#How do servers update their proxys with features, etc without rebooting everyone off the network?

You can’t update the proxy server without restarting
Other servers can without the proxy restarting but the proxy requires a reboot
how do they do it?
i know there is away, because servers do do it
david the support member said there is various ways, and to ask community support
I did find this from google https://www.spigotmc.org/resources/bungeeservermanager.7388/
or /greload
https://www.spigotmc.org/resources/ultimatebungeemanager-without-restart.15186/update?update=56588 Or this one but its old so not sure if it works
i run velocity so its just a matter of tryna find a source
however thats exactly what im looking for basically, but in a jar that supports velocity
Just go to the github link and fork it for velocity
Also doesn't velocity already allow you to restart without shuting down the network? I'm pretty sure they do
However some large networks like Hypixel have multiple proxy servers, for example a proxy server each for skywars and bedwars
What?
they dont offer anything
Did you try restarting the server?
if you click "restart" on the panel, it boots everyone offline
Okay
Then just find another plugin for bugneemanager
Why do you need to restart the proxy that often?
nah just viaversion updates
wanna be able to do that without having to force restart
Viaversion should be on the backend server not the proxy
i know, and i much prefer that. however, it's a temperary soluation till they update velocity to 1.20.2
@real zinc, you just advanced to level 3 !
What?
Velocity doesn't have a version
You put viaversion on the backend servers
Velocity automatically detects the supported version
it does have a version
because i had the latest installed and people couldnt connect even tho viaversions was installed and it stated that 1.8 - 1.20.1 on the motd
Viaversion just updated yesterday
nah they had one out before that
Dude
check the build before yesterday
1.20.2 just came out yesterday
Install viaversion latest to the backend servers, remove it from your proxy
Then restart everything and try it
both these builds are 1.20.2
i know what im doing, you are misunderstanding something. velocity support team in paper recommended i use viaversions on the backend servers till they make an update
Okay bro whatever you say
I am on 1.20.2 on my server, I haven't updated velocity, only via
alright mate
