#Please make the herbology pastes tradable

Due to the changes to mixology cost, anyone that prepared all their paste in advance will now have an excessive amount of paste, especially Lye paste.

The reasons I think it should be tradable are:

  1. Adds a new money maker by letting people skip the paste making step for gp
  2. Lets people who have finished mixology sell off any extra paste they've got and recoup some losses
  3. It doesn't make sense that the pastes are untradable

you can do more mixology and sell the secondary

Adds a new money maker by letting people skip the paste making step for gp
trivial difference, you will probably lose money from tax if anything

It doesn't make sense that the pastes are untradable
it doesn't make sense that they would be tradeable either

#

why are pieces of eight not tradeable

Honestly from this comment and your thread on the suggested Rancour amulet buff, I don't think you are arguing in good faith

my statement about "mainscaping requires ironscaping" is intrinsically true if you consider how the economy works on a fundamental level, that was not arguing in bad faith

the herblore minigame is already overtuned as is, gives far too much xp/hr, the rewards are too fast to obtain and so on

#

i think the minigame is fine as is, is the main point

pieces of eight are a virtual currency now

#

i think you cant take bruma roots out of todt

#

paste is neither a reward nor an item that’s required to stay in the minigame

I don't think it's reasonable to compare the pastes to Pieces of eight. That is indeed a comparison between inputs vs outputs.

I also don't think it's reasonable to compare the pastes to Bruma roots. Whilst both are inputs within minigames, there is a clear difference between how they exist:

  • Bruma roots cannot be taken outside Wintertodt, and are only gained via Wintertodt.
  • The pastes can be taken outside the minigame, and even banked. And whilst you can only get them via the machine in the mimigame, you can get the pastes from a range of herbs.
#

The fact the Pieces of eight are now a virtual currency is interesting, because we can ask this question for the pastes:

  • Will the pastes only be used in Mixology? If so, then perhaps it makes sense to turn them into a virtual input instead of items.
  • Will the pastes be used outside of Mixology? If so, then it might be worth considering making them tradable. It might become an item which deserves to have some economy behind it, rather than being solely progression-related.
#

I think rather than asking them to be tradable, a better suggestion would be "reorganise the pastes"; either ask to make them virtual, or ask to give them another use.
