But everybody has the options to do that method, don't they?

#

Comparing skip tokens to that is just not a fair comparison

Imo these clue juggling skips should be removed if we're keeping the timer.

#

Skip tokens were fine if untradeable and rare enough imo

Agree to both.
The swapping-steps could be debated to remove but I think skip tokens aren't a good addition to the game.

Clues being Distraction and Diversion should not make steps being able to be skipped.

i am not saying skip tokens are the solution. that is something that needs to be looked at thoroughly.

I thought they wanted to make the skip token tradeable that might not be such a good idea.

#

many people have put a lot of work into filling the clue scroll collection log. if you make it tradable someone can just buy it in one go.

#

something like the slayer task system but for clues would be better

yes indeed and they have already made it tradable with the implings

Clue scrolls have always been a love-hate feature — but right now, too much effort is going into patching a system that’s already bloated, outdated, and time-gated from start to finish. Instead of adding more band-aids, it’s time to remove the worst offenders outright. Clue steps locked behind endgame quests like Sins of the Father or Song of the Elves gate content most players can’t reasonably access. Steps requiring heraldic, trimmed, or elegant gear create circular roadblocks, especially for Ironmen and new accounts. Then there are pointless steps in places like Keldagrim or Mos Le’Harmless that just burn time. With Jagex rebalancing clue drop rates, this is the perfect moment to trim the fat — make clue steps more consistent, then scale the drop chances around faster, fairer completion. This isn’t about making clues easier — it’s about respecting player time and modernizing a system that’s long overdue for cleanup.

# hollow pond I could see the detours like heraldic or elegant being a bad implemention for ir...

At some point, you’ve got to accept that a little nostalgia isn’t worth preserving content that actively slows things down or blocks progress. If it takes creating workarounds just to preserve a memory tied to one NPC or a specific quest step, that’s already a sign the system’s broken. Making small sacrifices like removing a step or two is worth it if it means we avoid unnecessary dev effort and finally modernize a clue system that’s already overloaded, outdated, and bloated with friction.

Yeah, but I think some are more reasonable than others :D

It would probably be easier than all these work around.

#

I think this is easier solved with compromise.

fallen lava

maybe you better make a new suggestion. 😆

No,

Jagex’s approach always seems to be adding more content instead of fixing the core issues. It’s like they operate under the mindset of, “We made it, so it must be fine.” Instead of admitting something doesn’t work and removing it, they keep stacking on top of broken systems like that somehow makes it better. Sometimes the real solution isn’t a workaround, it’s just cutting the bad content out.

ash himself said that it is a lot of work to adjust old systems. i do think that things have improved on osrs. can you give an example of bad content?

rugged juniper

How many you want?

it's like the legend Lynx Titan said. We need more Qol updates.

nice list btw. I'm not so bothered by the fact that those things are still there

For new players, dead content is just confusion.
Imagine starting a game and walking into areas, clicking on minigames, or talking to NPCs that literally do nothing — no players, no purpose, no payoff. It doesn’t compute. Why is it there?

It makes the game feel broken, bloated, or abandoned in parts. And instead of teaching players how to engage with OSRS, it teaches them to ignore parts of it. That’s not good game design — it’s noise.

We don’t need more stitched-on content. We need a cleanup.
Poll for removals. Poll for reworks. Make the world tighter, cleaner, and more intuitive. Especially if we care about bringing in new players and keeping them.
