.04 to 22.04
want python compilers they do exist https://hackr.io/blog/best-python-compilers

not surprising. It can be challenging to upgrade key components of a long term industry due to a (often ill-advised) desire for background compatibility, inter-operability, and laziness!

the equivalent Roomba vacuum that the Create 3 is based on is ~$300, so probably similar pricing
