Looking forward to getting my FM transmitters next week. Formulating some halloween-related thoughts. Hm...
Hmm, pumpkin that screams if you get too close?
@cinder wind How did you make the euro module with the touch pads being the same color as the module?
The white soldermask (with the black silkscreen) is printed on top of the copper traces of the PCB. In those copper traces are two round copper circles. Here's what just the top side copper looks like underneath the white soldermask
wow. that's really cool. Nice work. I just got a chance to view JP's Workshop.
Have you considered an "after dark" version with black soldermask and white silkscreen? :O
oh totally! just haven't gotten around to it. BRD files are there if you want to make your own ๐
https://github.com/TomWhitwell/RadioMusic/wiki/Audio-for-the-SD-Card the one's I was playing had a lot of baked in static.
@teal river I tried the website (Printed Circuit Board), but there is no way to sign up for the course. Any ideas
@alpine radish should be able to help you out @woeful pond
@haughty quiver Thank you Sir
some static generation could be nice
@haughty quiver by the way, great show. I'm now looking to get one of those Euro modules with the SD card. it seems pretty cool to play with.
@alpine radish Is it possible to help me sign up for the PCB course? The website does not allow me to sign for the course.
Excellent! The main place to get Radio Music kits is Thonk.co.uk
@woeful pond -- sure thing -- let me fix the problem. If not I'll manually input you.
@haughty quiver oh thanks. I'll check it out.
If you don't already have a Eurorack power supply I'm a big fan of this one https://www.tindie.com/products/p0k3t0/basic-eurorack-power-supply-kit-or-assembled/ and their busboard https://www.tindie.com/products/p0k3t0/basic-eurorack-busboard-kit/
@alpine radish Great. thank you
Okay -- I think it's bad copy-editing.
@woeful pond Try this link and let me know if it works! https://aapcb.typeform.com/to/PH7nZZ
@woeful pond in a bind you could probably use https://www.adafruit.com/product/2591 or hook up your bench power supply for -12VDC and +12VDC
@haughty quiver Ok, I'm a novice of this. So, I would need a power supply to run the module or would I use a separate supply?
@alpine radish That worked. It asked for an email. Thank you.
No, thank you for bringing it to my attention. I appreciate it!
@woeful pond FYI -- we're aiming for Oct. 11th start date. Do you mind if I ask how you heard about the course?
@woeful pond it is a whole deep rabbit hole :) Starting from ground zero you'll need some sort of case (can be hand made from cardboard or wood or 3D printed to start), and a power supply with -12VDC/+12VDC and +5VDC for some modules. That one power supply is usually made to power a bunch of modules in your case, hence the breakout busboard, or a "flying" ribbon cable with lots of IDC connectors on it.
@haughty quiver Ah, yes the tindie equipment looks good. I think I will order those two. I'm looking at the thonk.co.uk site now.
Also -- just to let you know why we have the extra step -- I got absolutely spammed to death by internet robots creating fake accounts. Likely due to the free software I was using (Moodle). We put it through typeform, goes to an assistant, who then determines if it's a valid submission.
Here you go! You'll also want a few 3.5mm TR (mono) patch cables if getting multiple modules to patch together. If just getting the one module, not necessary. Note, the audio level from Eurorack modules is "hot" compared to typical line level gear.
@haughty quiver ok, that sounds like a good project
That's why I was going through that Pico Output module on the way to the FM transmitter breakout.
@haughty quiver Ahhh ok, I get it now.
but if you already have a mixer or other way to reduce gain it isn't strictly necessary.
Tom Whitwell also designed this module to take care of a few common tasks in a starter rig https://www.thonk.co.uk/shop/startup/
it's got a simple fixed level mixer, headphone out (so line level), and a clock source with divider/multiplier.
Last warning before you buy Eurorack hardware: try it out in VCV Rack first! It's free :)
VCV..is that a computer app?
VCV Rack - the Eurorack simulator. Free download
Ok. I think I saw this on one of your videos
simulator for Eurorack. You can get the Radio Music module for it for free, too.
Try before you buy :)
@haughty quiver Good idea . Good info to guide me into the rabbit hole. lol
Red pill = Eurorack hardware. Blue pill = free software.
@haughty quiver what is the name of the module with the SD card? I don't see it on the thonk site
Blue pill.....Looking at the red pill lol
It is called Radio Music: https://www.thonk.co.uk/shop/radio-music-full-diy-kit/
it is out of stock right now it seems, but they restock pretty frequently.
Impromptu streaming for a bit tonight working on Tilemap game helper library if anyone is interested: https://www.twitch.tv/foamyguy_twitch
So as a suggestion would it be wise to get the DIY KIT and play with the VCV?
So, I can take the blue pill, while getting the benefits of part of the red pill
That sounds like a reasonable plan :)
@alpine radish I heard about the course on Discord during "Ask an Engineer' which @teal river posted
Sweet -- thanks! I'll have to see if @haughty quiver will let we swing by again next week. Might not -- could be considered too promotional. But if he does, I'm going to turn the enthusiasm up to 11. ๐
I was thinking of a preliminary project (if that makes sense) to use that module to trigger sound and switching stations with sensor(s) possibly. just a thought
Right on, very cool. One other thought -- not to dissuade anyone from diving into Eurorack, but you could tackle a similar project with a MusicMaker featherwing or other SD card based audio file player.
Agreed. I grabbed one 50% from your show. lol
Someone linked during the show and it took like 2 hours to download XD
Also all the links except the Google Docs one were broken
notes doc for today: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1CWuxKEn90TtDppgBLC_loW2Ue6WdWdgKT0qHqQKG804/edit?usp=sharing
Deep Dive w/Scott Hi all, this doc is try and track topics and timecodes for my deep dive stream. These notes will end up in the YouTube videoโs description. Any help keeping them groomed as I stream is welcome. Housekeeping Iโm sponsored by Adafruit to work on CircuitPython. Support them, and...
Howdy all, hope everyone's well today!
YouTube looking and sounding good
Hola from 'rado ! ๐
Suddenly quiet on my end?
yup, I see
Iyt'
Audio is back
It's back!
Lol
Hewwo!
HI Scott, how are things going?
This sounds ok though, nice and clear.
ugh, computers !
Howโs everyone doing?
I have ritonni!
Audio & USB is Linux is dogz ballz
I thought it was gonna be CP on Pi? Or is TinyUSB precursor work?
speaking of USB - reading http://janaxelson.com/usbc.htm to learn more now!
yup tinyUSB is the first step
Ahh
Sound okay on Twitch turned all the way up
@teal river yup, need a ay to get CP on there... if no OS, nothing to control USB.
@timid plover don't read too much - you'll want to shoot yourself ๐ฆ
I thought it was gonna get loaded on a card like Raspbian gets loaded XD
you're sounding okay but the sound disappears occaasionally
Well i'm having fun with software i2c on esp32s2
@timid plover maybe you can do this?
Can we put a link to the Deep Dive Repo in the links at the bottom of the. YT notes ?
https://github.com/adafruit/deep-dive-notes
I bloody hope not!!! That would be a sucky way to do it ๐
No worries, nice and relaxed startup is a fine thing
i'm on both chats. multiple identities
Hi from Costa Rica
Lol, I guess using it over USB like any other CP board would be nice
good timing! I'll be on vacation that week, that's a nice bundle of pleasant chance right there
Maybe Spook can do a livestream ... ?
VIn doesn't like your voice? D:
Cats are the harshest critics.
I can't help that I'm honest
"CircuitPython driver for OV7670 cameras" could be setup ...
Q for anyone - is there any support for gpio_hold and deepsleep_gpio_hold in CPY ?
I asked Scott a few weeks ago. He suggested trying pin alarm to pull the pin high or low. I couldn't get it to work on the FeatherS2.
i'm was just wondering about that or similar. Are there hooks board specific to turn stuff off and on.
oh it looks like so much fun on that desk
Imagine CP on the CM4 with a GPU to play with
So can i disable some power domains on a board going into deep sleep.
Which MacroPad shortcuts you got on that ?
That wold only work on a RTCIO pin - IDF/Arduino can hold any pin.
I'm gonna mount my custom split keyboard like that!
I fell in love with SALEAE logic years ago, when $149 bought the original LOGIC. Then years later, when I wanted to buy one for myself, they had gone from a maker-friendly reasonable-profit model to what-the-market-will-bear pricing model. Couldn't justify it. So hobbyist, makers, have to turn to sigrok/pulseview....
I used a RTCIO Pin, but the device I was using had an internal pull up that was smaller than the ESP32-S2's internal pull down. The ESP32-S2 constantly woke up.
i'm using a digilent discovery. can't remember what i paid for it
So what's the biggest advantage you expect to have using a Pi with CP on bare metal?
CP on HDMI sounds awesome :D
Ohhh, I didn't know the GPU did that... funky
Situations like should not be using internal pullups/down, but external resistors anyway. I fear that the new "buy an board and some modules and plug then in and it just works" - is allowing people to forget some basic electronics and thinking about doing things like adding external resistors ๐
It was a featherwing. ๐คท (Which proves your point)
Raspberry Pi had to agree to some closed source things to get the Pi into the world; but the things that are closed source are mostly like, the core designs and internal stuff that doesn't really matter, especially for CP on Pi
yeah, wings/shields should supply hardware resistors for situations like that. Even ones with solder jumpers to enable/disable.
@rapid hornet only if it looks like a C64 !!
Emulate the C64 OS on top of CP on a Pi, lol
Can you use a vm and run raspbian and CPPi
Since the GPU starts up the CPU cores and all... could you have 4 instances of CP across the 4 cores run independent of each other?
Lol
If there are enough PCIe lanes, maybe each core could be given a USB controller on a PCIe lane...
Actually, I can Google that, lol
Yeah, PCIe Gen 2 x1
was the array also on the stack ?
You can't use GDB?
So is it running from the card?
7s? Thatโs a lifetime at this level!
oof
What are they doing in that GPU for so long?
so this is non-interrupt uart output
any watchdog timers going off?
If folks are interested in trying out ideas with displayio outputting to HDMI it's possible to use Blinka_Displayio to do it today. But it is worse performance-wise than this bare metal Pi will end up being, especially for anything animated or moving around on the screen.
that would be good - to populate all the other exception vectors!
funny that the char array vs. char pointer made a difference.
foamyguy... what's the display init for Pi displayio hdmi?
EL are 1, 2 and 3
It doesn't initialize the display in the traditional way. It uses this https://github.com/FoamyGuy/Blinka_Displayio_PyGameDisplay to "hook up" Blinka_Displayio to a PyGame window.
cool, thanks
Kudos to Scott and the CP team! I got CP running on this faster than it took me to solder it and assemble it.
"I don't know if that worked" is such a core and true debugging statement
how do other working demos and linux initialize the registers?
Looking forward to the next level devices we will be able to put together once CP runs on PI4
I'm curious about the additional use cases as well...
but I also think this is inline with the get CP to people with the tools they already have so they start learning...
That 2 would be the 26th bit I guess
Does the IO have different trust zones that need setting up first?
Correction the 25th (Iโm off by one a lot :p)
you had gdb working and breakpoints - could you instructio trace in gdb till it crashes?
I have returned, but I can't find breadboards...
like instruction allignment ?
VIn!
very low level "print" to a pin debugging ๐
What did you change?
Have you seen this stuff
https://github.com/rsta2/circle
nothing like bare metal bringup for fun times
"Circle is a C++ bare metal programming environment for the Raspberry Pi. "
remove the IO stuff, does it run
what does logic analizer show on pins?
he has a startup64.s as the initial setup
yes, i was thinking about looking there first. but found this
Wow, I didn't realise there were so many bare metal rPI projects out there
how is the stack initiazed in the way the debugger expects ( something standard )
Those are some awesome pudding keycaps
doesn't gdb have a way to "hexdump" memory
to manually look at the registers/backtrace
Team pudding!
if EL=0 in cpsr were you at EL2 ?
can you set a hardware watchpoint on execution of 0x200 ?
yep - missed that ๐
@teal river I bet yours isn't a raspberry pudding!
No, it's Glorious pudding, lol
"I've never done this before" == ADVENTURE!!!
Is there a virtual jlink for qemu?
oh! didn't know you could emulate RasPis with QEMU? Does it emulate arm74l arch?
The Arm Docs are quite handy sometimes
yeah it was the only one i could find quickly
I'm also reading documentation on bootig the blackfin boot process - any bfin experience here?
I was actually checking the doc to see if it was helpful
only 53 pages or so. ๐ at least this is distracting me from what i'm actually trying to get working
so what do the other bare metal system demos do to freeze the gpu?
Donโt look up the Arch reference (DDI0487G). Itโs almost 9000 pages
you thought that the gpu was inteferring with our code
some gdb implementation has a step backwards feature
maybe x86?
Reverse Execution (Debugging with GDB)
TIL that ARM EL numbering uses a convention reversed from x86 rings.
i only wrote 8 lines of arm assembly. ever.
I wrote more than a thousand but it was back in 68000 days and I havenโt touched it since!
well i did write a system monitor for the z80, byt that was easy in comparison to this
showing my age
same same
never trust so many zeros ๐
Ducks? :O
TB mentioned in https://wiki.qemu.org/Features/TCGCodeQuality - is it Translations Blocks (TB)
rabbit holes after rabbit holes.
Itโs very reassuring to me to see you struggle as much as I sometimes do ๐
tb is a single step breakpoint AFAIK
are you trying to quit tracing or all of gdb
Found Ctrl-A X
when running with -nographic
Because CTRL+C is supposed to be sent to the emulated machine I guess. So you need to escape first. Iโve seen this CTRL+A convention on serial monitors before.
It's so stuck in my brain that Ctrl+C is copy it's weird for me seeing it used for other tasks. But of course it's just another key combo that can be whatever it needs to.
gpio issue
perhaps have a macro to validate the return address before doing the return ( or is that just telling you the stack is hosed )
Out of convention key combos break me sometimes -- doing CP on Mac, it drives me crazy because I forget that THAT stays Ctrl+D for going to REPL, vs. everything else is Cmd+[key] like copy and paste
there's the python hooks in gdb
Oh shoot, I didn't realize how late it was, I gotta go out for my walk before it gets too dark XD ttyl, good luck Scott! Seeya next week!
lol I just want to go to the moon...
Bai!
This was really nice. Thank you for showing the process of this one! It's something neat!
Thanks Scott !
I shall wait for kitty pets since it's so close...
Thanks!
Thanks @timid plover !
Bet you will work it out when you quit ๐
thanks scott, later all
Off on my walk I go!
Thanks scott haver a good one
thanks all!
you too scott!
here is the repo with my code: https://github.com/tannewt/tinyusb/tree/rpi
Starting up my stream in just a moment. I'll be following up on a few PRs and then doing some hunting for 'good first issue` tasks today. You can hang out with me here in the chat and follow along on Twitch: https://www.twitch.tv/foamyguy_twitch or Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s9w8FIx2XbQ
Hey foamyguy! Today I'm driving a Feather-M4 and tinygo. Too wet to play outside.
Need more speed for some audio projects.
For the feather-m4 it uses UF2.
Kinda like C/C++, but kinda not.
package main
import (
"machine"
"image/color"
"time"
"tinygo.org/x/drivers/ssd1306"
"tinygo.org/x/drivers/ws2812"
)
var leds [1]color.RGBA
var neo machine.Pin = machine.WS2812
// const must be a primitive, no structs allowed
// so these are vars
var white color.RGBA = color.RGBA{255, 255, 255, 255}
var black color.RGBA = color.RGBA{0, 0, 0, 0}
const DisplayWidth = 128
//const DisplayHeight = 64
func main() {
neo.Configure(machine.PinConfig{Mode: machine.PinOutput})
ws := ws2812.New(neo)
leds[0] = color.RGBA{R: 0x00, G: 0x04, B: 0x08}
ws.WriteColors(leds[:])
machine.I2C0.Configure(machine.I2CConfig{
Frequency: machine.TWI_FREQ_400KHZ,
})
display := ssd1306.NewI2C(machine.I2C0)
display.Configure(ssd1306.Config{
Address: 0x3C,
Width: 128,
Height: 64,
})
display.ClearDisplay()
x := int16(0)
y := int16(0)
dy := int16(1)
for {
//ws.WriteColors(leds[:])
pixel := display.GetPixel(x, y)
if pixel {
display.SetPixel(x, y, black)
} else {
display.SetPixel(x, y, white)
}
display.Display()
x = (x + 1) % (DisplayWidth/2)
y += dy
if y == 0 || y == 62 {
dy = -dy
}
time.Sleep(1 * time.Millisecond)
}
}
It's a 128x64 grayscale OLED.
Yeah there is a driver package, not as many as CircuitPython.
It's a while True: loop.
git grep --no-pager
git --no-pager grep ...
๐ค The adafruit_pid prompt in cookiecutter, what does it mean?
That's cool and easy. Maybe the prompt should be adafruit_product_id.
Writing an issue for cookiecutter now.
Annoying JSON misfeature: can't handle trailing commas.
Adafruit should offer tours like Sparkfun.... I'm sure people would love to take them, and pay well too
I know I'd love to take one
Yeah.... maybe after ๐ท
Yeah, I saw that
๐
Yesssss
Jumpin' crawdads! The Doctor has arrived!
Hallo! Can't join the stream, but here I am!
Hey there Doctor. Hope you're having a good day
You too! I just have coffee and a headache and mystery Discord badoop badoops
Can you start a petition?? LOL. I'd literally fly to NYC to take one ๐ซ
Maybe after plague...
Does Doctor need a Doctor??

Not sure what the current error is.
subprocess.check_output() returns bytes. You'll want to use output.decode() before using output as a string.
Need to actually call 'decode'.
Gotta run, have a good day.
my audio issue was an OBS setup mistake!
At least you figured it out for next week!
Oh, Scott, question for you since you're here... Is this channel only for Adafruit folks to use when streaming, or can non-Adafruit folks stream when Adafruit isn't streaming?
Late start from me
The following may work but no bets
gh issue create --title "Missing Type Annotations" --body "`cat output.txt`" --label "good first issue,documentation"
@teal river you are welcome to use this server and channel as long as it doesn't conflict with other streams and follows the code of conduct
Did your quotes match?
Aweome! Might stream some project work some time...
Full checkout the Bundle
cd into each submodule directory
run your script .......
Or is that what git submodule does?
Have a great weekend
Thanks all ๐
Hi allโฆ. Is there a Desk of Ladyada this Sunday evening?
Probably soon
probably some time around Ladyada o'clock
The reason Desk of Ladyada hasnโt started yet is because Limor is on stage at the Emmyโs getting her Emmy for best educational program
Best theory I have ๐
on in 10 ๐
We need hacker Emmy awards

Desk of Ladyada - STEMMA QT & Microphone Breakouts https://youtu.be/gOt6biuRrFA
On yet another stemma sunday, we're revising our ancient HT16K33 LED backpacks to include QT connectors - we're also going to try to 'unify' two or three of the layouts so they can share the same PCBs. We're also interested in redoing some of our microphone breakouts so they're easier to use in a classic stemma breakout shape. We put together bo...
Hewwo! I'm doing server upgrades XD
ayyy hello!
Hey PT, did you get a chance to look into the material specs of the packaging Adafruit uses?
YES!!!!!!!!
Yay
Mmm 7 segment
hi there!
not 6 but seven
Question: what happened with the two ESP32-s2 feathers designed?
Yay backwards compatible design upgrades!
Feather ESP32-S2 and the TFT ESP32-S2 feather
Sharing resources for higher efficiency good
Even if it's not much, you're reducing waste!
Oh cool ๐
I made an ESP32-s2 feather with the mini module
Havenโt ordered PCB or anything yet though
Mostly because the mini module Iโm looking at wonโt be available till November lol
what's the biggest ram/flash config they have for the mini module ?
N4R2?
I found this part with the Digi-Key mobile app. https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/ESP32-S2-MINI-1-N4R2/1965-ESP32-S2-MINI-1-N4R2CT-ND/14553023
Order today, ships today. ESP32-S2-MINI-1-N4R2 โ WiFi 802.11b/g/n Transceiver Module 2.4GHz PCB Trace Surface Mount from Espressif Systems. Pricing and Availability on millions of electronic components from Digi-Key Electronics.
This is what I want to use
ah that's reasonable specs
drop-in replacement mini modules ?
Probably not, but maybe weโll get lucky
the 8MB S3 will be nice... more room for user files, I have a couple of those devkits on order, hopefully end of october
Looks like they only have WROOM on Digi-Key
it was confusing... they are calling some things wroom now that have more RAM
The ones with off module antenna can do 16Mb of Flash and 8MB RAM
Oh looks like PCB antenna ones too
so FeatherS2-like
I imagine thatโll be like $10
except module
Basically
I think ~22KHz is the absolute max for human hearing, 20KHz average max, but yeah, eventually 15KHz max
PT!
Did you find out about the Adafruit packaging material?
Thanks and good night. ๐
Bai!
nighty night
Night ๐
Guess I gotta poke on Ask an Engineer XD
back in the vault, don't ask :p
Lol
Lol
there are at least two Feather S2 boards out there, maybe Adfruit just doesn't feel any urgency to grab away their market share
I'd love a 240x135 TFT FeatherWing
request to Feather board designers... please put buttons near the open ends of the board, it's hard to reset if not when there's a wing on top the processor ๐
I usually put some kind of display on a Feather, even if it's only a 7-segment
The Ultimate GPS wing has a reset for the Feather :D
yeah, there are a few like that
nice touch
or the display wings where the feather plugs in to the bottom
Hmm
Do they make smaller stacking headers? Would be cool to be able to stack 2+
shorter? not sure, but you can stack more than two
Shorter would be good so you didn't have 6" tall stacks... Like, the actual Feather doesn't need as much space been it and the Wing as it gets with standard height headers
Actually, yeah, they do make shorter headers
yeah, afaik the option then is to go laterally withe doubler/tripler/quadrupler
shorter stacking headers?
that would be cool
Iโd love to try a tft feather
I'm sure there are too many Wings and not enough pin combos to do all, but I can see it being great to stack like the GPS module and a display Wing with buttons
But the GPS Wing on standard headers makes it taller than the Feather is wide
by default I just put stacking headers on everything but displays, so mix and match stacks at will
I have none XD but they get really tall, yeah?
dunno, I've only done maybe 4 high other than as a joke
nothing put together atm but this is how I store my spare / deprecated processors
I abandoned 8266s for ESP32s, then abandoned those for M4+Airlift, and now I'm on S2s o_O
๐
I still have some ESP32s in "production" monitoring stuff around the house, but I've been switching over to CircuitPython over the past 2 years
Well, if they have BLE they might still see service yet ๐
The Circuitpython for ESP32 issue was reopened under the BLE option

Tofu hard
Tofu squishy
I wonder if the tofu would go through a meat grinder if you cooked it right. I can get the spices to work, it's the texture. Most Soyrizo here is waaaay too spicy for me.
Too bad, too - TC's good
my ada-cart is full ! getting those magic scissors this time
Spicy's not a problem for me - I grow 23 different varieties of peppers, including Ghost
I'm a spice weeny, so soyrizo is exotic for me

So this is JUST the board without the squishies, right?
correct
oh no my cart thinks there are batteries so usps is not an option, but i have no batteries in my cart
Too bad you can't do a double product pick :O
Oh the light up key switch key chain probably has a battery, nm
Ah, yeah
Need 4 pads to cover the board I'm guessing?
Do you need the squishies to use these?
Yes, batteries in keychain(s).
One board is 4x4, cover is the same
My four arrived yesterday.
So 4 for the 2 board x 2 board config
will CERTAINLY have power problems LOL
Is it just me, or is that a giant STEMMA connector?
its the big honkin STEMMA
Ohhh, I didn't realize there was a big and little version of STEMMA, I thought it was all STEMMA QT
STEMMA QT is a bit newer than the neotrellis
The original STEMMA connector not the smaller STEMMA-QT (quite tiny)
A good example of the changes in technology after only 3 years.
Debating if I should buy Plopwaffles
I have no idea what I'd do with them and have TONNES of parts already
I mean.. he could whether the AdaGods approve is another question

Could you "Grow" your Neotrellis from the Adabox with this?
Ok I'mma do this

unfortunately no
I want garish mode, @spiral vale. All buttons a different color.
That was 8 of them?
Synthwaves
yeah 4x2
there is a version of the firmware that does that
Cool cool
or 8x16 buttons
The M4 controller from the adabox is not actually tile-able with the neotrellis boards - at least not in Arduino. Might work in CirPy
Oh wait, I have enough coinbits to do this :O

ALL: which matrix driver am I supposed to use with the 64x64 LED Matrix like PID 3649? There seems to be several of thenm.j. One is half the price of the other but I don't understand if they accomplish the same thing?
Yeah, Bitcoin, I'm just silly and say coinbits
Excellent use of the stickvise
oooh lol
If anyone familiar with getting the drivers for connecting a MacroPad to connect right with a Win 7 laptop. I tossed a help request on "help-with-cicuitpython" & would really appreciate the input.
most 64x64 matrixs are hub75 some of adafruits are simply hats that reside on arduino or raspberry pi or you have the standalone one esp32 m4 one
Good job on the parallel bus work @robust horizon
there is a feather hat for hub75 also
If CP can have instances run on multiple cores, especially when Scott gets it running on the Pi, that would be super cool
oshw4eva
@ebon stratus the easiest way is the matrixportal, which has the microcontroller & connector built in. Otherwise, there are a couple of featherwings that are compatible with specific microcontrollers. with the "hub75" rgb matrices, there are often severe restrictions on which pins may be used, so a different board is necessary for each microcontroller basically.
Yay RP2040!

QUESTION: Hello everyone! I'm very new to all of this, just figured out how to light an LED haha, so my technical knowledge is very low, but I'm trying.
I've made a project with a 555 timer and I would like to sync up a sound file on the board to the fading of the LED. I've been able to use a calculator on line to figure out that the lights fade at 2.786 seconds. My issues is that the board takes 120ms to recognize and start playing the sound file, and there is a 20ms break between the loop.
My question is, is there a way to play a copy of the sound file but adding 120ms to it, then have it move to the 2nd sound file with 20ms added and have it loop that? I've been able to get the sound file to loop and get pretty close to the fading of the LED, but eventually it will desync and I'm guessing this is due to the initial start up time of the 120ms.
I figured I could do the T00NEXT0 but that would then restart at the first file once the 2nd file is played.
ghost in the machine?
That's Gandalf. Do. you even watch Battlestar Galactica, bruh?
Hi all, unfortunately I can't see the stream today, but I'll watch it later.
Some black light bulbs have little to no UV output :O so like you said, NOT the same as UV bulbs!

Welcome @proven quest I'm new also.

Paramount distributed the live-action 2017 GiTS movie but Disney had some involvement that I can't quite decypher .. extract from wikipedia:
Ghost in the Shell was originally scheduled for release on April 14, 2017, by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures through their Touchstone Pictures banner.[38][39] The film was part of DreamWorks' distribution deal with Walt Disney Studios, which began in 2009.[40] In April 2015, Disney moved the film's North American release date to March 31, 2017, with Paramount Pictures handling international distribution.[30][41] However, it was reported in September 2015 that DreamWorks and Disney would not renew their distribution deal, which was set to expire in August 2016.[42] In January 2016, Disney dropped the film from its slate after DreamWorks finalized their distribution deal with Universal Pictures in December 2015.[43][44] Disney's distribution rights for the film were transferred completely to Paramount instead of Universal, with Paramount retaining Disney's release date of March 31, 2017.[43] The film was not screened for critics before its release.[45]

Question: Can one work for Adafruit without using social media?
CyberOS
"fiducial"
@teal river I don't use FB/twitter/linkedin, so it depends if you think github or discord is social media I guess
PalmOS!
EETech is always looking to burn through writers -- good way to get a small amount of money while building your portfolio.

Adafruit glasses where its made from PCB
probably more productive w/o social media distracting

You guys rock! Keep it up @open girder
@noble grove I was thinking just buy cheap sun or reading glasses from the dollar store and affix the LED glasses to them.
I do not -- GitHub is a code collaboration platform, not really meant to be social. Discord is more akin to a room full of people
