Right now, even after the Crystal Shard buff, the Elven Crystal Chest is pretty much pointless because shards are much better used elsewhere.
I think that either the number of shards necessary to improve a key should be reduced, or the average number of shards should be increased to make it -- on average -- break even (ignoring crystal acorns).

The elven crystal chest awards 5 unique collection logs. I've obtained 4 of them at 16.000 crystal keys 🙂 It's not pointless, it's the most expensive collection logs there is in this game.
It's one hell of a grind, and if u go dry it will cost you.

Its not designed to break even, its a collection log grind, not a normal person grind
