Once upon a time in 2006, before the G.E. came out, I was in yanille and I needed Saradomin brews. I couldn't just go to the G.E. and buy them, and my herblore was 45 so I couldn't make them. I had to find someone skilled enough to make them and trade them to get the sara brews. So I found a level 124 who I needed to make those brews, became friends, and he said 'Gimme a hollar if you need anything else.'
Those days are gone, where people needed each other to trade, which really made the game what we wish it was. The G.E. as it is, destroyed the need to gain levels in order to get an item. I should NOT be able to buy 200 saradomin brews at the G.E. in 1 second when I am only 45 herblore! Why should I bother getting 82 herb? There's no need. In fact, why bother getting a high level in ANY skill if there is no need, I can just buy it at the G.E. rather than find someone who actually worked to get there. So here is my suggestion for a poll...
Players should only be allowed to purchase an item through G.E. they have the skill requirements to make themselves, or the ability to get through requirements (quest, minigame, bosses killed, etc)
Potential Benefits:
-Give incentive to players to actually gain levels, now they have the privilege of selling an item at their price on their terms to a lower level player
-Makes the community and teamwork aspect of the game better
-Trading between players helps their negotiation skills
-It's what made OSRS a lot more fun
