If you go to check your message center from in game, you'll be logged into the website on that account. Check your communication preferences and it'll have a hint of your email (first/last few letters)

It’s been so long since I’ve been on this account actively.. so I totally forget what I registered it under

Okay that means your character is on a Jagex account already, check the advice here.
It's also possible you were hacked at some point and the hacker upgraded the character to a Jagex account. If you're sure you didn't upgrade to a Jagex account yourself then you'll want to open a ticket here, and choose I think my account's been hijacked as the contact reason

It would be up to you to remember what the email is, unfortunately. If it helps any, Jagex accounts came out in 2023
One of the support pages I linked above says

For the sake of optimal account security, we're unable to modify your Jagex account email or disclose it to you.
