Its free dps in any setup where you dont need other spells, which is most of them, and inventory space is usually not so highly constrained that book of the dead is an issue, especially considering its something like 0.6 dps in a game where most people will usually be doing between 5 and 10 dps most of the time.
in any case if it was desirable to buff thralls it would still not be a good idea for it to come from pets 🤷
