#Further Limitations to help reduce bot presence

targeting new accounts seems like it'd more negatively affect new players more than it would prevent bots

#

It wouldn't be stopping any bots besides F2P suicide bots, which already get banned as fast as botters can make new accounts

#

some of the accounts are lvl 3s just bonded up but a lot of them are hacked accounts

#

I also think you are out of date on what bots are capable of these days if you think that your proposed botting fixes would stop bots. They're pretty much in the same vein as random events, which were changed over ten years ago now to be optional because they were doing nothing to stop bots, and were just annoying to real players

limiting chat for new players heavily is just going to chase away new players

not considering that they will continue to use many stolen/hacked accounts, instantly bypassing the requirements

just use one of the 5 different very effective antispam plugins or go to a total level world

#

there are also already f2p ge restrictions

jagex could crack down on spam bots without affecting new players if they really wanted to

#

capping xp and loot is also just going to make the new player experience awful for no reason

indeed

and it risks impacting legit players

tired hull

they could try harder but it isnt worth it

only in f2p and who cares about f2p tbh

#

again there's half a dozen runelite plugins that solve the problem in various different ways

new players would end up still seeing about the same number of bots in f2p, but they'd be further turned off in the game due to being unable to chat, being unable to use the GE, unable to train on a enemy or resource for more than an hour, etc

i'd say they're more likely to quit because they're not allowed to talk or gain xp than because they saw spam in chat

#

plugins are coming to official client eventually

#

no they wouldn't lol

tired hull
#

you said they'd be able to talk after 168 hours (a week) of playtime

yeah that wouldn't work and nobody would do it so it's basically the same as disabling chat
