#Buildable banks was a mistake.

I believe adding buildable bank spaces to the game was a mistake.

If we can build a bank on a remote island, why not on our boat, in our POH, or in other remote locations of the game.

Also, this could have been a very nice expansion on lore/questing. Revealing the CBG (Central Bank of Gielinor), who is behind the banking system.
Locations/NPCs that offer banking systems can then be tied into this in-game entity, with them deciding where to add bank access in the world.
Some banking spots can then also be rewarded from quests or mini quests.

Not having a banking spot nearby just feels like an arbitrary dev decision now, while it could have been a nice story line within the existing game world.

Heck rebuilding a bank has already been done before in Mory. Making it a quest would be needlessly repetitive

Buildable bank chest was already done on fossil island

I don’t think it’s that deep either, it’s game balance and design that prevent us from building them on our boats and in our houses, not the fact that we hadn’t previously been able to build a bank.

eh i am fine with it, costs alot to put a bank chest on an island in the middle of nowhere that offers no real benefit except having it there. i haven't bothered building any of them anyway lol

Bank locations were always arbitrary, it doesn't stop there being a quest about the Bank of Gielinor in the future either.

Placements should be more around game balance than "logic" anyway especially when its used to justify excessive buffs.

You have a bank chest on that small island outside of Fossil Island. There is a bank chest in an underwater lost temple (GotR). There's also a banker in a buffer zone in an active war zone (Nex chamber).

Definitely more of a strictly gameplay decision than logical flavor perspective

Technically not a bank chest and we had to hire a guy for it. The fossil island one felt the most equivalent to what we do on sailing islands
