this was an enjoyable graphical glitch that had little effect on gameplay other than making the game more fun and silly. I really don't understand why this had to be fixed, and am requesting that it is unfixed, as it was an enjoyable part of the game, lost for no benefit.

#

why thumbs down? @lilac nymph

to further elaborate, the list of players who are actively utilizing the mystic bottoms and ahrims top during actual gameplay would be exceedingly small, thus further justifying the lack of need for this graphical error to be fixed. I do believe we have lost something with this update, as this fix corrected something that had no effect on gameplay, effectively only taking away enjoyment/fun.

it looked dumb and i hated seeing it, and I wish jagex would fix all of the visual errors between specific equipment that have built up over the years, not to mention all the new issues zfighting introduced

#

i think it’s crazy jagex allowed this to exist for so long that people got attached to it

I found it fun, silly, and enjoyable.

Sad to hear that you didn't enjoy it.

I guess I just don't agree that the game needs to be highly polished like that. Its an old game that we play for fun. It should look however it does, and be fun. 😄

i care about visual cohesion, if it’s neglected then that’s how you get rs3 graphics with several conflicting art styles

I care about fun. 🙂

bummer we don't agree, thanks for chiming in

What's hilarious is that they never fix these things on purpose. Always accidental and then players get upset so Jagex has to find a way to break it again.

My cope is they removed it as they're adding an item that does this with any armor

didn't they remove it once before but reverted it because people wanted to keep it?

I thought so, but it happens so often couldve been a different bug we just consider a feature now

#

But like saying stuff like this isnt part of old school's visual cohesion is like saying bethesda games flaws arent also part of their charm.

#

RS3 has that problem because theyre constantly evolving visualy without keeping the rest of the game inline with their vision. Old school will simply never have this issue because its a snapshot of 07 and new updates remain in that style.

This sounds like bullroarers all over again “oh no I can’t annoy people anymore with this thing that I found enjoyable”

It was a visual glitch that was fixed. Accept it and move on.

I think its just as fair to ask for things to return just as much as people complain to have things removed.
I wouldnt nag people asking for things they dont like to get patched by saying it is what it is move on.

I mean it is fair to ask for reverts on impactful things, but this was a visual issue that was corrected.

I can’t see them reverting something like this, and find it bizarre if someone thinks differently.

They’ve “fixed” and reverted many impactful things in the past, so I am more than familiar with the concept, but visual glitches being intentionally left in the game after being corrected? Unheard of.

the visual bug with the sled quest item was acknowledged, and they doubled down on it by giving us a xmas event similar to it in the form of a skis. harmless bugs for the most part are left untouched or become features lol.
Something way more serious are things like tick manipulation which fundamently breaks the integrity of the game but we've embraced it rather then patching it.
