barbell squat and deadlift = injury
and not useful in real life situations so for me they are useless
sure buddy
🤓
"nerd emoji" he says, after trying to explain to me that exercises that have been building fast strong athletes for decades are just "injury and not useful in real life situations"
when are you ever going to need to deadlift 1000kg in everyday life? My program with jumps, sprints, and lateral kettlebell work is way more practical and actually builds the kind of strength and mobility you need in real-world scenarios. I’m training for function, not just lifting heavy for the sake of it
are your muscles going to be like "oh well we produced 500lb of force squatting, but now that instead of squatting we're jumping, i guess ill just give up and stop contracting now"
like yeah include the box jumps and sprints if you wanna get better at jumping and sprinting
but doing bulgarian split squats with kettlebells instead of squats with a barbell isnt gonna change anything about how "functional" it is
I'm sorry about the cope
And sorry about the being weak and frail thing too
You know you can do variations of these that feel best for you? For example from squat and RDL, heck even hack squat or smith machine
Don't let anybody tell you only 1 specific variation is valid
You don't know what suffering is until you hit RPE 10 on bss
it's just a preference lol
At least make a statement why you think 'that's ass'
I progressed in my jumps and unlocked pistol squat with it injury free
Exercise selection, the vagueness of repetitions, execution and progression on which its built upon, A random grip and upper back exercise in the middle, 6 sets of bss after 6 other sets
wait hold on it'S my fault the app is shit at displaying programs
3 of the 6 sets are dropsets
so basically I do my BSS regularly with dumbbells and then when I finish the drop sets are (no weight) explosive one-leg jumps in the BSS position
Goblet squat just blipped into existence
i like doing them and i skip them if i'm too exhausted if not i do them
but my focus is athletic performance i wanna be fast and powerful (that's why i don't do bb squat and dl)
Most athetes do barbell squat
Particularly the ones that wanna be powerful

As for deadlift, its not quite as popular, but many athetes also do it
Sometimes on trap bars for ease of use but barbells as well
Might recognize this one
And you cycle too right?
They are the ones that hit squat the most if anything

No, you said squats and deadlifts = injury
Which is funny
In the long term i'm right tho, they are elite exercises but not suited for my goals
