Optimization Methods?

Running a small friend SMP, 7GB of ram, about 4-6 people on most of the time.

I do have some plugins installed, such as an AntiXray & Claims plugin. Any optimization methods to make things run smoother?

also here;s the thing about restarting

yes it does reset the ram

but it's a very temporary solution

if the people that are playing your smp comes back after a restart and does the same thing they were doing

the ram will max out again in just a few minutes

so 1. you should be using paper, or mabye even a better fork or paper (i personally recommend purpur)

I do not want people to be able to set multiple homes

And its mich berter than lat

Also illegalstakc is a pretty hefty plugin

Since u are running a friend smp

Its really not nessecary

Finally, pregenning ur world is always a good idea

Glitches/Exploits built into the game itself are allowed

And somehow people have managed to acquire barrier blocks

I needed to get rid of them

i personally use engine mode 2

it's perfect and less cpu intensive

however you can still see some big coal veins near the surface

the papermc documentation says engine mode 3 helps reduce network load

otherwise it's just the person playing is lagging or has bad internet

as i said, restarting is only a temporary fix

your best bet is porbably to upgrade at this point

i have on from pebble fomr the black firday sale

32 gb of ram (slightly trash cpu, but it works great)

for 28 a month

It seems to me that the CPU is always fine and RAM is the bottleneck

should I just upgrade the RAM

you should, maybe even consider a dedicated server if you have the budget

i run a ton of plugins with my server and i have 2 mc servers on my machine

using 16 gb of ram in all

i'm great a managing and making servers but i suck at getting peopel to acutally play in them lol
