Three different currencies/resin is too much.

It's a pain to manage all 3 without getting alot of extra points in one of the three.

I have two ideas for possible solution

#1 change this system to only reward a single currency and readjust all prices accordingly.

#2 Allow Aldarium to be purchased by any single currency.

eh

#

if you have an excess of one, just omit the potions with 2 or more of that resin

#

the others will catch up

#

What I do, but that's bad game design

open owl
#

on top of that, you can use the digweed to prioritize specific resins

#

it's not bad design, it's to encourage you to balance outputs

#

I'm very aware how to do I'm saying it shouldn't be part of the minigame

open owl
#

why not?

unborn tangle
#

Because the minigame was designed to be a ryhtm skilling experience should be able to just brain off and skill out

open owl
#

I can balance points with brain off already, what's your point?

Il rephrase what benefit do we get by having 3 different currencies

open owl
#

certain rewards require different ratios of points, and therefore higher tier herbs to unlock

#

the lowest tier potions take the most low tier resin

unborn tangle
#

Aren't these like 200% dead content? I never looked into them was just told it was similar to loot crates from mahogany homes

#

Herbloretodt reqs 60 herblore to do and you get over 3 million xp green loging it. I don't really see anyone unlocking rewards earlier because of this change

open owl
#

the apprentice potions are worthless, yes. But the higher tier ones are actually profitable. If you convert it to a single currency, then you would be able to purchase high tier potions with low tier reagents

unborn tangle
#

I'm mostly asking for the reward output to change I have no issue with using the paste

#

They can just add level requirements to the potion packs to compensate

#

You should be able to get the juicy point bonus for making all 3 potions and stay efficient in doing so

open owl
#

you only drop from 40% bonus to 20% bonus if you don't do all 3. Plus if you make a mistake, you hold it to use for a reroll if you see too many of the resin you have excess of

#

for example, I had too much aga resin at one point, because I was going for the potion storage and amulet. So whenever I saw too much aga in the list, I would either reroll with a mistake I made earlier, or do the minimum of the three, then get a new set of three. Eventually, it balanced back out that I didn't have to focus on balance

You lose out on so much xp per hour and overall points per hour doing that. I don't think you should be punished at all I don't think it's good game design.

#

It breaks the flow is mostly the issue

open owl
#

I was still getting 70k/hr, and if you just check every once in a while and skip the single ingredient you have an excess of, you break even since those give the least in terms of points anyway

#

it doesn't need to be hyper optimized, it's just another layer of gameplay

when you calculate it as the gp value, sure. But that's not always the case, and the GE makes conversions for minigames much worse, because the most valuable outputs are going to straight up be the best

I'm not really sure what they were thinking with all the useful rewards using one type of currency but giving an equal amount of the other two during the game. If there were any interesting choices while doing the minigame to prioritize one without losing efficiency it wouldn't be so bad, but there isn't. I agree, this should be changed

im a no

#

having multiple currencies in this case means that the reward space is less design-degenerate

#

more thought and/or planning has to go into it

mixology is just a bad minigame in general. people only use it to get 3 items and never use it again. its not even recommended in any training method. literally dead content

I wouldn't say that, herblore on an iron is directly tied to how many seeds you can get. That's why it's often the most lamped skill. 70k/hr herblore xp is not insignificant, plus it allows you to effectively convert an excess of some herbs into other potions that may be more difficult to obtain

#

for example, tarromin, irit, and toadflax can turn into these potions

open owl
#

oh, I just noticed, this also just straight up includes a 1/5 for a prayer regeneration...

#

the adept has a 1/8 chance for a prayer regeneration?

It's not good for pvm oriented ironman either as herblore is a joke of a skill if your pvm focused
