yes!!!
@lethal lagoon But who would foot the bill?
that's it, @river peak i'm putting my foot down
i was waiting for the other shoe to drop
i want to try to do a MIDI thing with it
everyone is on their toes tonight
@split gazelle What does @lethal lagoon 's cat have to do with it?
If you foot switch doesn't work is that a de-feet?
because it would be pawsitively awesome
@split gazelle MIDI -- perfect for tap-dancing.
I'm a little worried that if we continue, someone's going to get socked.
that would be some feet
No mean feet, but stinky feet maybe....
It's a step in the right direction.
You gotta try that new order eater filament....
It's truely a shoe-in
555 toes , flip flops
great feeture
a 556 maybe, 2 flip flops
If you can't stop iterating the design, it's feet-ure creep.

@river peak My mike is turned off.
perfect for a holophonor
we should do voice chat during the shows!
lol
That would be excellent
@rapid hornet before i forget...need to revisit the serial_connected for the new nRF. if the UART chip actually turns off...we can capture that.
is there still an issue getting the volume control on the speaker bonnet?
My comfort level with typing is several orders of magnitude greater than my comfort level with speaking.
Can you use the code with Adafruit resellers?
we need those rapid fire puns @river peak
M4... Nice
@lavish patrol naa, that would be up to resellers and we have 2,000 of 'em
@river peak is a pun gun
then we can have another discord channel for livebroadcastchatchat
@open girder Ill ask my local.
@split gazelle My average phone call length over the course of my entire high school career (I could check, I had the same phone and it kept those stats!) was something like 39 seconds.
You could try to yell it at the wall...
"Hi. I'm done. Bye."
why won't my wall answer me?
it should be rebranded to mosfet instead of metro
Bye @river peak
Just another brick in the wall.
Thanks everyone!
But what if the saw can't cope?

@open girder new feather52: does the UART chip actually turn OFF when USB/5V is not connected?
@muted mesa yeah, its unpowered

Are there changes for the wifi for raspberry pi 3 b+?(are there different drivers needed)
sweet! easy peasy!

mr rogers that
Adafruit isn't a public company, of course they don't have stock.
They'll have more Pis soon!
Give me the pi3 b+ cause I just bought the old version from you guys a few weeks ago.
mmmm Pi
I don't like that this offer triggers my greed response. ;)
since i take so long to shop, i missed out when they were in stock

and there was much rejoicing ๐
I only wish a telemarketer called during this very narrow window...
but i have no remorse - i love my prize
grats!
@waxen thistle Nothing preventing you from pretending.
@molten ether Is that you?
Too bad April Fools isn't on a Wednesday
that is too bad
the phone ring makes me cringe... i guess its from avoiding the phone at work
Thanks and good night.

boots are (clade im not writing code tonight) ๐
i was trying to think of a way to work that in to that feet run
may be back in general later.... steps on own foot ๐บ
I'm going to need to rewatch tonight's AAE. A fever does weird things, like hallucinate and pass out while watching a show. I'm laying in bed thinking I'm debugging code and soldering. At the same time. And I couldn't figure out why the soldering wasn't fixing the code.
And for some reason, Mr. Rogers was in the room with me.
He probably told you that you needed to get some sleep.
I finally got up to have my first meal of the day, and I was very much in and out during the broadcast.
hope you feel better soon @waxen thistle
Thanks Blitz
....please tell me Mr. Rogers was part of the show somehow.
Otherwise, there's really something off about my subconscious.
Mr. Rogers? Um. Nope.
Phil played the trailer for the new Mr. Rogers movie.

You know, if you donโt turn on the amp, you wonโt hear sounds out of the speakers.
My brain behaves a bit like MIDI -- I can't hear the actual performance by remembering, but I can hear the pitch, timbre and so forth of very small bits of music (probably idealized). Learning to replay this kind of composition in my head is challenging, because I don't have the full vocabulary for the 'MIDI' function my brain seems to do (as it does with folk guitar and so forth).

nice, thanks for the early code? putting an order together now:)
-? not sure why I put that in there lol. long day ๐
I am always appreciative of the discount codes. They're awesome incentives.
So thank you. ๐
indeed
Unfortunately as much as I appreciate the code I shouldn't spend any more money. Trying to save it since I make $30 a week lol.
I wish I had gotten my code done
Yeah.
Hello all. I see we are back to half past midnight starting time. ๐
๐
I sorta wish they would do this 2 days a week at wildly different times
with a you can only be on 1
So they can get more people on?
How does this usually work? I posted a comment that I'd like to share. Do they just call my Hangouts?
@fallen citrus wondering the same thing...
When I've done it in the past they send an invite to your hangouts (helps if you have the app) as well as post the hangouts join link to Plus. Since I've been on it before I still have the room in my history.
Good evening all you wonderful people!
Good evening @waxen thistle
I wonder if I can get in if I can get my rode working in the next 5 min
hello everyone!
2 min
If you don't get in right away you can still get in mid show. Whenever I finish I always leave the call and finish out watching on YouTube.

I always have some performance anxiety, but that's because I work Wednesdays and never have time to rehearse what I'm going to say lol
Looking forward to S&T tonight!
All will be well.
I did that - just eagerly awaiting the 'post' that should appear
Treat to see @rapid hornet Sunday

Hey everyone!
@waxen thistle I think you're thinking of BSG...
For us noobs, is there a way to "schedule" joining?
But what if Mr. Tiki has a toothache?
No, that little stargate built by the formerly ascended boyfriend of Capt. Carter...using toaster parts
There is not AFAIK
No, you just have to be quick on the draw
That seems unfortunate. All this build up for nothing. ๐ฆ
@eager sapphire Of course. I forgot that episode.
@soft idol , someone will probably dropoff so you can join (if time allows)

That being the most complicated message Iโve ever typed and editted

Does Adafruit sell the paint?
That would make a cool display system.
@lethal lagoon -- great guide. As a result, I'll be making some arthritis comfort gloves for a friend of mine (instead of that hockey barn seat heater for me).

The only thing missing is the onboard lipo support.
But there's the backpack if you need it
Neopixels and incense.
that's a lot of leds!
thanks @inner spade great idea! will love to hear how you like this material!
wow. the leds just kept going.
That is a LOT of LEDs
woah that pulse looks pretty cool in the coils
@haughty quiver thanks so much! it was fun to do and seemed to make more sense than a complex project for this
I can imagine how bright that is, woa
That was cool
hahaha something always goes wrong
@signal sage how many LEDs was that?
Forgot to turn on my wifi so Kasa couldn't connect to the lights
This is just over 9,000 NeoPixels.
๐ฎ
that was a fantastic dolly zoom @glossy glacier
Just over. ๐
plus or minus
9165 pixels.
are all the neopixels at max brightness?
I doubt it
"Enhance!"

Yes, in the test patern they are. They are exhibiting redout at the moment because of system limitations but that will be addressed in the final layout.
I use sunglasses at 50%
"enhance"
Hey @glossy glacier can you export that image? Or is it just in the CRT?
woah, that must be REALLY bright
The last picture I took of these lights makes it look like a dark room. In fact I have 6 40 watt LED fluorescents overhead.
@gaunt plume the Null & Void is our logo/alter ego (my husband and i) for the random projects we do together, we made the sign for our booth at seattle maker faire last year ๐

Very nifty! Glad you didn't get bent out of shape presenting that!
@waxen thistle LOL.
That was a lot of fun. Great projects!

thanks @haughty quiver fun build and show!
Glad you covered the tilt-pan @haughty quiver . Wanted to create an X-Y laser galvanometer and wondered about that as an approach. Thanks!
That was a fun build. Thanks as always
@inner spade are you making a light show?!
A simple one for the band.
AdaBox 007 unboxing will be Tuesday, April 3rd at 9pm EST @eager sapphire
thanks very much @lethal lagoon !

Make your own laser show!
Time to head to Lowes for some Repurposed Approximations of What I Actually Need
Very small-scale. Planning to rear-project onto thin translucent plexi. Perhaps glow in the dark plexi for persistence.
Ok then thatโs something youโve got to film for us, @inner spade
Home Depot is short on metric screws, though - lowes seems to be well stocked in that regard
Our local ACE hardware has metric, surprisingly. Even some below M1.5
wow!
Iโll have to check that out again, havenโt been there much since they moved away. They used to be walking distance from here - those were the days!
Yeah. Especially in our smallish town!
Aight, Iโm off - great show yet again JP! See ya
See ya, @eager sapphire !
i apologize for my conduct as this was not the way to address the matter
everyone should feel welcome and compelled to join in
thanks @eager sapphire see you!

@pearl shoal youtube defaulted to today when we edited the description ๐ฌ

Oooo
its Park John Park
Park. John Park. He has a license....to MAKE.
That smooth camera switch though
you guys have lip sync issues?
I'm willing to bet this was pre-recorded -- it's a bit jumpy regarding the framerate, not as smooth as a normal live broadcast.
The camera changes are very smooth, I agree @round willow
camera changes are smooth for sure
I was think that too, that this isn't really live
I donโt see any lip sync issues
Noooo, I donโt need any more alligator clips! I have a dedicated box for alligator clips because of adabox
STICKERS!!!!!
Question: I've misplaced a few of the Adabox colored inserts from past adaboxes. Are they available online to view?
My 5yo and I had fun putting that puzzle together
Hmm, I don't see the Gemma in my kit ๐ฆ
@hidden basin look around, maybe it fell
I'll have to check at work tomorrow, I had the package delivered there and opened it before I left
Wasnโt that in the iot adabox?
The gemma?
No, the movement sensor thing
Makes sense, just I never found a use for the first one so now I have two
Lol
Two alarms?
I used one in my toolbox, to alert me when my daughter was getting stuff out of it.
Yes it is
@haughty quiver You're muted.
No sound
I think his mic was in the faraday cage ๐
Loud and clear!
Darn auto-focus
the lock is really awesome. probably my favorite surprise in the box
auto focus of focus
brings lock picking tools to an escape room
I always wanted a clear lock for demo purposes to go with the beginner & intermediate locks I got from TOOOL....and the SDR is really cool.
Yeah my freind and I were arguing which is better: the lockpics or the SDR

Hiya @open girder ! I have a question -- I've misplaced a few of the Adabox colored inserts from past adaboxes. Are they available online to view?
@haughty quiver what was YOUR favorite project
hi Park, @haughty quiver
โ
โ
@waxen thistle well, maybe for a few folks, if you are a cool helper and are nice, yes
Got mine today!
@waxen thistle for you yes ๐
My room mate and I have been having a blast practicing picking the lock
โ
Lock picking I tried first and got it in about 10 mins no video ๐
Awesome ๐ Thank you @open girder

Mine hasnโt come yet, but I canโt wait
@haughty quiver show the puzzle!
JohnPark the Puzzle
PUZZLE CAM
I love this box, wish I got started sooner
What's the frequency range of the SDR radio?
And make puzzles
i'm planning to mod podge the puzzle and frame it
Do you like the M0 over the v2 ?
it was not a coincidence, it was planned, we plan all of this
JP's workshop is an Escape Room of his own design...
why or why not
@split gazelle me too
looks like RTL logic chips. Barely digital.
007 Phil the Bond
I'm a amateur radio operator. Love the concept. Can't wait to try it.
JP workshop is Q workshop right guys
Totally using the stickers on my laptop
I was talking of the Gemma btw

yaay @haughty quiver
Thanks @haughty quiver! (i'm only here for the JP JAMZ) ๐
Thanks @haughty quiver
Thank you!!! @haughty quiver
What was that you could win if you post the puzzle?
@haughty quiver great job
Thanks @haughty quiver
a weight in feathers
So who is going to load wget on the Gemma with some bat scripting?
thanks so much!
An adafruit feather and 20 featherwings
awesome job @haughty quiver
That's what I thought I heard, but I wasn't sure. Twenty?! Awesome!
TWENTY!
You can fly with 20 feathers ๐
@solemn dock 24MHz to 1766MHz
Cool, thanks! ๐
my favorite project for this one may have been the Foul Fowl....
That project reminds me of some similar things I've seen from other makers. Seytonic makes a little usb device that can run scripts read in from text files, and I think his is based off the Rubber Ducky by Hak5
It is a very cool project though, to be sure! ๐
Just think it's interesting how many makers come up with similar things
I hadn't heard of Seytonic, but I definitely was inspired by the Rubber Ducky!
Huzzah, just got the SDR working. ๐
Linux and using Gqrx. Needed to add a udev rule to give my user permissions, but after that it was a cakewalk
I'm using Sharp's latest RTL-SDR v1.0.0.1660 on Win 10 -- works like a charm!
If I get this to the right frequency, to I get to pick up radio signals from the past/future? ๐
Yes, but it's tricky and requires just the right antenna. @inner spade can help with that.
Ha! Haven't found the future yet, but I hear the past in my head all the time!
@solemn dock Only if you go 88mph in a Delorean powered with a Mr. Fusion.
Is the California license plate required for the Delorean, or will any state due?
I am now learning that radio reception in my house isn't all that great. ๐ฆ
I believe one per state is allowed.
I claim the "state of confusion".
Does Adafruit have a more powerful antenna that would work with this connector? I think I need a bigger one.
I'm planning to build something like this, @solemn dock : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Discone_antenna
Nifty...
It'll be somewhat smaller than recommended, but should work much better than the supplied whip antenna.
I would imagine!
The whip is okay above 700MHz or so, though. Especially if there's a ground plane underneath. The magnet on the whip's base makes it easy to find something metallic. ๐
The linux udev line, in case anyone would like it: SUBSYSTEMS=="usb", ATTR{idProduct}=="2838", ATTRS{idVendor}=="0bda", MODE="0666"
Beware -- at least for me -- the LED and transistor were loose in the big ziplock bag with all the other bags/boxes of components. I dumped them out onto the desk -- and if you blinked, you'd have missed the LED traveling at the speed of light ๐

@vernal mulch : @covert stag and I made some good progress on the project, but it still needs help from someone who has experience with the NeoPixelMatrix library to get the scrolling to work properly. I encouraged her to show progress and reach out for some help to be able to move forward.
