I think there should be a simple sprint function
Right now, if you press [ctrl] it just locks forward movement so you don't have to press [w] but other than that it serves no purpose. If it could speed your character 1.25x or 1.5x, it could be like a sprint to help evade or make longer jumps. However, to prevent overuse or exploitation it could lock the weapon so you won't be able to fire or scope, or at least decrease accuracy.

The only "sprint" we have is the rubber chicken but it only last for a couple seconds and you're basically defenseless

Sprinting is already in the game. You're doing it by default.

It used to be a toggled option, but everyone just used the sprint all the time so the devs decided to just make the sprinting permanent.

Fun side effect of this is that you can still see the keybind for sprinting in the game settings.

Since then rubber chicken of course has been added for additional speed, energy cans give speed for a time, and the speed ability in ZBR came out.

Yeah but the rubber chicken makes you almost entirely defenseless and not everybody plays BR so is there a way to keep this current speed but change the animation to "walking" but then add a slightly faster speed toggleable by [ctrl] or smth with this current "sprinting" animation

So we make this current speed walking and the faster one will be sprinting

With some drawbacks like reduced aim or smth
