allow us a way to break sun kissed bones down without getting carpal tunnel please. over 1 k of them and i dont even want to break them down bc of how long it takes unless im clicking it then the chisel every second.

even if its adding them to a grinder to spit out shards with zero crafting exp.

#

follow up idea, let me spam click and the breakdown works for each click.

There already is an option, just let them afk break down. The tradeoff is speed versus clicks.

I know you don't use a pestle and mortar but I feel this is something [[Wesley]] could do

I'm not sure how well known is this. You can click it once and the whole inventory gets broken down into shards. Hope this helps

Kinda wanna piggy back on this and ask for other uses for these garbage bones lmao

They could make it possible to be broken down so people who are maxed actually get something from them? Like a dust that can be added in place of splinters for sunfire wine (which can be sold) or whatever

yeah like a lot of the people I see doing doom are maxxed, and we get bones for prayer as a pretty common reward. It was definitely a "give these bones more drop locations" than an actual valuable drop

Also they need to change the in-game value of the bones when looting

So the consensus is sun kissed bones deserve to either be tradable or have a vendor who allows us to trade them in. I like both of those ideas

I would never make them tradeable or have another use

They’re extremely fine as-is, aside from the delve loot thinking they’re worth a lot more than they are

I wouldn't make Sun-kissed bones tradable - I think part of their value is they make Blessed bone shards whilst being an untradable.

#

I wouldn't mind giving them an additional function somewhere.

But that to me is more about bones feeling useless in general outside Prayer training.

#

I could see an NPC like Wesley, whom you pay to break the bones down in bulk, at a gp cost, being added.

#

Perhaps Artima in Civitas illa Fortis could have that functionality, given she sells Crafting items and she herself can craft stuff.

It’s also a lore thing if you look at the modcast from RuneFest. Varlamore is intended to all feed back into the gameplay loop of worshipping the sun via bone shards and libation. Making them tradeable removes that interaction aspect of it

There should be something for people with 99 Prayer who don't want to train the skill any further though. Sun-kissed bones and bone shards are basically trash for those guys

That’s perfectly fine imo

Prayer, as a skill, is generally fairly poor. Because like Firemaking, it acts like an "investment skill" - you expend a resource really for just XP, and nothing else. The only difference between the two is Prayer level is much more rewarding due to the prayers you unlock and the increased prayer usage.

I think it would be interesting to have other uses for bones (e.g. compost) but that's probably unrelated to the suggestion.

I think the term most people use for skills like these is a "buyable" skill. I wouldn't really classify Firemaking as one, not with Wintertodt being the primary way people train it at least. Crafting and Construction are more similar.

Still, most of these buyable skills don't give XP through untradeable, at least not viable XP, so bone shards still stand out. It might be good, for players with maxed prayer or whom simply don't wish to engage with using bone shards, to be able to toggle them off, or sell them to an NPC for a token amount of money. (Probably 1 shard for 1 gp.)

I would rather a toggle where I can just turn them off as a possible drop. They are tremendously annoying loot as a main, throwing off the real value of your loot and becoming a dead item in bank that you either have to drop or drag into a furnace. And you get it constantly.
