Self-explanatory, same selection method as in classic lobbies.
Potential ideas (relevant classic + previously removed/proposed modes) include:

Most (if not all) would need to be tweaked to account for size/layout/interaction time.

Also, as a side effect, it would lay the groundwork for 4v4 to act as a larger-scale proving ground than the testing servers to tune newly released gamemodes/features prior to their rollout on classic.

The team version of the gun game was fun and without the GL would be much better and the gun order had a nice equalizing effect on the teams.

FFA would be good too, but you could use the team version. You could even add both versions.

The only thing I object to in the suggestion is the capture points part. Not a fan of that mode anywhere.

If you want to play around with the gun game in 4v4, FFA with a short list of 3-4 random (or non-random) weapons might be fun with a series of short rounds as a match/mode. Maybe something like first player to win 3 rounds wins the match? The longer matches are probably tedious and frustrating for those that get stuck for the whole round if one of the first weapons is difficult.
