Excellent. The giant 7-seg project was one of my favs. Nice to see it adapted to MakeCode!
As a sidenote, I created an issue on github, to ask if it is possible to add translations to the Adafruit's makecode. (Other such as the BBC have it applied and look nice in spanish)
Thanks @gusty wedge !
oh yeah what's the preferred mechanism to ask for feature requests to MakeCode? I would love to see it have dictionaries in addition to normal arrays
@haughty quiver Can you make it so it color cycles on the lit segments?
@cinder wind I opened a feature request here.
https://github.com/microsoft/pxt-adafruit
Thanks @gusty wedge I was wondering if that was the appropriate place. It seems to be
@sage aspen as in animated color cycles on them? That's cool, I'll try it out.

Travel has always been a challenge for those outside major cities. I'm originally from rural PA, and it was hours/days of travel to major industry events. And forget about the budget for hotels, food, etc.
If there is a silver lining to the utter tragedy of Covid, it's that there's been a massive amount of understanding for those remote and unable to attend such events -- regardless of a pandemic.

that's how a lot of my personal scripts are for sure
the svd stuff is a pain to set up but pretty useful for inspecting hardware registers .. scott and danh both could tell you about how to do it, I forgot again already
pyOCD allows you to do a lot of python stuff. I'm not sure if it's a droping replacement for openOCD. I've used it before to do unit testing on embedded code in the past.
since you want to catch the high offenders ( e.g. the 700 ) is there a way to classify the allocations and dump out enough information that a pareto chart can be created - would profiling help ?
On the C code you had the < pointing to one side, and on the commentary, > pointing to the other way.
Noup, very cool.
What are other places that it is assumed that optimization would be a nice thing?
what other profiling tools are available - either in the C or python sides ? ( eg developer level - or user level profiling )
I agree - that the memory optimization is higher priority - many side effects from improved memory usage!

Good evening all you wonderful folks!
Hi @waxen thistle
whoa man, I didn't know it was possible to have less than 42 tabs open on a browser at a time

The iGEM community, which is huge will probably love this sensor. It seems to be good enough for detecting color changes in bio-hacking applications.
Woah. For someone who enjoys a nice flashlight, CRI info is so hard to dig up.
For some LED emitters, you're lucky if you get broad descriptors like "cool" or "warm". It's nice that digikey went though the effort
Would those large pads on the LEDs are for heatsink/ as well?

meanwhile, playing with implementing the concepts in https://hackaday.com/2020/05/17/look-ma-no-support-for-my-floating-holes/ in openscad. Halfway there, I think.
(2nd is my model in progress, showing just the shape to be subtracted, for a M3 nut to floating hole)
however, M3 is small enough that it's hard to see up in there ๐
This technique definitely worked for me. Saves a lot of blobs inside of nut holders. However I found it to be a pain to do the design on a lot of holes. Does anybody have tips on how best to automate it or make a pattern to replicate this in Fusion360?
I'm guessing that the same technique of making a stepped bolt model and subtracting it would work in Fusion360 too.
Makes sense. Usually I think in terms of sketches and extrusions. Youโre right that making and repeating the stepped bolt model to subtract will save a lot of sketching. Makes perfect sense once you said it.

@rapid hornet I don't know models specifically (heard of them in passing), but there are some lower cost "vlogger" cameras that have been just released -- intended just for streaming with a fliparound screen, super smart autofocus tech, etc.
