#Saltwater Runes [Sailing]

Well you never suggested how they are made, but just that it has something to do with sailing i guess. So I would guess the sailing team would be the ones to implement it!
Though they are probably already quite backed up with ideas as is, but it is the best way to try and get something through
That would be kinda cool, a runecrafting altar you have to sail to
Here's what I would do:
Imagine that theres a massive storm out in the ocean that never ceases. But with optimal skill in sailing, and the greatest ships available, a player can navigate it.
Before you attempt to navigate the storm, you fill the cargo hold of your ship with pure essence and mist runes.
At the eye of the storm, there is a special runecrafting altar where you can craft a new rune called Storm Runes. This rune is an enhanced version of Mist Runes, and can empower both water and air spells.
We still don't know how much capacity the cargo hold of a collosal ship would be. But we might be able to carry hundreds of pure essense on a single trip.
Storm runes just sounds like a better concept than saltwater runes, in my opinion.
Honestly inventory spaces is a silly concept. The player can carry 28 beads or 28 barrels of tar. I don’t think the inventory should be changed because that would affect the entire game, but ship holds will likely be based on weight rather than count.
Providing more inventory space would give players an incentive to train the sailing skill. And it's kind of necessary since there are no banks out in the ocean. What's the point of going fishing on my ship if I can only store 28 fish, ya know what I mean?
