#Summoning and Curses

Summoning will prob never return in its full gamebreaking glory. I've always wanted it to make a return in a raid or boss fight.
Curses will "return" as a more widely expanded "God alignments", with a diffferent book available for different gods.
TBH I really just want my BoBs
SoulSplit would be nice too
rn soulsplit is only at phantom muspah, he does it to you.
I know. Which is one of the reasons I want it back. I forgot about it until muspah
a massive buff to dps, inventory space and survivability is not "quality of life" lmao
Yea it'd need some significantly nerfed 2nd life
But I want the overhead to exist as an altered smite in some way.
It will give a huge quality of life boost to PvM and bossing as well.
people really dont know what "quality of life" means do they
Quality of life (QoL) in games is a term used to describe features that make a game easier to play and more enjoyable. SO yes, I do know what quality of life means.
Yes it is considered quality of life. Quality of life (QoL) in games is a term used to describe features that make a game easier to play and more enjoyable.
i would enjoy the game more if jagex put a tbow in my bank, can we poll this qol change
Apples to oranges. You are comparing you specifically getting an item to everyone having access to something that makes the game easier and more enjoyable to play. Now if you said Jagex gave a TBow to everyone, that would be a QoL improvement.
QoL means making a game easier to play, as in accessability options, better menus etc.
stuff that require skill doesnt fall under QoL
but stuff like CoX scouting is
Those are also part of QoL but having both things I mentioned above are considered QoL updates as well by litteral definition.
adding summoning/curses is not qol
well your definition of QoL isnt what litterally everyone else considers qol
It makes the gameplay easier and more enjoyable. The literal definition of QoL.
the "literal" definition of qol is to improve one's experience by virtue of making it more accessible
adding summoning/curses does not do that
i'm guessing you would think something like
adding prayer hotkeys
would be qol?
because if so this is a lost cause talking to you
its an edge case imo
cuz you could technically achieve the same results with only a mouse
this is equivalent to saying "humans can technically tas"
yes "technically" maybe but in reality no
yeah, prayer keybinds are technically qol but not really
And adding either of them would not change the fundamental aspects of the game's presentation, narrative, or gameplay.
they are technically and in reality not qol
adding summoning would vastly impact the fundamental aspect of the game
being able to bring 16 extra brews or camping soul split during a slayer task changes the gameplay
as would curses
on a pretty big level
imo summoning and curses would be fun additions, but impossible to balance
It would change gameplay a little but not the fundamentals of how thee game is played.
"a little" no
even just having 29 inv slots over 28 would be a massive change to high level pvm
let alone a full entire extra inventory with no restrictions god forbid
Nevermind. You are both iroman players so you think everything should be harder. LOL
de-ironed a week ago
and play a main on rs3
@outer nimbus delulu
i have no problem with making content easier
but late rs2 trivialized a lot of content
Dungeoneering trivialized a lot of content.
it added an alternative way of getting gear
with made a lot of content skippable/easier
but chaotics didnt cause you to be able to face tank every boss prior to corp
The Dungeoneering weapons were superior to any other weapon in game for the longest time
that on its own was not the problem
the problem was that they're extremely accessible while being so good
it's not like tbow where it's a very rare drop and is worth a lot
tho same can be said for gauntlet (in some regard)
ofc major differences being difficulty and the droprate/token cost
i mean cg is not really comparable in that sense
bowfa is a midgame weapon
and is outclassed by masori/blowpipe in a lot of cases
it's only significant for irons because irons cannot upkeep 24/7 usage of ddarts
which are dirt cheap for mains
and i want to reiterate
chaotics did not allow you to almost completely face tank every boss prior to nex
Soulsplit didn't either unless you were max prayer. Also, there are Raids now and you can't facetank raid bosses.
eliminating next to all food usage at most rooms is still way too big
also soul split requires next to max prayer
and we now have prayer renewals
in both games
having a familiar that can hit up to 25s is wayy too strong
thralls currently have a max hit of 3 and even they on their own dictate whether or not a certain mage setup outperforms another by virtue of which lets you use any spellbook and which is tied to one
its not even like unlocking these takes proving yourself in hard bosses/raids
its just basic skilling and questing
on just raw dps you would need elemental spells for example to be 0.625 dps higher than whatever setup you're comparing it to, assuming the latter setup does not tie you to a specific spellbook
in order for ele spells to outperform
and that's just for dps
then it's the basis of qol
and i mean real qol not "add game changing feature" qol
Summoning was cool. But it's utterly and incomprehensible how game breaking it is. From trivializing pve inventory management to adding intense amounts of damage creep. Curses are thematically my favorite thing ever added to runescape. Scorning the big 3 in favor of more power but less protection is a fundamentally amazing concept to me. ... unfortunately the default book is quite literally what the entire game is balanced around.
yeah i'd love to have curses back too, higher level prayer will matter that way, i'm impartial to summoning, good with it either way
