Good evening!

Let me begin with the onset that this is not a request for an appeal or any of the sort. I just have a genuine question regarding 10-day mutes on deadman mode.

Does the Jagex team factor into the fact this game mode occurs once a year, for a limited time, before issuing 10-day mutes?

I’m not looking for a review as I’ve already exhausted my two appeals. At this point I only have 3 days left before my account is able to communicate again.

I just feel like the 10-day mute was a bit extreme over minor trash talk. It essentially completely ruined my deadman mode experience. This was my first infraction in 11 years.

Please advise if it doesn’t matter about the game mode 🙏

It still factors as even though it's a game-mode, you're still under Jagex Terms and Conditions as it's under the category of OSRS and property, despite it being a limited time.

This actually provides credibility to the likelihood the mute was issued in error. My first infraction in 11 years was a 10-day “major” mute on a limited, 20 day long high-stakes game mode. Mind you deadman mode only comes out once a year.

If Jagex did in fact take that into consideration when they reviewed the mute, then that would be extreme. Some would say cruel and unusual punishment.

Being muted on this game mode for 10 days is equivalent to being temporarily muted in the main game for 6 months.

Maybe I should work on becoming a RuneScape content creator so I can get reasonable feedback 😂

Yes, but those are considered quashed/expired. Funny you mention this actually, 11 - 20 years ago I use to say vile things in chat just for the sake of it. When I got muted I accepted it. No defense for it. However, back then, those were minor offenses usually lasting a day or two.

This recent infraction, my first in 11 years, was a major offense. Objectively speaking, my chat was worse a decade ago.

I’m tempted to screen shot the entire “evidence” and post it. You all would likely agree the major offense was a bit harsh 😭

Oh I won’t. No point. I’m unmuted in 2 days. It’s just mind boggling that my deadman mode experience got shut down for petty trash talk.

Jagex invited certain people to their facility who is known to make homophobic statements, pretend to self-harm, and mimic a disabled person. All live on stream and/or from their headquarters. They allowed it because that person significantly helped promote their seasonal deadman mode.

All I did was call someone a loser and said they likely worked at Taco Bell while still living in their mom’s basement [contextually because he kept griefing me on the mode].

But hey 🤷‍♂️ I’m not a content creator so I don’t get any special privileges.
