#there was no need to gut cleaning salvages by 64% (95 to 34 xp)

agreed, up until pirate salvage it was fine (15-20%) but latter tiers with more than 60% nerf seems a bit much
I just got Merchants. I wont be cleaning for the 1/20k drop chance for cannon now
Reverse the salvaging nerfs. All of them.
them not wanting you to afk with two crewmates doing everything and only cleaning every 30 minutes is understandable but then just put a compouding debuff on the experience your crewmates gain if more than 1 is salvaging instead of making it pointless to clean anything.
I literally lose xp by cleaning my finds now.
it would've probably be better to nerf the xp on the crewmates on the hooks and keep the processing somewhat fair for the latter tiers, this would reduce the overall xp/h whilst maintaining a reason to process it
Ive posted my agreement multiple times on other threads and on reddit, but for visibility, once again: I agree. The core game mechanic of salvaging is obtaining loot, and you are now punished for actually wanting to obtain the loot. I understand that xp redistribution is necessary at times, but this just kills off all playstyles that include banking salvage or cleaning it for the loot in general.
this seems specifically an issue for merchant salvaging, the other forms weren't gutted nearly as badly but you literally do not gain any additional experience for actually cleaning your finds now.
dropping salvage is bad. the loot is half the attraction to be there
Revert the nerfs
For fremmy salvage it is also really bad already
help me with the math on this.
players went from 4 to 5 ticks, which means from 1500 attempts to 1200 attempts an hour.
crewmates went from 2000 attempts to 1200 attempts an hour.
but there's a 16-22% increased success chance.
you're losing out on 1100 attempts though.
so does the 16-22% chance make up for it, it seems to me like you are overall getting less salvage an hour.
that depends on the base rate, which i'm assuming changes with the hook quality + sailing lvl
they haven't released the base rate
why am i not surprised, without that it does not seem possible to know if this 16-22% will be as effective as they say it will
16-22% to me seems like it's not going to make up for 1,1k+ missed attempts (even more with two crewmates)
1,6k attempts if you only let crewmates salvage.
They can decrease the ticks it takes to salvage, that’ll bring back the xp up a bit
