#Let us refight the "Quest" difficulty boss variants

Vardorvis, Duke Sucellus, Leviathan, The Whisperer, Vorkath.

It seems counterintuitive/weird/outright stupid to me, that you do the quest, you kill the boss, then if you try and do the boss again you WILL get your ass handed to you.

The bosses could drop loot at comparitive rates as CG vs Regular Gauntlet. But it feels awful to do the quest, enjoy the bosses, then not be able to fight them

maiden osprey
#

not opposed to this, would help ppl learn the mechanics while being less punishing.

Same thing happens with vorkath and it's fine. The bosses are fine as is and allows you to get better pvm wise. Plus in regards to potential uniques, having it be accessible via the quest mode would be even more counter-productive

subtle parrot
#

hence the "with comparable rates to the Gauntlet vs CG" part.

#

the uniques in the easier gauntlet are 5x as rare.

#

And the average loot itself is 1/3rd of CG

drowsy fiber
#

I'd say no rare chance at all

#

But I do think it's a decent idea instead of trying to practice on speed running worlds

#

Which almost nobody does

subtle parrot
#

i mean x5 odds is realistically no rare odds

#

its not like people do normal gauntlet for weap seed

green sequoia
#

im a +1 only if there is no loot at all

#

like refighting galvek doesn't give loot

#

and besides the only quest bosses you get loot from in the quest itself is dt2

#

and dt2 leviathan for example is literal piss you can do it with half your brain in tact

#

no loot please

subtle parrot
# green sequoia im a +1 only if there is no **loot** at all

if it had the same loot rarity as what i was proposing, being comparable to CG gap, the GP/h would be as follows

1.3mil/h Duke Succ
1.4mil/h Whisperer
1.1mil/h Leviathan
2 mil /h Vardorvis (wow vardorvis is much higher gp/h wow)
500k-1m/h for Vorkath

May i ask why youre so opossed to these pretty dogshit gp/h's?

green sequoia
#

because they're the quest variants

#

1.4m/hr is by no means dogshit considering they're quest variants

#

the point is to learn, not to farm for loot

#

you're also forgetting something else

subtle parrot
#

i guess 1.4mil isnt too bad. could honestly half all of them. still.

green sequoia
#

with the current system you pay to learn the boss, via death fees

#

if you get to learn by just having an easier boss, you skip paying death fees

#

which means you're making money indirectly, by virtue of not spending it on deaths

subtle parrot
#

thats a point actually

#

just mostly wish there were more bosses around that range. The gap between bosses like Scurrius and bosses like Vardorvis is so big stats wise. Just wish there were more slightly lower level interactive bosses, along the stats of like Perilous moons.

green sequoia
#

it's still going to be a big gap but you can practice levi technically by doing scurrius with 0 prayer point loss

#

vardorvis is going to be rough either way

subtle parrot
#

i can do that while flicking piety on hits 😎 but yeah i just find vardorvis fun and wanna fight him more, but the gap between him and the quest variant are just so massive

green sequoia
#

fair

subtle parrot
#

which just FEELS bad mostly. Like if you were to just go in blind without wiki'ing youd just get trounced and wonder why its SO much harder

green sequoia
#

i would rather they just slowly add content over time which bridges the gap

#

which i think they're trying to do?

subtle parrot
#

yeah but vardorvis is so fun :c

green sequoia
#

zzz

subtle parrot
#

and i cant do that stuff in my pp mid game melee gear with base 80's for any period of time :c

green sequoia
#

i mean i think thats fine

#

the main point of attraction for the bosses is the loot

#

which is why im +1 to refighting quest bosses in their weaker form without loot

#

i mean, entry tob is -85% loot

#

but tob is a lot longer than 1 dt2 boss kill

subtle parrot
#

yeah tbh id probs be fine with that, the fact they have a death fee kinda makes me agree, and true forgot to compare to raids

green sequoia
#

some people (albeit mainly uims) farm entry tob for vials of blood for example

wispy lichen
#

If its inline with entry tob loot / hr.reduction

#

seems fine

static sand
#

maybe something similar to what exists for the fragment of seren from SotE and the memoriam device ?

hushed frigate
#

i support the idea of refighting quest bosses being without loot or at a much lower loot drop rate, like -75% to -90%, mainly to learn the content or to re-experience the quest version

tribal acorn
#

Fully support this provided no loot is given.

#

You want the drops? Go farm the actual boss.

blissful perch
#

100%

#

zero loot no drops on the easy versions

#

just have it drop nothing

red vale
#

no loot is fair if the death fee is removed, you end up using cash for supplies so technically you're already paying to gain the knowledge of the fight.
I'm not against a little bit of loot (no uniques) with the tradeoff of death fees if Jagex can balance it right, but no loot sounds easier to implement at first glance

tribal acorn
#

Current quest bosses like Galvek are safe deaths so it would be consistent to have no death fees for these other bosses.

plucky pumice
#

There should be death cost and no loot u die to reg its prob 250-500k gp each while learning

blissful perch
#

u arent farming galvek post quest either

#

ur farming vorkath

#

and vorkath has no free practice mode either

wispy lichen
#

Dont think a low to no loot version needs a high death fee tho

plucky pumice
#

They want it to learn mechanics for reg why shouldnt there be a death cost

wispy lichen
#

want to incentivise players to improve not scare them away

blissful perch
#

give them a 100k death fee then

wispy lichen
#

and i never said no fee

blissful perch
#

like how vorkath works

wispy lichen
#

just lower

#

ye 👍

tribal acorn
blissful perch
#

im more for no loot at all

tribal acorn
#

Me too

blissful perch
#

but keep the death fee

#

because its almost impossible to die to a quest variant

wispy lichen
blissful perch
#

gotta have some incentive

#

to push for normal version

#

or simply just teleport out before you die

wispy lichen
#

the incentive is the lack of loot

blissful perch
#

lol

wispy lichen
#

i e you're wasting your time

#

if you're not progressing towards normals

tribal acorn
#

To say its almost impossible to die to a quest variant makes no sense as it will be most people's first or second time at the fight. Mistakes will happen

blissful perch
#

and if you've beaten the quest once, then you already know how to do the boss at a base level

wispy lichen
#

beating the quest once doesnt mean u didnt plank a lot for one kc

#

and doesnt mean you wouldnt still die if you ran it back

#

good players would graduate the quest variant soon as they are able to do the quest variant without planking a few times ina row its a good stepping stone

#

with it not giving loot or at a massive reduction players will naturally want to quickly improve and graduate to the reg form

blissful perch
#

tbf they did that with entry tob

#

and alot of people didnt wanna move onto reg tob

#

lol

wispy lichen
#

the gap from entry and reg is huge tho

compact flame
#

Only reason there’s loot because it’s still 10+ min

wispy lichen
#

And ye it gives something

compact flame
#

If the goal is to practice, then practice with 0 loot

#

For this

wispy lichen
#

if the problem is loot then just make it give none

#

the practise is more important

#

they will save money on less planks vs reg if they can get some quest variant prac in

#

0 loot 0 death fee would be the most noob friendly tbh

#

A low death fee would be fine too also

#

trading supplies to get reps in

subtle parrot
#

and mind you, the vorkath practice fight giving no loot loses you gp and supplies even if you win. you use bolts, antis, etc

wispy lichen
#

Ye thats fine tho

#

just 1 less death vs regular because of the practise you got and the time + death fee saving pays for it

drowsy fiber
#

yeah you should pay to use supplies for practice and get 0 loot

#

as they say

#

get gud

true bough
# subtle parrot i guess 1.4mil isnt too bad. could honestly half all of them. still.

You can piss at a general direction and make 1.4m per hour with how bad the economy has been recently

I'm all for it I think ppl underestimate how bad droprates would be if it was like gauntlet Vs CG.... The uniques from the bosses are wayyy rarer imagine that on top of a similar gap to gauntlet from CG

You might as well go for an entry mode shadow
