example myserver1.xxx.com ip adress 84.32.221.XX
example myserver2.xxx.com ip adress 84.32.222.XX
example myserver3.xxx.com ip adress 84.32.223.XX
i have
Alright go onto there
And under domains click Zone Editor
Click on your domain and click manage
Add a new A Record
Gimme 1s
So
Thats all you need
To connect go in unturned - > play - > connect
Ender ur subdomain name as the Ip and the port as normal
Thats it
Also im guessing your servers are on the samw machine?
You only need to have one subdomain
For example eu.rbmkblaze.org:port, if they are on the same machine only the port needs to be changed
Is it enough to write the ip address here?
Yep
servers on different machine
Ah
Can you ss the whole prompt?
Zone name should be the subdomain
server.rbmkblaze.org example
Oh
No
Not that
U dont need it
Since the player had to specify the port when connecting
Delete the Srv record
You only need the A one
For each server
Np
Is it right this way?
yep
not work
Did you put in the port?
When I tried it via cloudflare, it worked
The connection is good.
but
i can't connect
nothing happens when I press the connect button
@prisma niche did you put a password on the server
@prisma niche is the server's name "HOSTURNED"?
yeah
Still able
Looks like your pc/game is unable to resolve the domain
Try this ping the domain from cmd
when I try another domain name it works
I didn't understand
Do you host the server from the same pc as you play on?
Do you know what cmd is?
yes
Ok open it
Ye the problems is with your pc's dns
Ye thought so
Just an odd setup because if I ping the domain it returns itnas server1.adesahost.com and not the ip like it normally would
I managed to get my server to ping the domain after I pingged the ip so idk what is going on here anymore
So it's me.
But pinging the domain only seems to work every other time
Not every time
As you can see there
I can ping it every time.
server1.hosturned.com Does it connect for you?
Yea
What could I have done wrong?
could it be because of my location?
solved the problem
it's because of the location.
thank you all for your attention
@prisma niche what was the fix
vpn?
yeah
i reported this as an issue; i had this happen multiple times but in the end it worked after re-entering the direct connect menu
you used a vpn?
I could not connect because my location is in turkey
well it is
it is not
so I used vpn to change my location to new york.
because they were not able to ping it at all
yes because it could not resolve the domain name
yes, but I don't think Nelson or many other devs for that matter cared to add a feature like that because domains always get turned in to an ip
yes it would be nice if there was a feature to say that the it failed to find an ip connected to the domain
yeah ik it happens just a different issue in this case
nelson ussualy fixes those small bugs
so ig why not
and it wasnt happenign before the fake ips feature
ah yes, the standard exceedingly questionable server hosting setup
what's suspicious?
it's not suspicious exactly, but using windows, much less remote connections to windows, isn't how practically anyone does this
I honestly would expect pretty much anything with "patcher" in the name to be bannable
its patching the windows shell
But I can't actually say for sure
of course unless you're getting ESUs, you're using a fully deprecated version of it as well
Ye and it is the evaluation edition and soon as that expires it will start to restart randomly. It is 180 days but I have seen it glitch out and go to 0 many times.
I'm honestly not particularly familiar with it for rather obvious reasons
I'd never use it myself
especially for something like server hosting 1. always use linux and 2. just use pterodactyl
Fair enough.
evaluation edition is handly if you need to show proof of concept to clients.
Windows server should only be using in companies and not for unturned servers
Honestly even most companies shouldn't be using it (and linux dominates that space also for a reason), though of course for SMEs it might be cheaper than hiring someone to do linux for you
Many companies prefer windows solutions also active directory works way better on windows
