#Fixing the spam at GE (etc)

I lately was wondering as well why there still is a decent amount of people promoting things (at the G.E.) that is shady or definitely against the rules. But since Osrs is so huge these days and there are so many mods, I do believe that Jagex is still working on enforcing the game rules.
if you're such a smart prompt engineer i suggest u ask chatgpt why it's not a good idea
maybe you'll find out
Would love to know your answer to this and might I ask where in my post I mentioned that I am "smart" Prompt Engineer. You're filling in gaps that are not even there.
I agree that LLMs might be not necessary and there are tons of other ways. But as Jagex is a huge company I am kinda sure they did put lots of effort in this topic already so in that case it might be a new option to consider.
And @vulcao, I agree. But again, you don't have to prompt every line to a LLM.
Prompt… engineer?
It’s basically just people who type prompts in AI. There’s no engineering within it. It’s some how a worse version of chiropractors calling themselves doctors, because at least there there’s some degree of education
There are many solutions that don’t require AI. All solutions for bots that can be solved by LMMs can equally be circumvented by them
I can guess as much.
my actual answer is that if you're doing anything in the field of ai and especially suggesting anything about spam detection you should know some basics about false positives and false negatives. automatic chat antispam would cost jagex quite a lot of resources to implement, have a lot of false positives (i.e. people getting muted without deserving it, which is very bad for the game), and still not be too hard to circumvent. especially as osrs chat messages are, typically, quite short.
esp when you consider that a common ge spam is just "buying tbow 2000m" or something to that effect, which is just a perfectly normal chat message with a price that's too high.
as for expanding the pmod system, there's a reason jagex has been doing the opposite for years
it's just too hard to determine who is trustworthy, a ton of pmods abuse their power/sell their accounts/etc
and the only way to really do anything about that is to hire more jmods whose main job is herding pmods
at which point... why not put those extra jmods directly into the anticheat team where they'll probably have a larger effect
Could you keep it on topic? And your definition is wrong.
