after spending hours trying to make a server for this game so i can play with one other person i have determined that multiplayer was intentionally made as difficult as possible.

It's not that hard if you've built an entire game from the ground up before.

I have seen like 5 different ways to do it, 4 of which don't work, and one of which is extremely complicated and requires developer software.
