#Deathfire touch dart anyone?

In what world would this ever get used though? If it wasnt an insanely high ranged strength, it would literally never see use due to the low availability
it would give a decent amount of dart tips that it wouldnt be like 20m a dart
but maybe like 20-50k a dart
it would be stronger than ddart
it would be good for people who want that extra oomph for speed running dps wise
a bit pricy to normally use but not pricy enough to also not use
think of it as the purple sweets of darts
yea u dont normally use purple sweets but that doesnt mean people wont ever use them
Ayyyy, sorry to whoever suggested giving f2p a vote, we have a new dumbest suggestion of the week!
new bis darts, and also a way to keep a item higher in price
win win
xd
100% elemental weakness against all bosses
1000%*
the stretch i was going for is , its metal so u can turn it into dart tips
cause dart tips are metal
But no other formed metal items can be melted down and turned into another item outside of giant’s foundry afaik?
And alchemy i suppose
But either way im fundamentally against the suggestion of constant new bis, the power creep of the last few years is already insane
hmm thats fair ig
it was an idea i had for a couple years when avernic prices dropped to like 40m
it was a way for the item to stay up
and it would mean that all the extra avernics irons get could be made into darts
Torva darts next

hol up
let Etube cook
but in my mind i think it could be broken up into alot of darts
not just a little
Tying upkeep to a specific activity is a pretty bad starting premise for a resource
You're also trying to maintain value on an item with a high inherent value
Since it's a very useful item
With relatively low volume
Hmmm
it is the most common unique tbf
like i was thinking what if we were able to make use of the surplus of lightbearers/fangs
Yet each is almost twice as much as full justi
at toa
The issue is that they made them way too common, not that there's nothing to do with them
Have you heard of the GE item sink
as their most "common raids drop"
so dex scrolls and arcane scrolls could be used to "enhance ammunition"
Avernics could be made into darts and as for toa common drops like LB and Fang... there could be a use for it
how so?
It keeps the items up higher in value, new players can make good profit learning raids
i think its a win
speed runners benefit from getting to blow their access gp on expensive shit for the sake of speed running
new players benefit cause drops are costly
when they pull the drop they go "shit nice its money"
New players would by far be the most detrimentally impacted by this wym
New players suffer because drops are costly
new players getting into raids wont feel like "they missed the launch of the raid and now are getting scraps"
The most common uniques are cheaper because they're more common, which lets more people have access to them
they are common so that means they will be pulling these items more often
which will feel crappy yea?
so when the price is more reasonable it wont feel nearly as bad when they do it
im looking out for the new players getting into the content
So your solution is to make it so that people have to pay 100m to buy a dex so that it feels better to be a lower level player?

100m for a dex means now after buying one they can farm more and keep getting 100m drops
to actually be reasonable to afford a tbow
at a reasonable rate
To make into tbow shards of course to make tbow arrows
I don't see how that's any better than just being able to buy things at a more accessible price
Most of the people buying a dex haven't done enough chambers to earn one
Most of the money in raids is in the megarares and that's fine
because currently with how raids drops work, the descepency between common items and the megarare value is far too drastic. theres no way for a new raider to realistically earn a tbow scythe or a shadow without "lul simply just get lucky and hit the megarare a few times" where as if you made the common drop more pricy, it brings the gp/h up and lets them afford the megarares without the gutted feeling
The normal loot is still good at all the raids too
i want you to only get normal loot from raids and see if u can buy a tbow with that money
xD
I got a tbow on my main with only 1 prayer scroll as a drop before that from any raids content
I don't see your point
more common drop being up= players make more gp on average= more newer raiders can now afford megarares easier, because common drops are worth nothing, its almost like you're gate keeping new players from owning one because none of the other drops are valuable
they can do raids to get the megarares
They already can though
yea if they pull b3b megarares sure
And your solution is to make it harder for people to buy upgrades?
To get into raiding in the first place?
you do realize that getting into the raids
u dont need all of those items right?
and the second u get splits
(which you will very easily)
u can instantly afford one
i started cox with eagle eye
not riguor
And?
So did I
On my iron
On my main I bought rigour first
Because you'd be a fool not to
Unless you're saying you're starting raids in like 2m gear
40m gear eagle eye
people will understand not everyoen can afford 100m dex
people still let me in when dex was 100m
guess what
i owned rigour after 30 raids
cause i got dex splits
it felt good
cause every dex split was a solid chunk of gp
going to every upgrade
it didnt feel like scraps
So you're saying that the solution to the economy is just to increase inflation
add new uses for those common items
so it stays up
so newcomers farming it
will feel good about farming the content
A dex is still worth more than enough for a newcomer to feel good about it
I fail to see your point
It shouldn't be anywhere near the value of the rare items
And that's good
If a dex is the same price as an ancestral hat, that's bad design
And while the game should not be catered toward ironmen, going back to my original statement that making a consumable resource be only available from a single source is a bad thing still stands
Especially if the item is notably rare and nigh impossible to specifically grind for
easier to work towards ances or tbow if 70% of ur drops are scrolls and they are worth anything tbh
otherwise its jackpot sim
I think the issue here is that you think they're worthless right now
And they're very much not
it just feels terrible to work towards anything its basically “get lucky or eat shit” u can see when cox was on the decline when dexs were 11m and less gp than vorkath. nobody but cox enthusists wanna to do it because it just wasnt worth the effort. why cox for 1.9m/h (at the time) when u could vorkath for 4m/h so yes the common drop being worth a decent money is a good thing
16m is alot? how about 1.9m on lb 3m on arcane 13m on fang
these are raids rewards not slayer drops
ToA was balanced horribly on drops
You'd be much better off restarting from square 1 on ToA balancing than trying to find new uses for the drops
Even Masori body is less than 50m
and we have proved that expensive consumables like purple sweets are still used even if its pricy. yes i am trying to find ways to help keep the value of items up. people are def willing to pay for extra dps. even if its overpriced
"People would do it if it were added" is not a good entering argument for why something is beneficial and necessary for the game
People would go loot tbows off the ground at the faming guild too
People will pay hundreds of millions to boost pet rates
people blow gp on dragon darts
for more dps
this is basically the same thing two birds one stone
It's not even remotely the same thing
then it will make tob also more tempting to learn
Yeah nah, as etube said higher drop prices would hurt new players. They’re learning, they can’t farm as fast, they can’t get drops as fast, the experienced people are stockpiling cash while the noobs are learning, that cash enters the economy and drives the prices of all supplies up so the noobs have to fork out more during the learning process etc.
But tbh, it’s 2024 and the eco has already been screwed by bot farms so who isn’t an ironman these days anyway 👀
i like the idea of having expensenive endgame utility/gear
but idt this is the way to go about it
was a big fan of scrimshaws on rs3 and i definitely they need to make tbow more then 2gp per hour to use
thats how raids are but if u just do nex u avoid all of this
u just need to know ur options if u dont want gp tied to mega rare still make good money nex/colo exists and nex is there if u dont have gear/skill to farm colo
mega rare at nex is the cheapest item and the "dexes" are the most valueable drops
lol
i got you
Deathfire touch dart anyone?
even if you got 100 dart tips from one hilt, that's 635k gp per dart
it could one shot a monster that drops 500k gp and it still wouldn't be worth it
I'm not against this tbh. As long as the darts are adequately balanced to be more expensive per dart than dragon darts at its peak, it shouldn't cost any issues.
As for "making avernic more expensive", it's one of the last buys you purchase until it's 15m. Since the elder maul change, even less spots to use it at and you only really bring it when you aren't using megas, which is pretty rare nowadays.
5k darts would be 12k at current avernic prices and it would add a sink for uniques besides ge sink + death coffer.
Should get the Avernic Attacker from the Avernic Defender
and salvage the dragon full helmet into 5k dragon darts
That is a really slippry slope considering we can buy lumps of dragon metal.
Those are 1/5k drops @north schooner . Their supply isnt as big as you think
Excuse me sorry I was cofusing it with the shard. Still a purchasable hunk of dragon metal. And the sheets and most dragon weapons are really cheap.
Most orikalkum items are alch fodder. Though even if one could smelt them into bolts it would havr to be much more than a bars worth of darts for that to actually be better than alching them.
But if the averik hilt was somehow sopposed to be turned into a useable number of darts that same multiplier would be obcene if used with dragon stuff.
What if they were named darts of ScrewYouCarl and had +250 ranged strength against players with Carl in their username or email?
