#How to set up which parts of my mesh should be affected by wind?

anything with the foliage shader is affected by wind. Anything without; isnt

you separate the root into a different model with less/no wind on it

the wind shader doesnt work off of vertex weights

and if you set up the values in the shader correctly, yours should work too

You can have all in one mesh, just mess with the strenght in vertex paint

But you'll need to use another one of the shaders, as Zoli said, I am pretty sure foliage shaders isn't affected by vertex weights
