to me this kinda sounds a bit like cg. not against it i think its really only the early game/midgame that feels this way. theres a lot of dungeon esque content later on imo with raids. im just biased but id rather see the dev time go towards higher lvl content then midgame. can totaly see them exploring the idea of more group content thats aimed at midgame

I will say, Corrupted/Normal Gauntlet is exactly what you are describing here I would say
Or
Dungeoneering - which there is another person whom has asked for it to be brought back
Could try and find that post and help give it traction as it has quite a few updoots

at the end of the day, gauntlet is just another money maker, and the best money makers are raids, goal isn't money, it's enjoyability, getting things that you can't just bond up and purchase lol

#

fun should not only be for those who can afford it lol

@fringe cave @ivory kite @vital marlin @viscid bison

thanks for yall feedback/responses!
Honestly that’s fair feedback and I get why people compare it to CG or Dungeoneering, because those definitely look like PvM dungeons on the surface.

But the main difference with what I’m suggesting is the core gameplay loop.

Both Gauntlet and Dungeoneering are built around: starting with nothing, crafting gear inside, randomized layouts, time-gated runs

Which makes them feel more like selfcontained minigames.

What I’m pitching is more like a mini raid dungeon that sits in the world permanently where:

you bring your own gear

the layout is fixed

you fight through trash mobs

there are mini-bosses along the way

and then a final reward/resource area

So it’s less like CG/DG and more like a small raid-style PvM progression. but ye it deffo has some CG/DG elements to it for sure

That way the game isn’t just standalone bosses until the next raid, and there’s content that sits between things like Slayer dungeons and full raids.

Right now OSRS has a lot ofn single boss rooms, raids, instanced activities

hmm, so another chambers of xeric raid? i believe xeric does have easier modes that are much smaller than the full complexity

#

tho, if its easy, don't expect any good tradeable rewards from it x.x, those are reserved for only the most sweaty of raids

I don’t mean this disrespectfully but have you explored all content within RS?

grandmaster you say? that is impressive indeed, in that case i can see why you would want something different, you must be atleast a little burnt out after doing everything to the max, i still do believe dungeoneering would benefit you then, it's a good deal of content suited to those who have that kind of achievement set, hell, you could probably carry people in there if you are that good

#

ik one thing, if i was deep in, i'd want somebody like you on my team

I've been thinking about a slayer minigame where you could bring most combat gear but not anything from a slayer shop & would have to go kill eg a bunch of crawling hands until you get earmuffs to then kill banshees until you get a mirror shield etc..

This just sounds like raids to me. Feels like what you want is a beginner raid.

It'll be neat to introduce players to raiding but I don't think OSRS would benefit from the version of "dungeons" that exist in other MMOs

there could be a beginner mode for all the existing raids, have basic loot or maybe some of the rares at a much more rare drop rate to reflect the difficulty decrease

#

well when i say this i mean like... a mode even easier than "entry mode" which is the exsisting beginner mode for each raid? either way i'm not doing any raids beyond what i have to, not fun, too sweaty lol
