#Black screen upon app launch.

Hi all, I have a new pixel 9 and when trying to launch the OSRS app i am met with either a black screen, or a launch splash just displaying the app icon, which never goes away. The app won't boot up or crash, just sit in this state. The phone heats up as if the game is running though. Both app and android version fully up to date. Tried reinstalls and reboots in all kinds of configurations.

Which client version is your app showing: App wont get far enough to show me

Do you have the new renderer force disabled on your login screen?: As above

What content is primarily affected: All

Do you know of a current work around?: No

I don’t have an Android but probably clicking on the OSRS Mobile App in the app store

I’m afraid someone else had this issue and I don’t know of a fix yet, especially if you’ve rebooted your phone / uninstalled and reinstalled. We may need to wait for the next app release. Hopefully Jagex is aware of this issue.

Well this time it actually crashed after 30s~ instead of black screen forever. So progress I guess 😅

# echo stratus Thank you 🙂

Can I check, is this a first-time install on a new device? or did the game used to work on this device and now it doesn't? Or has it never worked?

my worry is that the bug might be associated with the fact that it was installed as part of the moving data across from the old phone. But I don't know how that process works, and maybe it is as simple as the old phone prompting the new phone to download from app store

@last mirage Do you know if anything ever came of this? Ive seen silimar reports in the app reviews on play store, looks like pixels are the culprit
