delete the bans file

it will clear existing bans, but I'm going to assume that your server is using a moderation plugin.

If you use Moderation2 I think it will be fine.

I would also recommend disabling the /slay command, many people think it is to kill another player and accidently ban others. Most moderation plugins don't account for /slay, so it is easy to ban someone using the old system.
