idk, dont use runite? xp is still very competitive with mithril

minor rune
#

ok but the point is that why make dead content?

#

esp one that you have to work hard to get to in the first place?

torpid aurora
#

frog what exactly do you mean by hard to get into

#

It's a pretty chill minigame

minor rune
#

jagex is all about bringing balance to skills in the last year, well here i feel like is an opportunity for an easy rebalance

#

well not hard but its still work, it still takes time

buoyant raft
#

every skill has like 10 different training methods, varying by intensity, gp/hr, exp/hour. It is literally not possible for every single one of them to be relevant at all levels. There are too many training methods for that to work

warm kindle
#

It's not dead content, it still has fairly competitive xp rates and rewards/clog that people want

buoyant raft
#

ye people do foundry all the time idk

minor rune
#

yeah up until addy/mith it for sure

#

but the point is rune/addy shouldn't ramdonly be an unviable upgrade.

#

that you work towards

warm kindle
#

Gold ore bf is the "tick manip" of smithing so it should reward higher effort with better rates at a gp cost. Foundry is the oless-effort and gp for good balance of low activity and decent rate

#

Plenty of people will still do rune/addy for faster pts to clog and that;s fine

minor rune
#

like come on it makes sense more xp per hour, more cost, you see that with herblore but even with herblore, the cash lost per hour still doesnt even come clost to 1.7m lost an hour

#

and even then the xp rates are so much higher

#

i feel like you're missing the point

buoyant raft
#

quite a lot of herblore methods are easily above 1.7M/hour

#

i get your point, i just dont think its worth looking at because that is literally the case in every single skill in countless different training methods

#

you open a can of worms that is not worth opening

minor rune
#

have you ever played an ironman?

buoyant raft
#

if you want to clog you spend gp, if you dont you either get less exp or just do a different method

minor rune
#

for ironmen esp its is for sure worth opening

buoyant raft
#

you get 20% less exp if you want to save gp, ironmen make way bigger tradeoffs than that in a lot of cases no

minor rune
#

but yeah fair enough not for you i get it

I don't think this is an issue of giants foundry. it's an issue of the price of the resources on the GE which are driven by players which means it's not actually a problem.

minor rune
#

Thats' not true XD

#

rune holds its value due to its high alch value

hot kraken
#

you can just smith rune gear normally to high alch, and then buy smithing fodder from shops with that gp to train on

random harness
#

🤷 I still don't see the issue. The cost isn't unreasonable

minor rune
#

I honestly can't understand why any of you, have a problem with balancing this out a bit?

minor rune
warm kindle
#

Because it already is balanced

minor rune
#

1.7m cost an hour

#

the balance is so off...

hollow kettle
#

What are you wanting the 'balance' to be? Where do you want the cost level to be at the exp that you gain from this minigame to be at?

hot kraken
#

it's 1.15m an hour if you use rune equipment instead of bars, and that goes down to around 700k if you use the points you gain to sell grog, though it depends on ge prices

#

I'd say that's a reasonable price for a pretty chill 250k xp per hour training method

hollow kettle
#

Some training methods for skills are just expensive, and you're getting fairly decent exp back for it. There are also slower exp methods that reward you with profit.

God, I'm currently 2m a day planting tree's for farming but nobody complains about the cost of tree runs.

random harness
#

We're talking about the rate being 1.7m but that's only if you're buying bars instead of plate bodies then it's 1.15m so OP already has the reduction in cost they want

hot kraken
#

^ yup

#

even cheaper if you sell kovac's grog with the points

#

so it looks completely fine

random harness
#

Regardless it doesn't make sense to rebalance rewards of a minigame based on the GE material cost. That just is what it is.

#

Like, ok, let's say they raise rewards of GF. Now there's higher demand for GF materials because of that so those go up in cost.

minor rune
#

Yeah this is all main gains you guys are talking about here.

#

Well no because you're still gonna be making a loas

#

Loss

hot kraken
#

not at all, buying equipment from shops to use at gf is as good an iron training method as it is on mains

warm kindle
#

Foundry's purpose is the something like 15x xp per bar you get. If you want go for bars on an iron, go smith them

minor rune
#

Yeah I am, I'm mining and smithing myself

warm kindle
#

<- Green log foundry and 99 smithing on iron, it's perfectly fine as-is

minor rune
#

Still doesn't change the fact, that it's so off balance when you're making such a huge loss

#

Doesn't make sense

warm kindle
#

Honestly I think it should give 0gp back but that's just me. Shift the rewards to actually decent ore packs slightly.

minor rune
#

But anyways clearly you guys aren't gonna see this the same way that I am, so this is pointless, if you're against it so be it. I'm sure there's plenty of people out there that can see the sense in this.

random harness
minor rune
#

Still a huge loss per hour no matter how you go about it

random harness
#

So then how are you sourcing your materials for giants foundry?

minor rune
#

Mining and smelting them

random harness
#

Via what? Blast furnace?

minor rune
#

Blast mine and furnace yeah
