#Remove the 500 Magic Exp from Medallion

This feels like a trap intentionally placed by a jmod to ruin limited builds that don’t train magic. At the very least, would the team consider adding a warning? Not sure what the lore is behind needing to give magic exp when putting together pieces of the amulet, especially when things like charging items like the new amulet, ring of the elements, etc don’t give any magic exp

Calling it a trap to hurt limited builds is a big stretch.
I get why you want it, but damn you are reaching.

I don't really see why it's an issue considering how not-useful the item is

I guess maybe restricted accounts that can't get diving gear charting? idk I don't really see a use for it, even if they made it usable in Fossil Island, but without that it's even more useless

Cant even get the mdeallion without the diving gear, so the only "upside" is you get 2 upgrade a helm+cape slot into a neck slot

A warning would definitely be fair

Saw this — fortunately for others, this person ruined their account so others don’t have to, just sad that this was needed when a warning or no magic exp at all would’ve been just fine

This is why u should (sadly) wait before doing brand new content on a limited build, but even then, im not sure if checking the wiki before every interaction (like assembling a medallion) is feasible

Who knows, maybe in the future the wiki team will make a page with all the skiller/hcim risks for sailing

A warning would be fair considering how sailing activities arent giving surprise def xp to pures either afaik - having to check something like quest rewards before doing them is fine, but accidentally ruining a maxed skiller for this is just sad

Imo it's just no one at Jagex thinks about account builds so there's always random stuff like this that ruins builds.

Like, 500 magic xp does nothing for regular accounts, and the medallion doesn't have a requirement to wear.

Tbh, should they? Some players restrict themselves to the most random masochistic things. I don't think it's fair to expect the devs to consider every possible snowflake account before making content

That's a pretty steep slippery slope argument if you're trying to compare not randomly adding token xp at the end of a grind (500 magic in this case), to something as big as considering every "every possible snowflake account".

Unlike new tile-locked/chunk-locked stuff on youtube, account builds like skillers have been around before OSRS was even made. So account builds are not "the most random masochistic things".

They have an official hiscores page for skiller builds, so at the very least they acknowledge their existence. I think at least expecting a warning before an account-ruining exp drop is fair game

"Level 1 magic" accounts absolutely fall under the snowflake account umbrella

You said Jagex doesn't consider snowflake accounts. I said they don't have a responsibility to. And Jagex themselves have said they do not cater updates to snowflake accounts, including ironmen

Jagex fixed it this can be closed ^_^
